The Killa Posted July 14, 2009 Share Posted July 14, 2009 I got used to the planes quickly, mostly thanks to my Battlefield 1942 experience a long time ago, so I knew what to expect. Got in some pretty awesome dogfights, even though I always get shot down I manage to take a few enemy planes with me . With a few fixes this could be an incredible game. FullMetal Posted July 15, 2009 Share Posted July 15, 2009 I fooled around ten minutes in the tutorial level with fighter planes and I got a hang of it pretty quickly. Though my bombing runs could be alot better.... but I managed to do some insane stunts. Shamefully my friends don't want to buy the game. I thought they both would want it but first one doesn't like the feel of 1943 and the other one waits until the PC version comes out (like me, but I'd still like to play it now and then over at their place ). Daz Posted July 22, 2009 Share Posted July 22, 2009 (edited) I have every single award prettymuch now. Except 2 stamps which require assists which dont seem to be working. And 3 post cards, 2 of which I wont be getting for a long time, 10,000 kills and highest rank. I am really dissapointed with the guns, First of all, both sides sniper rifles are basically identicle, just a different skin. Both rifleman rifles are exactly the same, but some stupid changes to make one look like a jap rifle even though its just an M1 Garand. The Thompson looks and sounds awesome, but is practically USELESS unless you are shooting at close range stationary half damaged targets. The jap type 100 is AWFUL. i would rather just go in with a stick than that, looks god awful. Nowhere near as cool as in CoD:WaW. Not to mention I HATE the jap pistol too. So basically the only weapon I can effectively kill with, at range and close is the M1 Garand, and I am sick of just using one weapon. I know it is done for balance but I am bored to death of these guns already. And it f*cks me off I cant get a 1911 at all times. Fnorg Posted July 22, 2009 Share Posted July 22, 2009 It was like that in 1942, too, Daz. And yeah, it is all about balance. It sucks that the Japs have an M1 Garand, but how you balance it? One critical hit with the Arisaka and the three with the Garand? I think the game, along with BFH, is just a test for their EA's free-to-play system or direct download system or whatever they call it. Hastily made games just to see how well their plan works. Got the hang of planes now, loving Coral Sea. Although once you have someone on your tail you're f*cked pretty much, getting away is a bitch. Couldnt agree more with that, but its not just the guns, the entire game is cartoony and clunky. It just sucks because my favorite WW2 weapons arent in it, like the M1 Carbine, BAR, M3A1 Grease Gun etc. The japs sniper isnt even an arisaka, it looks just like a Kar98. Really they should let you create a class. There aint much to choose from so it will hardly be exploitable. Or at least get to use one weapon of your choice on either army. Because I love the look of the tompson and the 1911, but the japs versions are just about the ugliest thing ever, the only thing they have that i can stand is the fake garand. Give us the BAR for US and the Type 99, Bren knock off for the japs. The one with the upside down mag for those who dont know. Coral sea owned when I played it. I took down everyone and I was the only one with any score. Shooting down planes is easy. bombing is not so easy. easy to hit the target but not to kill it. But it's a fact, Type 100, Nambu, Kar98 (so called 'Japanese sniper rifle') and Springfield Rifle look rather ugly in my opinion. Thompson and M1 look decent (and they look ALOT like Pacific Assault/MoH Airborne Thompson/M1). They could've done this so much better with good/cool looking weapons and the REAL weapons for each army. And yes, even for a 15 €/$ game you should have more weapons. M1 Carbine, B.A.R, Johnson Rifle... Arisaka, Type 100/Type99... Can't wait for the PC version though... hopefully they'll provide modding tools so people with (alot more) talent (than Dice) can finish the game. Support Gunner, with a BAR or Type 99, landmines, smoke and a pistol and a PROPPER combat knife. I wish there was unlocks like all the other games. It really really sucks not being able to choose what weapon that you can use on either side. I hate not being able to even choose what I DONT want to use. I want something fully auto on both sides that looks good, and has range. Even a shotgun I would be happy with. Or a f*cking stick with sh*t on it. Loads of people are playing it, but will get bored eventually with only 3 classes to play as. I agree with Daz, bring in a new class or two, with the BAR/Type 100. I bought it I can complain. It wouldnt take them any trouble to add abit more into it. With some free dlc or a patch. Inaccurate weapons each side they may as well just let you have any of the guns you want. 2 of the weapons kits on each side are identicle. Which only leaves the smg's as differences, so you effectively only have 4 firearms in the game to choose from, not including the pistols. I dont like that there is only 3 infantry maps but still id be fine, if i just had more guns. I mean f*ck, even if I could choose to take only a 1911 I would. But I cant. Basically, if the gameplay was good enough to support these guns, like a Cod game would, it would be fine, but the game itself isnt anything great. This is why It sucks with limited options. As I could just go play bad company and actually have guns I want. But I hate that game. Which makes me hate this. Maybe the ability to spawn from one of those bombers, and skydive down like 1942. There really should be at least another kit and map. varied from what we already have. Btw to deny swearing, is to deny modern life. You cant ever escape it, it doesnt hurt anyone it just strenthens your passion on a subject. If you are offended, it is your personal problem. The way you are using curses, sounds like you are raging about this. It's the tone you give off which means people might interpret you as some sort of raging fanboy or something of the sort. I have no problems with cursing, but the tone in a debate with another makes you seem not fit to debate. @topic: Maybe it is the fact that Battlefield 2 was so awesome, and we have already played Wake already, that we see how crap it is when it is so limited. Battlefield 2 had 6 classes I believe and you could slightly customize your kits as well. There were more vehicles, but there were also the crappy glitches in the game as well.
