Neb Rm Posted July 1, 2009 Share Posted July 1, 2009 Hi - me again. I seem to be having glitch problems again... I am trying to do the 'Dirty Lickin's' mission on Vice City, on my PC. However, I need I think, the 'Adrenalin Pill to pass the mission (tried it without - to no avail). However, once I get the adrenaline pill, it goes slow-mo (of course) and I start firing - it wont let me fire again - just either goes shaky if I am using the aim on the sniper or wont let me shoot more than once on the other guns - though will let me aim... I have done the come out of the game thing - and after 3 goes it works; but once I shoot again - the same thing happens. So I end up having to come out of the game (onto my desktop) each time I shoot once - this is inpractical and means I end up losing the game! Any ideas how I can solve this particular glitch? - I don't know why the game has started to glitch all of a sudden! I'm now on 84% completion! I have searched, by the way... Neb Rm. Have you tried messing around with the video settings for that mission only-- drop the resolution down some, reduce draw distance, frame limiter on, etc.. see if that does anything?? Can't say I've heard of that glitch... a look through the "bug list" http://www.gtaforums.com/index.php?showtopic=188753 may give you something to try... I don't think the adrenaline is required to pass that mission. Boris_Chavez Posted July 2, 2009 Share Posted July 2, 2009 I find the minigun is the key to this one, but you do need to arrive with plenty of ammo. Carry something lighter when you pick up the adrenaline (so you can run), switch to the minigun as soon as you hit the mark, and then fire continuously, just moving aim to avoid hitting the Haitians. Neb Rm Posted July 2, 2009 Author Share Posted July 2, 2009 (edited) Hmm - Now non of my saved games (including the one I am currently playing - which is actually at 93% completion now) are loading at all now! When I click on the loaded game, it goes to that loading bit (with the moving pink line) and then the screen goes totally black!! lol - someone doesn't want me to complete the game I reckon!! Before this occured, however, I tried using the other guns (I had already said the same thing happened with other guns, as well as the sniper: it fires once, then doesn't fire again unless I come out of the game and back a few times - by which time I've failed the mission). I also tried another adrenalin pill elsewhere - on the roof of the Vercetti Estate. Still the same thing happened...I also tried my other saved games, too - again, the same thing (and just to say, the unique jump glitch occurs on my other saved games, too!). The game does, by the way, freeze for a few seconds every so often (with the sound still going or repeating) - this never really bothered me though. I have never used the adrenalin pill up until now and all my unique jumps worked fine until I got to 32 unique jumps and the last lot did this weird 'stuck on slow-mo' thing. Also, I've been playing the game on the same CD for yeears - about 4 maybe? (I'm not a big computer game fan; but I do play a little every so often...) Oh and also I have uninstalled the game on this computer before and reinstalled it - and was surprised to learn that my game was still saved at the same point... Maybe I have a bug on my computer? (It's not been picked up by my Kapersky Internet security thingy though...). I don't need a hand on strategy - I need to be able to work that one out myself - s'all part of the fun ; but I do need help with knowing how to get rid of these glitches to finish the game if possible... Anyway - this may well all be redundent as the screen just goes black now - I tried it earlier and again just now. I'm just thinking - what do you think of the idea of buying a new Vice City CD (they're not at all expensive now) and...transfering the file on this game over? Can you do that? I have noooo idea - it just occurred to me. Would that work do you reckon? You asked for my computer spec: It's a Laptop called a 'Style Note' - it was built up by a local company for me. I don't understand about the spec, but I'll give it a shot... - What CPU and its speed: Intel® Core2 Duo CPU T8100 @ 2.10GHz Physical Address Extension. - What RAM and also what kind: 1.19GHz, 2.00 GB of RAM [it just says 'RAM' where I am looking - don't know where it might specify... -What Video Card: Not sure - how do I find out? This isn't it, is it? 'T8100 @ 2.10GHz' -Which DirectX Version?: DirectX 9.0c -Sound Card: Not sure... HD Audio rear output 2... Operating System: Microsoft Windows XP Home Edition (5.1, Build 2600). Spuds725 Posted July 2, 2009 Share Posted July 2, 2009 If the bug is just from the adrenaline pill, then I'd just avoid it... for that mission-- if you can't pass it without it, I'd upload the save and post the link in the Save N Play thread (pinned in the cheats/tricks section) and have somone else pass it for you-- if you want anyone else just to look at the save, you can post it up too and see if your problem carries over... I have a feeling it is something on your end. Buying a new disk may solve your problem... you just never know. I have just done so...So no, doesn't seem to be my computer... When you did it - where you able to get into the game then? Because I was having the weird slow-mo shakey aim thing for a while - but then since then, the screen just goes black... Did that not happen with you? I don't think I could even use the other weapons in slow-mo, after using them once... It's most odd. But that's redundent now, because I can't even get into the game - it loads, and goes to a black screen and stays black... Anyone got any ideas?! Something I did notice, is that I have all the saved sections used up. I played the game a few years ago and stopped. These saved games (about 4) are still playable (though only 2/3 percent completion) and where played on a laptop I had before this one. When I bought this new laptop last year, I transferred all the files onto this laptop and started new saved games in addition to the old ones. It is these games that all seem to have the glitch - except nooow, the screen just goes black for them all...It's weird, they've been working for well over a year... This is quite a puzzle! Anyone think they can solve it - be my guest!! I now can't complete the last 7% of the game!! cacarla Posted July 7, 2009 Share Posted July 7, 2009 This mission doesn't require the adrenaline pill. Just getting onto the roof and shooting down the Cubans right? Laezy gave you the save file which had your mission completed. Try re-installing your game. The minigun is the perfect suit for this mission and i've completed this many times with that gun. I've also just managed to pass the mission without the adrenalin pill (piece of cake really - once I stopped obsessing about it!! ) Thanks for all your help, everyone!! But well done for getting your first 100%.
