MiniMental
Yo, I installed the game and went through all the hassle of gettin SP1, now i have all that i went to start up the game and it just says GTAIV:- Fatal Error (RMN40).. My pc specs are HP Pavillion HDX Laptop 21" HD Widescreen 512MB ATi Radeon HD 2600 XT 2.4ghz Dual Core Intel CPU 4GB Ram Vista SP1 Any ideas on how i can clear this error... is a lil dissapointing when you spend good money on a game that u cant play.. kind of defeats the object of buyin it but still, i just want it fixed . ANy help appreciated (p.s. The game has no updates or anything. just the game. my pc doesnt have any problems playing games like FSX, Bioshock.etc on full graphics and settings) Regards Mini
Girish
Are you sure the error is 'RMN40' and not 'RMN20'? Because RMN40 indicates that the user does not have SP3, which is assuming that the user has XP. I'm just baffled that you have Vista and you're getting the RMN40 error. Girish
Well, that's weird. Are you sure SP1 has been installed properly? Right-click on My Computer and Properties; does it say Service Pack 1 over there? You can also try installing SP2 that has been recently released for Vista. Also, try updating your game. Then still had IV installed and installed SP2? If so, uninstall IV now that you have SP1 (2?) installed. Actually run the repair first if you have either pack(s) installed see if that helps, if not then reinstall.

livilaNic
Ahh. You try and repair after SP1? I know it sounds stupid to do so, but I did something similar and ended up with no doors on some - let's say - quests (comrades, Elizabetas, etc). I choose to repair instead of re-install and it worked. Edited July 2, 2009 by livilaNic
