Standart
Hello, I have a problem that's pretty annoying. I don't know why, but my HDD's are not opening in the same window, but opens a new one. And when I right click, it offers options like it is a DVD-ROM! Like autoplay. How to fix this?
Spider-Vice
You surely have an autorun.ini inside. Or a program with autorun, try unhiding files and deleting the autorun.ini or dividing the programs with autorun to folders. Restart the PC, after. Girish
It's a virus induced issue. You need to get yourself a better anti-virus. Do a full scan with whatever anti-virus that you have and then, you'll need to format all drives one by one, which will also include reinstalling the OS since you'll need to format the C drive too. Or, a temporary solution is to turn autoplay off for all drives. Here's how you do it: Start > Run > Type 'gpedit.msc' > OK > Computer Configuration > Administrative Templates > System. On the right-side pane, there will be an item called 'Turn off Autoplay'. Double click this item, set the radio button to Enabled and change the 'Turn off Autoplay on' to All Drives. Slamman
Autoplay option is not abnormal for My Computer options, however, you should have control over Windows various features, most if not all. I had a problem where the windows were opening separately however, I thought my Folders Options were set at single windows for that, I had something seemingly goofy going on. I don't think it was a virus, I get clean results from my scans for some time
