trickstar34
Resident Evil 5 producer Jun Takeuchi said in an interview with 1UP.com that Resident Evil 6 could be a complete reboot. Capcom has not decided whether they will make a sixth game yet, but has stated if they do, it could take anywhere between four to eight years to make. (source) If this is true who thinks they should go back to classic RE style and make zombies and other things again?
deathdealer
The one thing I would want to keep from RE4&5 is the movement controls. everything else, from the atmosphere to the shooting mechanics, I want it revert back to the classic style.
sananoutlaw
As long as they don't revert back to the old fixed camera style, i'm happy. A lot of people liked it but I absolutely hated it.
Standart
I hope there will be zombies... RE4 is creepier than RE2. I don't wanna see something blow out of humans head again.
trickstar34
It had those in RE 5 too though.
looloolooigotsomeapples
Yeah, I am kind of rooting for a full on zombie apocalypse. I prefer shooting mindless zombies than semi-mindless villagers that use weapons and actually speak. I hate fixed camera, but I don't want it to be a full on action game. It should be similar to the 4th and 5th but actually be survival horror.

sananoutlaw
YES... merchant is a f*cking legend (or should be). There's the part in RE5 right after the boat fight with that guy (?), where you start off in a cave. It looks so much like a area in RE4, I always expect merchant to be there. He's a creepy old bastard, but great at the same time lol. I miss his flashing ways 'awwrite stranger' Edited July 2, 2009 by sananoutlaw

trickstar34
I think they should have the movie related canon, except not as alice (well maybe first game), then after that go back to regular RE storyline style.
The Killa
Remake RE2, for god's sake. These recent RE games have completely lost that "scary" factor but instead turned it into some run-and-gun on zombies-but-not-really-zombies. Can we have those cool zombies again? Y'know, the ones that smash through windows when you're walking down a conspicuous hallway, or pop out of a door and start biting your feckin' head off? Screw those pitchfork-wielding Spaniards. Gezim
I seriously miss the old PS1 Resident Evil games. I remember being little and watching my cousins play the game. Some of the parts where the zombies would pop out of nowhere would scare me sh*tless. And he would die so he'd try it again and I would know by then that the zombie would pop up, so I would crawl under the bed when it was about to happen. Good times. But yeah, ever since Resident Evil 4, the games have not interested me in whatsoever way. The original camera angle is what made the games so scary and unique. Remix
RE5 was one of the worst games I have ever played. RE2 needs to be remade.
Eminence
To consolidate a couple previous posts; RE2 Remake, asap. Get that out in the next couple years and then take as long as you want for the 6th. As for the guy saying it should follow the movie canon... whatthef*ck?! That's pretty much all I can say to that. The movies are f*cking terrible. They shouldn't be called Resident Evil, I was so disappointed by them. f*cking joke.
asimov
The first one was allright, the other ones were sh*t, really really sh*t. Also, basing the next game on a movie based on one the the previous games is a terrible idea. I'm thinking not a full on remake of RE2, more so take the old gameplay elements from RE2 use them on a new storyline.

Ah yes... my nephew got scarred the same way. He watched me play & when zombies came he started screaming & ran out of the room, after that he wouldn't even touch the disc lol, he would come & get me to take the disc out of the ps1 if he wanted to play something... memories... I think The Killa means a real Remake. Like the Resident Evil on GC.

RE can't even be called a horror anymore. it has it's moments, but it's mostly action. not saying it's a bad thing, i just want some horror in my RE games. i haven't seen any interesting survival horror games for PC in a while... Eminence
I don't, in all honesty, see them going back. I really don't. I think based on the good sales of 4 (I'm not sure about 5 but I'm sure it didn't do too bad) they'll stick largely with the action format, because it's served them well. The best hope is that another company comes along and makes something akin to the early RE games with updated controls and gameplay mechanics (i.e. not the fixed camera angles) and places us into a survival horror world against zombies. Dead Space created a good game, but the setting just didn't capture me all that much (not one for those weird futuristic weapons). Something like that against zombies? Likely to be excellent.
