I think I signed up shortly after one of the Pit's incarnations was closed down but from what I've been told it was a section of the forum where all the slings and arrows of the other sections were allowed and people could vent their e-hatred of one another without cluttering up the rest of GTAf. Saggy Posted July 1, 2009 Share Posted July 1, 2009 Well, the big reason The Pit had to go in the first place was all the elitist bullsh*t and negative attitudes that it created, so do we really want to deal with that again? Besides, we know the first thing that is going to happen is Slamman will get a 30-page thread dedicated to him and all the others will fail to be posted in. I just don't really see the point in having it other than to allow a very large group of forum members to gang up on one individual. If you have an actual problem it can be taken to PM. If you want to be entertained by pointless bickering you can go to 4chan or something. I have to admit that it was pretty entertaining at times, I just think that the reasons why it was done away with in the first place are still valid. I wouldn't be against it so much if maybe it was only opened for a little bit that way the entire General Chat user base won't be consumed and regurgitated back out seeking props for one-line zingers. I mean, after a point, The Pit just spilled over into the other boards and it was not so much a place to bring your problems to, but a place they originated from. I wouldn't say it would be a bad thing to fill it back up a little, but we should try to avoid another spill.
