Action0069
I installed gta iv on my laptop. it has windows vista. i was playing it fine but it was all laggy and skipping and slow as hell and the graphics werent the way they should be. i tried downloading a couple patches and i got this when i tried rebooting the game: GTA IV FATAL ERROR: Unable to create depth render target - Please re-install DirectX and/or install the latest video card driver. I tried downloading DirectX a butt-load of times! And it didnt work!! What now? i want the game to work AND not be slow/laggy/bad graphics! The size box didn't have a problem with it when I entered it in.

Action0069
this is in troubleshooting haha. i clicked on the troubleshooting link and scrolled down and still found my topic. anyway! my specs are: Model: Compaq Presario Notebook PC Processor: Genuine Intel® CPU 585 @ 2.16GHz Memory (RAM): 2.00 GB System type: 32-bit operating system Windows Vista Home Basic
Girish
You're trying to run the game on that!? A celeron processor? I'm pretty sure it has an on-board video card too, which means both your CPU and GPU are too weak for the game. Even if you get it working somehow, the gameplay is going to suck and you'll get enormous lags. Sorry, but I can't really suggest anything other than not trying to run the game on that laptop. Action0069
bummer! ya i had the game working and it did lag..hmmm that sucks. so now what?! i bought the game for nothing?? would i be able to return it? (i bought it at best buy)
Girish
I'm not sure how the returning process works, but why do you want to run it on a laptop only? Don't you have a better desktop? Or if you're planning to get a better laptop/desktop, you can keep the game for the future.
