JayM
Recently by chance I noticed a few musicians in the past who have died at the age of 27, starting with Robert Johnson, a blues musician who apparantly 'sold his soul' to the devil to become as successful as he was. After a bit of research (evidently not much looking at the website below) I came across this: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/27_club Pretty weird, and funny how in 'stoner culture' white lighter's are considered unlucky. A coinsidence? Maybe. Or maybe these people made an unfortunate pact with the devil to become musical legends
Ometh
Pretty weird. But probably just coincidences. Or not. MUAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

yzzybones
does selling your soul for a iPod Touch and a pack of Skittles count? For that i would join the club too.
Exkabewbikadid
I turned 28 last Wednesday and breathed a sigh of relief. *Heath Ledger, Shannon Hoon* Ah crap, that means I'm still not out of the woods yet either. Cobain basically haxored his way into that club with a shotgun. They should kick him out.
Saggy
There was this rapper "Proof" that released an album that has a story about each of the artists in Club 27, and named it "Searching 4 Jerry Garcia" because he saw many common character flaws between he and Jerry. He was shot in the head and died at age 32. I always thought that was kind of weird and sad, because he was sort of obsessed with the Club 27 thing, because he lived a violent life and was trying to pursue a music career. In the end you kind of have to wonder if it would have been better if his career had taken off and he had died at 27 given the way he did die. Seachmall
Proof as in D12's proof? He had a decent enough career, albeit not solo. Dying young is the best thing a musician can do for their music, these guys are geniuses. I should send letters out to various artists recommending the career boost (*cough*fiddy cent*cough*). Edit - Just seen Fat Pat on the list, there was a super creepy pedarast taxi driver in my town called Fat Pat, I think he killed himself a week or two ago. Wonder what age he was. MMDeveloper
if you sell your soul at age 28, it will catch you at the next multiple of 27.. so at age 54 you'll get scared half to death, twice.
Eoghan
It's a shame. Jim Morrison, Hendrix, Cobain, Joplin all amazing musicians. It's such a shame they died so young. I have been interested in this club for awhile. Thought of posting it before, but didn't. Some conspiracy theorists say the were all killed by the C.I.A., because there "freebird" stoner lifestylers were influencing children who admired them(Not Cobain). It is said that Cobain had talked about wanting to join the 27 club when he was young. I think it mentions it on that wikipedia page aswell. GTA3Rockstar
Leslie Harvey May 3, 1972 Electrocuted by live mic. That sucks. Kind of weird how many there are, is there 27 yet? EDIT - There is 27 that died already. Edited July 2, 2009 by GTA3Rockstar

I knew of the whole conspiracy around Hendrix's death but not of the others and you never know, maybe the CIA did want to get rid of them because of their influence, shame though. JayM
I watched Tenacious D in the Pick of Destiny last night and this came up- Just after the story Ben Stiller says that the pick was lost until it was found by Robert Johnson and he created the blues, the origin of rock. So maybe he didn't sell his soul to the devil but instead used his tooth as a guitar pick Edited July 7, 2009 by JayM
Mainland Marauder
I turned 28 last Wednesday and breathed a sigh of relief. *Heath Ledger, Shannon Hoon* Hah, you don't hear the name Shannon Hoon referenced a lot. That's one for our age group, bud. lol, so true. I turn 28 in November. What should I get in exchange for my soul that I can enjoy until I'm 54?
