Lollercoaster
Okay so I'm pretty new to the video editor. I wonder, how can you capture longer clips? All my clips tend to get 30 seconds only...
MitchyK
Yep, that's all you get i'm afraid, mine seem to be about 40 seconds long i think, but you just have to keep hitting F2 and capturing away, and then stitch it all together in the video editor, as one long video. By dragging them all in and then cutting, adding transitions etc. If you practice at it for a while you'll get some really good results. It's worth it if you want to make some cool looking video's. Spider-Vice
Sometimes I get clips of around 1 minute and 30. Sventilator
if you have (or buy) a keyboard with macrokeys you can program one to press F2 every 23 seconds or so.. (23 is the shortest clip length according to the manual) then import all the clips into the editor.. I do it like this and works pretty good.. for some reason when I have to press it manually I think about recording too much and all the stunts I try to do fail.. (look ma, no hands..! crash.. ) but don't forget to delete them regulary.. as they clutter your hd quit fast, and you can only delete them one by one from the editor.. (if you have clips used in projects, otherwise you could just empty the clips folder.. this is quit anoiing, good thing for a patch.. a better clip browser) I think the video editor is one of the greatest ideas for this game. It's like having 3D studio, with everything premodelled and programmed.. with a lot of restrictions ofcourse, but still you can make a in a week, which would take you years to build in any 3D application.. It gives you so much freedom it almost leaves me blank to think of something to make.. really watch one.. looks really pro.. his other clips are really great too.. one is in the featured list of social club.. Lollercoaster
Ya, I've seen all of that guys videos...really some fantastic work. Also I like JANTSUU's "funniest GTA IV moments"...it's brilliant. And this one is also grea: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s9ax_NvCwN4&feature=related But none of them beats The Majastic...it's almost as good as a real movie lol
Evolution RKO
I am getting GTA IV on my PC tomorrow. I already have it on my Xbox 360. Anyway, I have this question: If I take a video for the video editor at the highest settings and there is tons of lag and stuttering, when I play the clip, will the lag and stuttering be there or will it have disappeared and I just have 30 seconds of pure seamless gameplay? Also, does it matter what settings you take the video at? Will it turn out the same in the end? Thanks in advance for the help.

I am not really pleased at how my 9600GT is performing on it. Well I know that the 9800GTX+ and GTS 250 have the same specs apart from the memory, but there is a really cheap computer shop near my house. And I mean REALLY CHEAP! They don't sell the 9800GTX+, and only sell the 9800GT 512MB or the 9800GT 1GB or the GTS 250 512MB or the GTS 250 1GB. I think I'm going to go with the 1GB GTS 250. Also, one more question. Do Inno3D and Gainward make good graphics cards? Because those are the cheapest. And which company makes better ones?

MitchyK
I've had several gainward cards and they have all been very good. Especially their "golden sample" cards, which are usually pre-overclocked and hand picked parts to enable even more over-clocking if you're into that. If not, they are very solid reliable cards, i'm still running an old gainward geforce 3 in a media server here at home and it's still going strong after about 6 or 7 years of punishment! MonkeyMhz
Yea this sucks, I remember on my laptop some times I couldn't record longer than even like 25ish seconds. I don't bother with the video editor on my desktop, I just use fraps the FPS dip isn't enough to slow the game down much on my good PC. But when I used to play on my laptop I missed some really good scenes because of that stupid thing. Oh well.

MitchyK
We have msi, palit, zotac (I have a zotac 260GTX right now), gainward, gigabyte, evga, pny, inno3d, xfx, bfg, asus, etc so I guess we are spoiled but as long as you get the card from a reputable dealer the brand doesn't matter so much unless you want better overclocking ability etc. They are all built from reference design, with only coolers and timings tweaked by makers, and even the big names have faulty cards sometimes, so as long as you can return it to your vendor for replacement all will be good.
