Midnight Special
Hi. I cooked the graphics card yesterday and my laptop is onboard. Seems like it will need a new motherboard. It will be expensive as hell I think. My graphics card is Nvidia GeForce 8600M GS and I am wondering how much will it cost with motherboard? Cursed
Is your laptop still under warranty? If so just get it replaced by HP.
Superb
I have the same graphics card on my laptop - Acer Aspire, may I ask what you did to make it overheat and break?
Spider-Vice
My graphics card on my Compaq Presario CQ60 is always in between 80-95Cº and sometimes it overheats and turns off. I need a cooler. Star-Lord
@Superpowermind You're laptop seems to be on a list for battery recall. I know it doesn't solve your problem but it might just prevent an other, just a heads up. Check and see if your battery's serial number matches up with the list. Cursed
Just talk to HP about it, especially if you are on the recall list, that gives you some ground to stand on at least. Reminds me a bit of my friend who wondered why his Xbox 360 Red Ringed so often. He had an intercooler on, left it on for hours, and had it right next to a powerful electric heater that was on all the time.
Wolf68k
Are you sure it's the graphics that died and not the screen?
