Garfield 2
Hi there, I have a tight budget of 300 euro for a PC so this is what I came up with so far MOBO: ASRock G31M-S CPU: Intel Pentium Dual Core E5200 @ 2.5GHz & OC @ 3GHz RAM: GOODRAM 2GB DDR2 DIMM 800MHz GPU: Palit Geforce™ 9600GT 512MB DDR3 OS: Windows XP Professional SP3 & Mac OS X 10.5.5 Leopard HDD: Western Digital 160GB 7200RPM DVD: Pioneer something >.< PSU: Modecom Feel MC350 350W - quite good actually Total 1206PLN which equals to about 270 euro but then only 30 euro left for monitor and case Is this a good rig and will I be able to play IV on at least LOW with playable FPS? Ryan
Is this a good rig and will I be able to play IV on at least LOW with playable FPS? No. Not a chance. If you can, try and upgrade the CPU to atleast a Core 2 Duo. The Celeron's are pretty old. That graphics card is sh*t. Your going to need atleast a card with 256mb of VRAM. Warlord will probably come in here later and make you up a system thats a-thousand times better then this. Hopefully he can help you improve your system. May I just remind you that this is celeron DUAL CORE not single core.
3niX
Well... That CPU is still weak regardless of the amount of cores it has. I can barely run IV with a better CPU. And 20fps ISNT okay no matter what anybody tells you. Cant you nick the case, monitor and DVD drive from somewhere else. 3niX
Well... Now with that list I agree. Are you sure you can overclock with that mobo though?
Garfield 2
Yes, my friend has that MOBO and a E2200 2.2GHz DC - he overclocked it from 2.2 to 2.8ghz
anus
With a budget that tight, I recommend reusing some parts from your current desktop. The parts you can reuse are the case, monitor, HDD and DVD writer. This way, you can get the best possible main components. For a video card, get atleast a GTS250 1GB. And that PSU is absolute garbage, if you're getting the above video card, get this PSU for it. And aim for atleast 4GB of RAM, this kit would do.
