CryptReaperDorian
On TV, I just saw this movie called Dirty made in 2005. It caught my attention right away when I looked at the description and it mentioned two corrupt cops and Los Angeles. Now, one of the cops is a black man and the other is white, if not, latino. The black cop uses a shotgun similar to that of the one Tenpenny had in End of the Line. In matter of fact, in one of the scenes a couple of guys are playing GTA SA. Here is the cover: Edited September 3, 2019 by lil weasel

CryptReaperDorian
Good find. If you watch Boyz in the Hood, you will notice that one cop is black, he seems to be the brains of the outfit and the other is Caucasian and fat, like Pulaski. I never knew that. Two corrupt cops seem to go together with L.A. very often in the media.
Bullet_Chris
Also watch the movie 'Colors'.You will see some resemblance there too!
galuska
No reference to SA, but in movie 'training day' is a similar setting. The narcotic cops, led by Denzel Washington using/forcing gangs (both afro and latino), steal, deal drugs, etc. A good film btw. (and you can see the best looking car of all times in it, a Monte Carlo )
lil weasel
since GTA:SA is based loosly on preceived gang conduct in Los Angelas any movie or book would appear to have ties to the game. What Hollywood needs to do is a follow up Actual Movie based on the game. Or maybe a TV series. Write your favorite Director/Writer/Producer. I wonder if RockStar is taking bids on the option? After all, Token charactors are in everything nowadays. Pick Two minorities (A-A, and either a Spanish, Asian) Now add a woman, usually also a minority. Now make their leader a Captain (Also, has to be a minority, most offen A-A.) Add one dumb (european-family based) charactor who hates them and tries to sabotage their work. Now pick your crime family. When you run out of dialog have them chase each other for five to ten minutes. (don't allow them to use the radio to call for help to head the chased off. unless there is a construction site to allow a spactacular jump.), etc, blah, blah. It is really getting boring. - Edited June 19, 2009 by lil weasel
nerner
Yeah, now you mention it, it seems a bit wierd that corrupt cops, one of each colour, in Los Angeles, has been used again, SA most probably did have a small influence there, yes.

That's too much, obvious connection. I can't believe how many Cuba Gooding Jr. action movies I found this year on netflix. Until this year I didn't even know he had been in action movies. I'm gonna add this one to my netflix que now.
