Reconite Posted June 17, 2009 Share Posted June 17, 2009 Right, I made this thread to ask how you guys would recommend this game to someone else, say owners of other GTA's on the forum have a look at CTW and decide not to get it cuz it looks bad or cuz it's on the DS. If they look at this thread in the CTW section they might like what they see and expand Chinatown Wars' population amongst GTA gamers. So here, say something you like about the game and say if you'd recommend it to them as a fun and good game to play, or not. I highly recommend this game because although it looks like a top down GTA (it is in fact isometric view) it still has all the spirit of GTA and even better than some of the fully 3d 3rd person view ones, in my opinion. Although I must agree, they do good reviews. I didn't really check up on the GTA:CW reviews myself, I just followed a few previews and stuck around this forum and then bought it when it came out. However Kotaku was the best for GTA IV coverage (and review). I don't know if their GTA:CW review was equally as good, and would help convince someone to buy the game. Algonquin Assassin Posted June 18, 2009 Share Posted June 18, 2009 (edited) To be honest when I first heard about CTW last year I thought it was going to be a watered down GTA to fit with the DS image, but after a couple of days of owning it, it's every bit of GTA that I've known for the last 12 years or so. The thing I love about it is how it's a throw back to the original GTAs whilst incorporating GTA III era, and GTA IV features. The drug dealing is f*cking awesome. Seriously that's the thing I've been doing the most since I bought it. I actually really like how it looks like a cartoon. IMO if it had the traditional 3rd person view from the GTA III era, and GTA IV it wouldn't feel as unique. The use of the touch screen is quite impressive too. The missions from what I've done so far are pretty creative. Probably more than GTA IV, as much as I don't like to admit it. Overall I would recommend this game to anyone who is as passionate about the series as me, but even for someone who's never played a GTA game before.
