ZayDaGawd
He was a cool character. Sure he doesnt put up much of a fight in his "last mission" but he was still a strong and powerful character. I was just thinking during one of Dwaynes cutscenes when he said he owned all of bohan and pretty much all of north algoquin. But when he got locked up, Playboy took over and he made their empire twice as powerful at the very leaset. Not only that but he got into real estate and owned a strip club(not fully owned but still.) He controls the drug trade in north algoquin and has a nice house, car and all the stuff you want. Hell he even gives Niko a fancy ass phone like it's nothing. IMO, people let their hatred for street thugs get in their way. Playboy was a well written character and one of the smartest and more sadistic characters in the series. If the mafia would've never got into his real estate plans, he would've been a top gangster in Liberty City, seeing as how he already ran bohan and north algoquin. I just don't see where all the hate is coming from.

Algonquin Assassin
For me, he was a cocky up-himself asshole. Yep. His arrogance pissed me off to no end. I liked Dwayne way more. Atleast he wasn't full of himself, which to me made him more likeable out of the two.

TGMOS
I only killed him to acquire his penthouse, I have no hate for him. If I coulda got the penthouse or a similar one for killing Dwayne I woulda killed him instead, he always bugs you to go do stuff with him.

True, but that's why I liked him. A stereotypical gangster that actually was smart. If you want a true stereotypical gangster, look at Sweet or Ryder. People like Big Smoke and Playboy actually managed to build empires. I mean seriously, he wasn't even 30 years old and already ran a borough in LC(Bohan), ran North Algoquin, and got into real estate. I think people just assume he was a worthless gangbanger who probably made less than minimum wage and wouldnt be able to play with the big boys, when in fact, that's far from the truth. And me and you both know that most people probably didn't even know what Dubai was before playing GTA4. Well, for one, I been knew where Dubai was, being that I am majoring in International Business and have been studying places outside of the USA for years. Second, I think you getting a bit offended by this. It's a game and that's it, so stop taking it so seriously. And a lot of people hated Playboy because he was a cocky S.O.B. On top of that, he betrays you in a way and reveals how he really felt about you once you visit him instead of Dwayne. In the trailers before GTA IV's release. mostly everybody got a good vibe from PBX and like him a lo for being a cool character. Once people found out how cocky he was, they started to dislike him. Even after killing him, I personally still like him. And you may be giving him too much credit. He was smart to certain extents but there are plenty of other characters in the GTA universe that make him look like an idiot.

Which is why I said if I got to know a bit better (like having him as a friend) I probably would've liked him. In the entire time Niko worked for him I couldn't wait for his missions to end. I see where you guys are coming from and the Dubai comment was a bit out of place, and it's true that Playboy wasnt nowhere near the smartest criminal in the GTA world, but when it comes to the 'ghetto gangsters' in the GTA series, Playboy is on top. I just like how they didnt make him some wannabee thug who smokes weed all day and only owns a nine milimeter. On a sidenote, why do people call his place a mansion? And come to think of it, it would've been cool if one of the DLC's was having us play during the height of Dwaynes Power. Maybe we couldve worked for him and see how powerful he was, how he managed to keep his power and how Playboy acted while still being the 'righthand'. Maybe we could've saw Elizabeta coming into the game and possibly Packie as well. Edited June 17, 2009 by ps2_master94

Sergi
I don't see how anyone could really like or dislike Playboy X. He was a character that had no real pressence in the game and that goes along with basically every other character that could have been interesting. We interacted with him for what 5 missions in all including his 2 or 3 missions and the Elizabeta mission. He was just that cocky arrogant guy who thought he had the world by it's balls. R* just made horrible decisions with characters in IV imo and none really stood out like past GTA characters. Playoby X was far from a dummy. As other have sad he ran a large scale empire, was powerful and was not you traditional "hood" drug dealer. That was Dwayne. Playoby wanted to actually expand his horizons and become more powerful. He was thinking with his mind while Dwayne was still living in that 90s era mind state and was thinking about all the wrong things when it came to the drug business. R* made the worst decision in killing off Playboy or if you didn't kill him there was no more interaction.
Algonquin Assassin
R* made the worst decision in killing off Playboy or if you didn't kill him there was no more interaction. I agree. I just feel his presence was too short lived. If he had a longer presence in the game, he would probably be more liked. I just thought it was ridiculous after killing Dwayne he just disappeared off the face of the earth. What R* should've done is something similar to what they done with Little Jacob, and Badman (Well Little Jacob is still in the story after his missions). Since PBX was into the drug, and real estate trade that could've opened up more side missions, or he could've been a random ped later on. I must admit as much as I don't like him he was a fairly interesting sort of character.

You know that they're supposed to be disliked so when given the chance you kill them. The only reason I killed Playboy was for the penthouse as I had no use for the money you get for killing Dwayne since Niko's pretty loaded by then, although he still moans about not being
DarrinPA
PBX was success with his business but that was because Dwayne helped him. He seemed like a person who fakes there way through life, [depending on if you killed him] and if he was around in 10 years he'd be depressed just like Dwayne. He's like a more annoying version of OG Loc.

It's true that Dwayne was more likeable but lets face it, Playboy was right. Dwayne didnt understand how buisness today works and was stuck living in the past. If I was Playboy I wouldve gotten rid of Dwayne too.

Cheat
I actually liked Playboy first, cuz he is a, you know, cool man, but can't say that he wasn't a prick always, but you know, he was a gangsta smokin' n' livin' the rap life, ya know? But when I killed Dwayne for the first time in this savegame I'm playin' now, I was like oh f*ck when I called Playboy, he's such a prick, and now I hope that I could go and shoot his face with a shotgun. But I'mma use his parkin' lot anywayz : DD I think that people hate Playboy because of what he did to Niko and tried to do to Dwayne. Or that's it for me.
