If anyone else is also a big fan of mob movies please post any titles I have missed, but here is my list, basically the list of films that I actually own, I didn't include Mob Queen because I don't have it. 1. Donnie Brasco 2. Goodfellas 3. Gotti 4. This Thing of Ours 5. Godfather I and II 6. A Bronx Tale 7. Casino 8. Mobsters 9. Boss of Bosses 10. Gang Wars 11. Wannabes 12. Brooklyn Rules 13. Witness to the Mob 14. Bonanno 15. Wisegal 16. Family Enforcer 17. Gomorra 18.Brooklyn State of Mind A few others that I wouldn't recommend but that are still Cosa Nostra: Mob War/ Smokin' Stogies / Wise Guys / Valentine's Day. There are many films that have the Mafia as bit part players such as American Gangster, which I won't include; then there are the films which feature Mafia-esque gangsters such Things to do in Denver When Your Dead, but as they not based on the Mafia, they are also outside the scope of this thread. A film I was unsure as to include: A history of Violence, the mob is a central theme but I still wouldn't call it a mob movie but as I included A Bronx Tale maybe it should be in. Yes it's very good, I had to buy an American DVD and convert it to region 2, same with Brooklyn State of Mind, but that film was not as good as I hoped, it claims to be a mob movie but it didn't really deliver. But, yeah, even though critics praise it, it's not that good (yeah, critics are douchebags who dunno jack about film, I know). Wait for a dub? Seriously? The whole movie is great, but if I had the choice I would take the original Godfather. Just something about having the whole family slowly being picked off just made me realize how quickly things in life can fall. Never got to finish Goodfellas, but I did enjoy what I saw. If you want a really good mafia movie, just play Mafia the game. The story the its self was just amazing, and getting to cause the mayhem is just a bonus. I watched: - Godfather(all parts) - Goodfellas - Casino - The Untouchables - Once upon a time in America Much respect to Sergio Leone, Steve Scorsese, Briand de Palma, Francis Ford Copolla annd Mario Puzzo who wrote the Godfather. About the movie Casino:It was the sh*t.A f*cking good movie, I like Joe Pesci and this movie is the second mob movie I see with Robert de Niro. vinnygorgeous Posted July 21, 2009 Author Share Posted July 21, 2009 Punisher-War Zone, is an interesting one, the Cosa Nostra was a central theme of the movie but they were used just as any other comic book villain would have been, in an extremely over the top fashion, I doubt anyone would class it as a mob movie as such, but it did get me thinking about, just how many movies have used the Mafia as bad guys, even if you excluded the ones where they are not specifically referenced as being mafiosi it must be a lot, hundreds maybe?
