Latetzki
Game crashes after I press F1 (Timecyclereloader), any idea why? Does other .ASI scripts work with this? And is it okay that I moved all the files to game folder? Edited January 6, 2010 by Latetzki

Rich246
So why does this come up as trojan...hmm fishy and the tool maker doesn't answer questions even fishier I have been using this program for awhile I have never had a virus alert on it... It is an amazing program, I highly doubt the creator would put a virus in it.
Kenny457
Hmm it could be a false/positive but anyways the .asi shows up as trojan..by the way you have any success with the global weather changer? I always get "1,20'/'1,00' is not a valid floating point value edit: I always get a bunch of random numbers with "," maybe a screw up in the program.. zBobG
MS Security Essentials also detects a virus. In the archive are two (rar) files though, one is EditIV and the other is TimeCycReloader.asi (I think that's the name). It is the TimeCycReloader.asi that is getting detected as a virus. I'm guessing that TimeCycReloader has something to do with reloading the cfg file if you edit it while in-game. I suppose you could throw away the reloader and keep EditIV. I'm going to search for a different source for the file. I'm not sure I trust the download at GTAGarage. Edited April 28, 2010 by zBobG

zBobG
Ok, already! Here is a link (at FileDropper.com) to a repackaged EditIV v1.2.8 without the file that causes the virus warning. This will allow downloading EditIV for those of you who cannot because your computer blocks anything that causes a virus warning. EditIV_repack Note that because the TimeCycReloader.asi file has been deleted from this archive the features provided by that file are no longer present. I believe the file was used to reload the timecyc.dat file if the file was edited while the game was running. With the asi file missing you will need to quit the game then restart the game in order for any timecyc.dat edits to be applied. Please read the ReadMe_repack.txt for useful information. [EDIT] Find the timecyc.dat files here: ...\Rockstar Games\Grand Theft Auto IV\pc\data Or: ...\Rockstar Games\EFLC\pc\data Each of the GTAIV downloaded DLC files has a separate timecyc.dat that may be here: ...\Rockstar Games\Grand Theft Auto IV\TBoGT\pc\data ...\Rockstar Games\Grand Theft Auto IV\TLAD\pc\data Otherwise the GFWL downloaded DLC files may be in TBoGT/TLAD folders somewhere in this folder: C:\Users\<user>\AppData\Local\Microsoft\XLive Or: C:\Documents and Settings\<user>\Local Settings\Application Data\Microsoft\XLive {I really don't know where the folders are for the downloaded versions of the DLC.} Each of the EFLC DLC files has a separate timecyc.dat here: ...\Rockstar Games\EFLC\TBoGT\pc\data ...\Rockstar Games\EFLC\TLAD\pc\data Location of hud.dat: ...\Rockstar Games\Grand Theft Auto IV\common\data Or: ...\Rockstar Games\EFLC\common\data Location of carcols.dat, handling.dat and vehicles.ide: ...\Rockstar Games\Grand Theft Auto IV\common\data Except that the DLC has separate files which are here: ...\Rockstar Games\Grand Theft Auto IV\TBoGT\common\data ...\Rockstar Games\Grand Theft Auto IV\TLAD\common\data -> Again, the DLC folders for the downloaded DLC versions may be in the XLive folder. Or: ...\Rockstar Games\EFLC\TBoGT\common\data ...\Rockstar Games\EFLC\TLAD\common\data Make backup copies of any of the files before you modify them! This would include the timecyc.dat, carcols.dat, handling.dat, hud.dat, hudcolor.dat and vehicles.ide files. I don't know how long this file will stay on FileDropper. If it's been awhile since this post the file may disappear. Other thoughts: I believe the TimeCycReloader.asi file was made by Alexander Blade, his files have always been safe to use. The virus warning is probably real but I believe that file may be OK to use. Because of what the file is intended to do (modify a running program's data memory) the code is identical to what a genuine virus would use. _none
@zBobG Merci ! But I searh TimeCycReloader.asi for the Patch 1.0.0.4 (1.0.5.0 the same), because the file not work when you click on "F1", gta 4 crashed . Thks a lor !
zBobG
Oh, it's you Chuck! {Re: the "French-guy" remark in another post.} Sorry, I can't support this application. I am only making it available to those who want to try it. I have no clue if it works or not. Yes, it's entirely possible that EditIV will totally destroy your timecyc.dat file (or any other file you modify). I hope you made a backup of your vanilla timecyc.dat file (or the other files) before you messed around with it. What's "F1" for anyway? You mean press "F1" in-game? Are you trying to modify an EFLC (the retail disk version) file without first unencrypting it? The three versions of EditIV at GTAGarage all have the very same version of TimeCycReloader.asi, all three will give a virus warning. I expect that any version of TimeCycReloader.asi will give a virus warning. The TimeCycReloader.asi file is not needed in order to just edit the timecyc.dat file. Kenny457
Darn I just wanted to use the timecyc global weather changer, but it fails..does anyone have one like that? Doesn't work on a fresh clean backup copy or anything, it always says the "not a valid floating point value". zBobG
...it always says the "not a valid floating point value". Are you trying to use EditIV on the EFLC (TLAD/TBoGT) files? The files used in the retail disk version of EFLC are encrypted. You must use Alexander Blade's Unlocker to unencrypt the files before you can edit them. Or are you saying that when you edit a value that you get an error message?
_none
@zBobG "F1" is the shortcut to reload timecyc, don't Work for the 2 recent patches (1.0.4.0 & 1.0.6.0) . Ok Thanks The "American Guy" !

Nope I am using it on GTA IV and am running patch like 1.0.0.3 or something cause I have having problems with the newer ones and I don't care much for online. My timecyc is not "read only" and even if I click global weather changer without touching anything the same error pops up. I am just wondering if its just me or does it work for you all? I am on win 7 x64 tried on win xp too but didn't work My timecyc.dat opens up I can see it all but the global weather changer does not seem to work at all oh and I can mod everything so that is not the problem like everything in the common etc. nothing is read only etc. edit - I guess it isn't just me, just bad programming...doesn't work for my friend either, well this sucks back to iv needle no virus detections there Edited April 30, 2010 by Kenny457
zBobG
I guess it isn't just me, just bad programming... You are probably right, EditIV might not work for all versions of GTAIV. The author has not updated EditIV for some time, I assume there are some bugs in this version v1.2.8 and it looks like it might not get updated again if ever. A heads-up for everybody: The TLAD/TBoGT and EFLC vehicle configuration files have changed from GTAIV. The relevant vehicles have changed as well as the configuration files. Consequently, this version of EditIV cannot be used to edit the vehicles or handling configuration for the TLAD/TBoGT DLC games in either the downloaded DLC or in the EFLC retail disk version. And in case you didn't already know, changing some of these configuration files may prevent you from running the game in online mode.
_none
Good so I can be solved the problem about the virus "timecycreloader". That the new pack containing the same file but this time so no viruses (called me if it don't work!)
