They may be America's team but the Cowboys almost always enter every season with Super Bowl aspirations and get bounced in the first round of the playoffs or not even get in.

Romo is slightly overrated in my opinion. They do have a solid defense though.

I can't stand the Cowboys. They are overrated. Their offense is good and the defense is just OK. They're not the best team in the NFC East, I would say that they are currently the third best. I don't trust their secondary, it can be easily exploited if you can avoid the pass rush. Terrance Newman, despite what others say, is not an elite cornerback. Mike Jenkins, is in his second year and if he stays healthy this season maybe their secondary will be better. However, I also don't trust Orlando Scandrick or ANY of their safeties. The defense has a solid front seven but the secondary can be easily exploited if you can avoid getting sacked.

I can't wait for the season to start already. Thursday's game should be awesome.

It will be awesome indeed. biggrin.gif

And agreed on the Cowboys, they're in the same boat as Ohio State and Notre Dame, being mediocre teams but always having the media sucking on their dick. DeMarcus Ware is a beast, but besides him there aren't many bright spots on that team. I'd say seven wins is their ceiling.

glad to see the cowboys at the top of the polls.

Well of course America's biggest bandwagon team will get the most votes.

Oh you mean the Pats??

Ever wonder why the Cowboys are called America's team?

No, but ever wonder why after winning those consecutive rings most people started becoming Pats fans?

See, thats deserved bandwagoning. the cowboys don't deserve bandwagoning, yet they still have it.

Pats have bandwagoning, because they actually DID something.

No, but did you ever wonder why most casual NFL fans root for the Cowboys?

The Pats have had the most bandwagon fans, I will admit that, but the Boys have the biggest bandwagon of all professional sports.

Undeserving?

The Boys were the Pats of the 90s. They won three Super Bowls in four years just like the Pats did a few years back. That Dallas team is etched in my mind as the finest football team I've ever had the privilege of watching in my lifetime.

Everyone talks about the triplets: Troy Aikman, Emmitt Smith and Michael Irvin...and rightfully so, but they had a phenomenal supporting cast too. Some of you guys are probably too young to remember guys like Alvin Harper, Jay Novacek and Moose Johnson, but they were among the best in the league at their respective positions.

Not to mention they had what many believe was the greatest offensive lines in history including absolute monsters like Big Cat Williams, Larry Allen, Nate Newton and Mark Stepnoski. Their D had a bunch of perennial Pro-Bowlers in Deion Sanders, Charles Haley, Leon Lett and Darren Woodson plus a bunch of really solid starters in Russel Maryland, Ken Norton Jr., James Washington, etc.

Now, I get what you're all saying about them playing poorly this decade...but there's no denying that they're among the most storied franchises in the history of the NFL.

Yeah, that, but it has been several years since then, and they haven't done anything.

Yet, living in texas all I hear about is 'dem cowboys, How 'bout them cowboys.......blablablabla.

The main reason I hate the Cowboys is because they are the biggest sellout team in the world, they have Cowboys CHARCOAL for f*cks sake. CHARCOAL!!!!

Now I can see teams having merchandise, but having a cowboys logo on just about anything and everything is ridiculous. Which is one reason why they are the most valuable franchise in the NFL right now.

People still in Texas talk about Tony Romo this, Marion the Barbarian that, but do they talk about AJ in Texas........no.

glad to see the cowboys at the top of the polls.

Wow and after all these years of them sucking....and still thinking they are what they were.

for the record: I'm philadelphia born and bread, so I had to make a comment like that. They make us.

Glad the NFL is back baby !!!!!!!!!!!!!1

Although i still dont agree with the OT rule, but hey the Steelers won but im pretty damn sure that the Titans will bounce back from this and make the playoffs easily.

*sigh*

Oh, Jake Delhomme doing his best to cost us games again I see. I knew it was a mistake to give him that extension, proved to me that Jerry Richardson isn't interested in winning a title, really.

EDIT: Hey what do you know, another turnover! I knew they were gonna be f*cking garbage this year.

Lol at the Bungholes.

Yes I know that was one of the most bizarre plays I've ever seen in my entire football watching career. Poor AG must be heart broken.

I'm not even kidding bro. I just had Direct TV come out yesterday so that I could get the NFL Ticket. Sure, it's a few hundred bucks more per year than I was paying for comcast, but hell, it'd be worth it when we start living up to our potential and win some f*cking football games. Right? Right.

And I get this horsesh*t?!?!

Also, that's Ryan Clark in your av, right? Everyone give Polamalu props, and rightfully so, but I love watching Clark too. Didn't dude knock himself out a couple of times last season while laying a hit on someone? You gotta appreciate that.

The 49ers: defeated the reigning NFC champs and currently having an undefeated season. colgate.gif

Things are looking up for us (and about time). I have a lot of faith in Mike Singletary as a head coach, and Shaun Hill as a quarterback, as long as he keeps playing his style of football and doesn't get too crazy. We could finally have a good year.

Knock on wood.

Brees is a f*ckin' monster. I think he'll end up breaking the passing yards and possibly even the TD mark this year. Saints are a top contender this year for the NFC.

Broncos? Loved it. haha icon14.gif

And were is Xboxless now that the season has started, and the Texans just suck like usual. biggrin.gif

Actually the Eagles beat the Cowboys 44 to 6 on the last game of the season, and that game was for a playoff birth. But hey, whatever floats your boat.

Dude, NFL Sunday ticket is the best thing that exists on TV. I would literally drop cable if it was necessary to keep NFL ticket, it's just that awesome. The gamemix channel is the best part where you have all the games on one screen, and can switch the audio back and forth between them... then there's the redzone channel where it shows games that have teams that are about to score... god I'm just so happy it's football season.

And yeah that's clark in there. Having a hammer like that in your defensive backfield really is great, I can't remember the last time Pittsburgh had someone who could hit like that. And as a matter of fact he did knock himself out last year, he hit mcgahee against the ravens in the AFCCG and got the game sealing forced fumble. McGahee was knocked out longer though. turn.gif

I still have hope, we seem to always suck at the beginning of the year, but hopefully we can pull it together BEFORE we are completely out of the playoff race...................................................................despair.

I'm an optimist you see, nothing can get me down............yet I didn't even wanna check the internetz for a whole day. Cause' half the stuff I go to involves the texans in some way, and I was just sad.........

I say this all, but right now, I am highly doubting it happens, seriously, how the crap does our awesome offense go from awesome to absolutely the worst offense ever. I dunno what to say about this game, I hate it, I hate what happened in it, but I still have hope, I always do. Right now tho', my hope is looking more like uncontrolled insanity..........UGH!!!!!!!!!!

damn i can't believe the f*cking bills, gave up the win like that. still wish we had t.o. in big D. but i guess it wasn't meant to be.

EDIT @ tobias: no sh*t the eagles won. i never said they didn't win dumbass. i said when's the last time they won a superbowl.

@ Blowdro - TO is overrated. You guys will do better without him on your team. Only 2 reps for 46 yards in his Bills debut, they almost won but not cause of TO.

yeah he is overrated. he did make some good plays though. but he always dropped the f*cking ball. i just don't like the whole "romo friendly" thing. i mean he's a good qb when he's not f*cking choking in december.

@ gta3rockstar. that guy should have never fielded that kickoff, he f*cked it up for the bills. i thought they were actually going to beat the pats. i hate those cock suckers.
