I personally wont be watching or partaking in anything dealing with the NFL until Michael Vick is no longer playing. It goes to show that the power of fame and money can get you though anything. I can only imagine the protest, and how the fans feel in Philly about this.

With that said, I hope the Cowboys do well.

I don't think Vick is sorry at all, he's just damn lucky Tony Dungy is a sucker. Vick is sorry that he got busted.

It's funny you guys act like your outstanding citizens. I'm sure if you ever made a mistake in your life that you regret you would hope people would give you a second chance. Vick has apologized and EVERYONE that has talked to the man individually has said they feel he truly is remorseful, except for you. Why? I have no clue. And please don't use the "felon" excuse. There are soooooooooooo many players in the NFL that have committed various crimes. Why are people not going out of their way to trash, or boycott the league lol, Dante Stallworth, Ray Lewis, Leonard Little, Chris Henry.. etc. B*tching and moaning about protesting the league, that's laughable.

That is exactly why they are telling this guy to grow a pair.

Oh, newsflash dude, if you are gonna protest anybody, protest the United States judicial system.

Let's Compare

Donte Stallwort, DUI, Intoxicated Manslaughter............nothing.

Plaxico Burress, Unlawful owning of a gun................Doing a hell of a lot to him, as deservedly so, but compared to Stallworth..WTF!?!?

Michael Vick, Dog Fighting/animal abuse............Did a hell of a lot, but compared to Stallworth....WTF!?!?

So dude, if you are gonna protest anything, don't protest against a man who killed dogs, then not even care about a man

who KILLED another man.........get your shiznat straigt, dude.

This is you >>> "Oh no he killed a lot of dogs, oh but nevermind the guy who RAN OVER another human being, while drunk."

There's a difference in a mistake and doing what Vick did for years. Don't give me that sh*t. I don't want to hear it.

Donte Stalworth made a mistake one night.

Vick did what he did for FIVE YEARS and not once did he stop and ask himself "Is this wrong?". It wasn't until he had to go to prison to realize what he was doing was despicable. I know I'm not perfect, but I didn't brutally kill animals for 5 years either. He's just going through the right motions, saying the right things, and acting like he gives a sh*t just so he can get on Roger Goodell's good side.

So look, I'm just not convinced he's truly remorseful for his actions. So sue me.

There is more than just Vick who has f*cked up that is still playing in the league. If you dont like that he is back then fair enough boycott the league nobody is going to miss you. This is his second chance now and if he screws up again then yeah he should be out of the league for good but everybody does deserve a second chance. Stallworth has done alot worse than what Vick did but because he wasnt as big of a star as Vick people just brushed it aside. Im glad to have him back i just hope he plays football now and we dont hear about his private life again.

Stallworth f*cked up by deciding to drink and drive one night. That's a mistake, albeit a bad one, and he deserved every bit of the 1 year suspension.

Vick knowingly killed other living things for years, which is a lot worse in my book than being stupid one night. I bet there aren't many in the league that haven't taken the wheel of a car when they weren't supposed to, but Stallworth just happened to hit somebody, that was jaywalking.

Vick did more than f*ck up, he continued to do what he did over a long period of time, that's not a mistake, it's a lifestyle, and I don't think he's sorry at all.

Gotta agree with that one, really the only mistake Stallworth made was drunk driving, he just happened to be at wrong place/wrong time when some retard tries running across the freeway. More of the own guy's fault he died if you ask me.

Ok but i consider a persons life alot more valuable than a animals. Yes it was a mistake and Stallworth didnt mean to do it, but at the end of the day he still did it, you cant change that.

And i agree that it was Vicks lifestyle to do what he did and im never going to condone it, but you can change your lifestyle and you can become a better person from it. I do believe that he is sorry for what hes done, but you have to give him a chance. I hope im not wrong and that hes has truley changed but im willing to give him a chance before i start to say he doesnt deserve to be were he is.

You don't get what I'm saying here. At all. I'm not condoning Stallworth's actions at the least, but I consider what Vick did to be much worse, because he had intent and he continued to do it for years. He had time to think "This is wrong", but it wasn't until he was caught he started acting like he is remorseful. Wait until he does the bare minimum to help animals and quits. You'll see then he's just trying to get back into football and nothing else. Stallworth hit a guy that ran across the street in front of him, I'll go as far to say it would have happened if he was sober. Is it sad that someone died? Yeah it is. But would he have been hit with the car had he not ran out into traffic? No.

Stallworth stayed at the scene and called the police when it happened, he was compliant with the investigation.

Vick lied to the commissioner about his involvement with a dog fighting ring for years, and was actively involved in killing dogs, and it wasn't until his back was in a corner that he admitted to doing so.

Giants game Monday night. Finally, I need my fix.

I can't wait till the Monday night game between Texans and Vikings.

Usually on the third and fourth preseason game starters get significant time, and I, so far, like what I see from Matt Schaub.

He was 7 for 7 and had like 70 yards, tho' early in the game there was one break down and he got sacked.

After that the O-line looked nice at one point, just before Schaub passed it to Dre', the O-line was holding solid.

The defense was still iffy, our D-line looked pretty nice, but our Secondary was a little bad.

Hey Runey i understand what your saying, but Stallworth also had time to think "This is wrong" even when your drunk you still know that perhaps you shouldnt drive a car. Anyway im just glad that Vick is back and hes done his time and wheter you believe he is actually going to carry out on some of the stuff hes promised to do then time will only tell.

Not a bad first game for the Giants. We won 24-17 against the Panthers. We scored a touchdown right as the clock hit 0:00 in the fourth quarter.

As annoying as he is, you kinda have to feel sorry for him, he is one of the last football players to play for the love of the game.

He loves playing it so much he just doesn't wanna ever give it up, and it makes him sad that he has to give it up at some point.

Now this is just speculation, but, the reason he does all this publicity stuff is because it's the only way he can still be sort of involved in the NFL, short of coaching.

He loves the NFL so much that he is driven sub-consciously to be involved in it any way he can. monocle.gif

Now, don't quote me on this, I am not a psychiatrist.

It's either this ^ or he is just a narcissistic jerk..........

What???

Look Favre has retired and comeback more times than i can remember, so him doing it one more time isnt a huge shock to me. Hes got alot going in his favour by going to the Vikings, its not the attention that he wants, he just want to carry on playing football. And i for one see nothing wrong with that. Now is he going to be great like his MVP years, perhaps not but he will be better than either Jackson or Sage would of been so the Vikings have upgraded there team.

Brett Favre could of been in the NFL Hall of Fame, but he has to come back and go out again, so hes just going to die down and not be there. But as a Vikings fan I gotta say hell yea! Jackson never passes and always scrambles, so now we got someone who passes, if we wanted a run play, we would have sent Adrian Peterson out there!

Favre WILL be and has always been a first round vote into the Hall of Fame.

That said, I say they use Favre up until about the last 5 games of the regular season, and then give Sage the starting job.

I was watching NFL live, and I think he threw something like 13 TD's to 34 ints in the last 5 games of a season over like 2 seasons.

So yeah, kick him when it gets close to the end of the year.

It is to the Packers fans. Not only did he leave Green Bay because he had to compete with Aaron Rodgers, but now he signed with their division rivals. That would be like if Roger Staubach came back and signed with the Eagles or if John Elway signed with the Raiders.

Hes got alot going in his favour by going to the Vikings, its not the attention that he wants, he just want to carry on playing football.

Which is why he retired twice and came out of retirement twice this off season?

Now is he going to be great like his MVP years, perhaps not but he will be better than either Jackson or Sage would of been so the Vikings have upgraded there team.

Yes, the Vikings have made a huge upgrade by signing a 40 year old QB. Yep, nothing can go wrong there.

Anyways, if Farve had some kind of season ending injury, I wouldn't be crying about it.

Tobias first off how is it a huge shock that hes gone to the Vikings when people have been talking about him going there for sometime now.

Second, its the NFL whatever players do they are going to get attention. Wheter it is wanted attention or not.

Thirdly, yes even though he is 40 and his arm may not be like it was, he is still alot better than Jackson or Sage are at this time. I have more hope of the Vikings winning the SB with Favre than without him.

I was going to post a long response to this post, but I decided to let a Packer fan from another forum tell why he hates him.

[this is me] are from Wisconsin and grew up watching and adoring Brett Favre. Remember Chuck Norris jokes? Before there were those there were a similar brand of joke, but with Brett Favre as the star. People really loved him.

Favre has been talking about retirement for years, like 4 or 5 IIRC, and finally when the team is like, "Okay, Brett. It's decision time again. Staying or retiring?" The majority of Packers fans wanted him back, even though he was aging, rather then testing Rodgers just yet. The team was ready to accept him back at his throne. He says, "Retiring." And for a good while everybody thinks he's retired, until he's like, "Wait! No, I change my mind." And the team is like, "Okay, well now if you want back you can compete against Rodgers for the spot." That doesn't fly with him. He wants to go to the Vikings, but there's no way that the team is going to do that, even though the Vikings offer the best deal. A good # of people think that he wanted to go to the Vikings so that he could play and beat his former team of 16 years. So he ends up going to the Jets. Plays there, yadaya. This year he "retires" again and Packers fans breath a sign of relief because deep down in their hearts they still love him and forgive him for being such an indecisive baby. However, THIS makes the headache of the past feel like an ocean breeze. It's a betrayal. The Vikings? He really does just want to beat the Pack, imo. Hath he no love for his team, his true and only team (outside of that one inconsequential year at the Falcons...and then the Jets)? I lived in a city on the Missisippi so there were a lot of Viking fan crossovers. I have memories as a kid of jeering the Vikings fans, with Brett Favre's prowess being my favorite weapon. This is too far and it'll take a while before his memory sits untinged.

Anyways, Favre sucks now. What happens if Peterson gets injured? Do you expect him to carry the Vikings to the postseason? And what happens if he gets injured? I have expect his arm to fall off halfway though the season.

Im not a Packers fan though so he could go to anybody he wants and i wouldnt be bothered one bit, not everybody is a Packers fan.

And i dont know wheter that Favre would lead the Vikings to the postseason if AP went down but he'd have a hell of a better chance than Jackson or Sage would IMO. But again there are alot of ifs and buts before every season, we can only watch and see i mean who thought that Cassell would do so well last year, the Cardinals would reach the SB and so on. We'll be able to have a better idea after week one of what he and the Vikings are going to do.

The Vikings better hope they reach the SB or they just waster 35 million dollars on a QB who will probably quit the team after the season is over.

I'm VERY surprised the Vikings shelled out $25M for Favre. He's aging, was a disappointment last year, has missed almost the entirety of training camp, and it's not like he was in high demand. I would not be happy about this at all if I was a Vikings fan.

They knew what they were getting when they signed him, so even if they don't, it's still their choice.
