Btw, Defense wins Championships!

Not in Fantasy Football it doesnt, but you go with that method and see were you end up biggrin.gif

Eh, you might be right there, never played fantasy football.

Ill give you some freindly advice as you seem a good guy, take TE and Kickers first, always seem to go quickly in the draft. Plus they give you a ton of points.

I've been playing since 2002, and that right there is some solid advice.

Look me and gta_player5 agree and weve done quite well over the years on FF, but TE get more points than people realise, trust us.

I know what I am doing, but, this will be my first Live Draft, so I might not do to good.

Tho', I got these guys in a mock draft........

1. Steve Slaton (Hou - RB)

2. Andre Johnson (Hou - WR)

3. Kurt Warner (Ari - QB)

4. Matt Schaub (Hou - QB)

5. Owen Daniels (Hou - TE)

6. Hines Ward (Pit - WR)

7. DeSean Jackson (Phi - WR)

8. Tennessee (Ten - DEF)

9. Kris Brown (Hou - K)

10. Le'Ron McClain (Bal - RB)

11. Steve Breaston (Ari - WR)

12. Visanthe Shiancoe (Min - TE)

13. Mason Crosby (GB - K)

14. Justin Fargas (Oak - RB)

15. Jake Delhomme (Car - QB)

Pretty good, tho', I probably didn't need to get two Kickers, but hey, it was my first time.

That was a mock draft, so I don't care too much, I mainly wanted too see what other people do.

Pretty good WR core, just kinda weak in the RB department.

1. Decent pick

2. Great pick

3. Ok pick Warner wont do much this year

4. Two QB's already? Should of take a RB as Schaub will probably be injured most of the time again

5. Decent pick

6. Good pick

7. Ok pick

8. Good pick

9. Too early for a kicker here

10. Bad pick

11. Ok pick

12. Who? tounge2.gif

13. Another kicker? suicidal.gif

14. Bad pick wont play much so

15. Another QB snhould of taken Jake in Schaubs spot if anything

^^^

Thats what i think of your picks, i think you've got a ok team but its nothing special. I would say only have two QB's and 3 - 4 RB's as they generate alot of points for you as you can play more RB's compared to the one QB. But if this was for real what were you going to do when the Texans bye week rolls around as you've got noone to cover for them. But if this is your first time its a decent effort icon14.gif

That was a good one, made me laugh.

Now, the reasons I support them...

1. sort of Local team....

2. They aren't the cowboys. tounge2.gif

3. The players have great character, so far none of them are a T.O.

4. They actually have a chance of doing something in the next few years.

5. Fun to watch players develop, and how they slowly become better.

I've got some cautious optimism for the Niners this year. I trust Singletary as the head coach, and I think we'll keep improving, especially with Shaun Hill starting. I'd be happy with a 9-7.

I purposely put slowly there, cause they are slow, I was also kind of talking about Schaub, he has gotten better, just needs to stop getting injured/getting cheap shotted until he is injured........I am looking at you Jared Allen.

I'm a Skins fan, and I'm not looking forward to this year. We have Zorn again this year as coach after he thoroughly demonstrated that he cannot be an NFL head coach last year. The guy insists on calling his own plays and running this pseudo-West Coast offense bullsh*t, which more or less consists of running the ball between our weak tackles and calling a 5 yard slant route when we need 8 yards. What really kills me is that we have a guy with a cannon for an arm in Jason Campbell, yet we never throw the ball downfield. We also play in a tough division, with the Eagles and Giants (Cowboys appear to be in utter disarray right now, I'm not planning on them making much of an impact this year). The Eagles are going to come back completely healthy this year and there's no reason to believe the Giants will be anything but a force again this year. As of now I'm planning on a 7-9 season, finishing third in our division.

Our big acquisition this offseason was Haynesworth, which I am less-than-thrilled about. He played well last year, but it was a contract year and the guy is known to have attitude issues. On top of that, the Skins have a long, long tradition (under Snyder) of shelling out massive money for a guy who eventually underwhelms. Brandon Lloyd, Dana Stubblefield, the list goes on and on. We haven't done anything to improve our O-line, which was a huge problem last year, and aside from Haynesworth we haven't done anything for our D-line which was incapable of applying any pressure last year. As I said above, I'd be very surprised if we won more than 7 games this year.

Agree with you on Haynesworth when i saw you make that deal, i just laughed, i mean hes a good player but not worth the type of money you have shelled out for him. Plus is he going to play as hard now knowing hes got all that money in the bank? I dont. But i still see you as a 8-8 team made 9-7.

He is without a doubt the best defensive tackle in the NFL. However, he doesn't play like the typical d-tackle. He is great at stopping the run and he's very disruptive in the pass rush. He's a very good player, but he comes with the risk of suspension because of his attitude problems. He will drastically improve your defensive line, especially after you drafted Brian Orakpo in this year's draft. Orakpo was a great pass rusher in college, winning many awards both in his freshman and senior years, and I don't see why he won't be able to do well in his NFL career, especially playing alongside Albert Haynesworth.

I can understand your concern after Dan Snyder shelled out that cash, making another player the highest paid player at their position. Does Adam Archuletta ring a bell? Snyder made him the highest paid safety in NFL history and he flopped. Him along with the players that AR mentioned, I understand why he might be weary about Haynesworth. This is coming from a neutral party, I'm not a Haynesworth fan, nor am I a hater, and I have nothing against the Redskins, Haynesworth will do well. I'm not sure he's worth THAT much money, but he won't flop like other signings in the past.

Now, onto my prime topic; the NFL Network. NOTE: This may spark an argument tounge.gif . It was once a great network, giving great insight and up to the minute news, getting stories well before ESPN got them. However, recently it's become unbearable. It might as well be renamed NESN 2. The NFL Network just ran a series where they were naming the top five players at each position over the course of a couple of weeks, and to finish off the series they named their top five players in the NFL overall. Who was the number one quarterback? Who was the number one player in the NFL? Tom Brady. People need to open their f*cking eyes. Brady is the most overrated player I have ever seen in American sports. People argue that he won Super Bowls with poor receivers. They say that because they want to make him seem better than he is. Troy Brown was a solid receiver. Deion Branch was a second round pick simply because he's 5'9". Did that stop him? No, he caught 21 passes in 2 Super Bowls, setting the record for receptions in one of them with 11 and 133 yards being named the MVP. Daniel Graham, yes the tight end, was a first round pick. He was actually picked ahead of Deion Branch. Also, Brady had a good running back in Corey Dillon for a few years before Moss got there. Brady has had good enough receivers and he never did anything worth mentioning STATISTICALLY SPEAKING. His career high in touchdowns before Moss got there was 28 and he had 14 interceptions to go with it. When Moss gets there, a superstar receiver, he goes up to 50 touchdowns and goes down to 8 interceptions. What I'm saying is, people need to realize that without a superstar receiver Tom Brady is nothing. I said it, nothing. He did well and won Super Bowls on the back of an incredibly solid defense and the leg of Adam Vinatieri.

I could go on forever, but I think I'll stop here for now. tounge.gif

I think Tom Brady isn't the best but nor do I think he is overrated. Plus, if you want to bring up statistics in the conversation, we could bring up John Elway. 27 touchdowns was his season record and you can't say because of Terrell Davis. Even before then, Elway only had two seasons with 20+ touchdowns before TD got there. Though, you can say he did have the best Tight End of all time and the best undrafted WR.

Either way, if Tom Brady wins one or maybe two more super bowls. I don't think you can say he's overrated. icon14.gif

<Snip>

Elway carried the Broncos though. Sharpe's first year in the NFL was in 1990 and Smith's first year in the League was in 1994. Elway had already been to 3 Super Bowls before then and he had already set Denver Bronco passing records without either of them. He was a damn good quarterback before those two joined the team, also one of the most clutch QB's ever up to that point, and he only became better with the addition of them. He made Shannon Sharpe arguably the greatest tight end ever, and he made Rod Smith the greatest undrafted wide receiver ever. It started and ended with John Elway. After he retired they were never the same. Compare that to the Patriots. Matt Cassel looked like a Pro Bowl quarterback. Sure he didn't throw up 50 touchdowns, but he threw over 3,600 yards and had a quarterback rating of 89.4. Cassel hadn't started a game since high school and he steps in and does that. It's the system that was in place. The system and the superstar wide receiver are what make Tom Brady appear so much better than he really is.

Most likely, let's see if it is. Cassel's in KC, if he does something then maybe its something with with Belichick. icon14.gif

Though, I don't think that Patriots will do anything this year. Brady will be a rusty bastard.

I agree Brady is overrated i said this for years, the best QB is Peyton Manning IMO, but there is no taking away what Brady has done. Yeah your right it is the system hes in as the Patriots always put a good team togheter from top to bottom, any QB would thrive in New England but i dont think that should take away from Brady.

I personally feel the falcons are gonna do VERY well this year.

You have fricking Gonzo now, thats more than enough to make a team better, and then Michael Turner.

Michael Turner, I think, is going to have a drop-off from last year, but, and this is a big one, he did so well last year that even doing well this year would still be a drop off.

Saints are in the same boat as the Texans, crap defense, great offense..........just need to get that defense better.
