Osric Posted August 12, 2009 Share Posted August 12, 2009 NATO Chapter 1-Back On Base It was just another day at Martin Infantry Base, located in Southern Lebanon. The base was a standard military fort, with concrete walls, steel fences, barracks building, a field hospital, a helipad, and other small buildings for different things. It was a cramped and miserable place, the days were blazing, the nights were freezing. I couldn't stand it anymore, even though I was a sergeant and slept in higher quality barracks. It was a U.S. Army base, built to protect Coalition interests from Ivan Zharov's terrorist allies, as well as the armies of Iran and Syria. NATO, Israeli, Russian, and Japanese soldiers all fought hard here to crush the Mujahideen forces and foil the Zharov plans. My name is Sergeant James Covington, and I am a member of the United States Army. I sat in the plain, beige-walled Rec Room with my close friend Victor Yang, a young grunt soldier from the same town as I came from. We came from Elwood City, Pennsylvania, a small town near the West Virginia border. I was 34 years old, ten years his senior, but we had common interests and memories of our hometown. He respected me as if I was an officer. Now, I wasn't the base commander, no, that was Colonel Michael Valentine, a complete idiot if you asked me. He only got to Colonel because he had a senator for a father, and his management skills were poor at best. Whenever there was the slightest sign of Mujahideen presence, he would panic and wet his pants, even at something meaningless like illumination flares from allied bases. Colonel Valentine drank all day and paid no attention to his troops. That went to Lieutenant Jason Quint, his right-hand man and the real power behind the throne. Victor and I sat there, drinking Pepsi and eating Take-&-Bake pizza from a local grocery store. It tasted very good, and the abundance of these pizzas in the base pantry were one of the few good things here. We talked about different things, ranging from television we missed, to Victor's young pregnant wife back home. "So, James, how's things in the command? Last I heard Colonel Valentine cowered behind his desk when he saw that pickup truck go through the gate. We all knew it was just a delivery truck full of toilet paper for the base. Hell, there weren't even any Arabs in that truck, just friendly Israelis. What a dumbass." "Hell, yeah. I feel sorry for Lieutenant Quint. He has to do all the work around here while all Colonel Valentine does is guzzle Jack Daniels and lay around asleep on his own desk, passed out drunk." "Yeah, man. I know. This sucks. I just want to see some action. I mean, I'm glad I'm not getting shot at, but it's so damn boring around here. When can we go home?" "Hell if I know, Vic. The bastards at the top are helping some two-bit Ruskie general who thinks he's a Romanov. I mean, I hate Commies just as much as the next guy, but who cares if Russia's a monarchy or a Communist State again. What does that have to do with American interests? Then there's the South American Communist Front fighting the Brazilian Army. Just be glad we're not in there. I heard it's like Dante's Hell in South America." "Yeah man, you're right. This war is bullsh*t. I personally don't give a flying f*ck about some commie geezer and his terrorist friends." As the other soldiers were playing poker and smoking cigarettes, Lieutenant Quint entered the room. He was a tall, thin man, with brown hair and brown eyes, and fair skin. He was only 29, but he had a look on his face that made him look older and wiser. Maybe it was the trouble of war, maybe it was having to deal with Colonel Valentine's bullsh*t. Who knew? But now he spoke. "Gentlemen, as we all know, the main insurgency group in this area is the Palestinian Liberation group Hezbollah. Well, I just got word from Intelligence that a large cell of Hezbollah terrorists are operating out of the village of Kharq, thirty-five miles east of here, near the Syrian border. They run drugs and stolen goods from there to further fund their operations and there is word that Zharov Party ringleader Boris Karkarov is in the area, guarded by Hezbollah militants. On a related note, three Japanese solders taken prisoner are located in a base in Kharq. Colonel says to move out and shut down their operations, as well as rescue the POW's. If Karkarov is in the area, kill or capture him as well. Make sure to kill every Hezbollah bastard in sight. Colonel's orders. NOW MOVE OUT!" Great, just great. Now we have to plunge head first into a storm of bullets. I went to my quarters and grabbed my gear, tightly holding my M16 assault rifle. She hadn't seen action all day and it was time for her to put some weirdo Palestinian militants in their graves. We moved out into the hot, bright sun, boarding our trucks and heading down the road. While the word Mujahideen is commonly associated with the Afghans, it can be any Muslim army in Jihad. So, it can be Afghanis, Iranians, Syrians, or in my stories Palestinians. I Might be missing out on a certain amount of facts here, But are all these countries involved Together, Or just Wars that seemed to have Broke out in 2011. If so, Mabey you could add in Myanmar Burma, Mabey as an Invasion, Like in the Vietnam. Bassicly it would go as, Political Prisoner Aung San Suu Kyi, has not been released along with other Political people. The Regime has become more Brutal, and They have Made friends with North Korea, as They are both helping each other Due to scantions. So Mabey the U.S or U.K interviem, and Bassicly they Go into Burma, and supply the People with weapons and the Burmese People and thye U.s or U.k interviem and help them. This would cause an Invasion, and alot of trouble Like in Vietnam, But Hey...It's world war three, The whole World is Burning up and Battling. Yeah, it doesn't interviem with other Countires like the ones in the List, But Burma has Human rights Issues, if you check the news you'll find it is a big issue. I will send PM's to the members that can be reached. All factions will have their money reset and new factions will be added, including the South American Communist Front, Japan, and Sanctum Corporate Mercenaries.
