Cleo 3 not working

Recommended Posts

Silver9990

I've looked all over the place trying to figure out how to get this working and so far I've had no luck.

I have v1 installed via the downgrade patch, I downloaded the cleo 3 zip file and extracted it to my GTA SA folder, I extracted a couple of .cs files to the CLEO folder and loaded up the game and nothing. Some help would be much appreciated.

Did you put the cleo.asi and .dll library's in the main directory?

Also, you might need to remove scmlog.ini, anyway, I never got downgraded to work, so eventually somebody showed me the CLEO .exe developed by official CLEO site.

Download: http://public.sannybuilder.com/gtasa_exe_idb/compact.rar

Install:

You need a program called WinRar to open this file.

Download WinRar: http://www.win-rar.com/download.html

When you attempt to extract this archive it will ask for a password. The password is CVehicle.

the CV have to be capitols and the others have to be lowercase.

Show me a screenshot or list of files you have in San Andreas folder and San Andreas/CLEO, so I can see what you have wrong. Also, if you have any sub-folders in CLEO folder, I would like to see them too, they have been known to interfere.

Can't help but notice the fact that you have multiple exe's and data files which are unnecessary for CLEO, perhaps they are the source of your problem, I advise you move them out of the GTA SA folder, then try it. Also, try using the auto-install instead of manually doing it, also I would like to know how exactly your game acts when you try to run it.

First, we have to check if CLEO is properly installed. You have to run GTA San Andreas, and in the start-menu or in the pause-menu you can see at the left bottom of the screen (in yellow!): CLEO 3: v3.0.950

If you see that, the problem isn't installing CLEO, but installing the mods, using the mods or of course the mods itself.

It doesn't say it in the pause menu for me confused.gif, only the start menu.

We can not support such a modified game.

Silver9990, go back and make a clean unmodded GTA SA installation.

Then start to get Cleo working.

He never said whether or not the game even starts, we just have to wait until he takes our advise and reinstalls the game,

I haven't really done anything to it other than patched it to v1, the rest of those files/folders are just for the GTA SA Control Center.

Here's another screenshot:

And yes the game starts but I don't see that info in the menu.

Reinstall CLEO with the auto-install. Then try it.

Well, I can't give any better advice than for you to reinstall San Andreas (backup the GTA Compact exe), then replace the original exe with the compact one, then try installing CLEO. Also get rid of all those data files before you reinstall it.

GTA SA Control Center may also be the source of the problem, so get rid of that.

Uninstalled/Reinstalled GTA SA, installed Cleo 3, used compact exe.

Before the menu:

Faulting application gta_sa.exe, version 0.0.0.0, faulting module gta_sa.exe, version 0.0.0.0, fault address 0x000dd5a3.

I guess it just isn't going to work, I've tried everything possible to get it to work and I always end up with a crash.

Good, now you have progress, don't give up, I had that same problem, so all you have to do now is remove a couple files, hold on while I check which ones they are, and please refrain from double posting unless you said problem solved in a post and it turns out its not.

OK, the file you need to remove is scmlog.ini and any files containing the word SCM in the filename.

Have you tried the vorbis files of JernejL (Delfi) ?

They are also available as option in the Cleo-auto-install-exe version.

Yep, I've tried all of it.

Is there anything else I need to do other than use the compact exe?

I uninstalled cleo and replaced vorbisfile.dll with the original and now the game just doesn't run.

Here's the error I get:

I just reinstalled the game and it's still crashing so I have no idea what's going on, I should have just left it alone...

Show us more screens. Show every folder that involves CLEO. Did you remove those data files like ZAZ and I said? Did you modify any other files? If you did upload them (unless its gta3.IMG of course), I recommend megaupload for that.

I don't have any mods installed, not even cleo right now, it's a clean install and it's still crashing. My game used to run fine until I reinstalled it.

Screens of your folder, I already told you you were on the right track when you got the error message before you removed CLEO. But now you changed everything I need to see what files are present to guide you to an unmodded, working version of the game.

it's a clean install

There's nothing in the San Andreas folder except the files that get installed when you install it.

Thanks for taking the time to help by the way, I appreciate it.

Well if your still having problems then you have something going on with the mods, when you uninstall the original game, it doesn't remove any files added or changed by you, just the ones by the program. So please post pics.

I cleared everything out of the folder after I uninstalled it, there's absolutely nothing in the folder except for the default files.
