Reconite
I don't play the Wii but I understand how brilliant the idea is. Now I want to see how well its rip off, Kinect, sells. I think the PlayStation Move is more of a Wii rip-off than Kinect, but maybe you're just a PC/PS3 fanboy. Kinect looks more like a rip-off of the Sony Eyetoy for the PS2 than the Wii. SaintJimmy
I don't think this was just an attempt at doing something unoriginal, it is a multiplayer massive game based on a urban environment. It is an MMO based on GTA. In other words, it's a washed-up rip off of one of the best games ever created. I don't want to say "told you so" but the truth is you all should've known better. A true masterpiece among video games is rare. GTA is one of them. My advice is to stick with it. I don't play the Wii but I understand how brilliant the idea is. Now I want to see how well its rip off, Kinect, sells. *sigh* Based on GTA? No, it's not based on GTA. For christs sake. It heavily borrows elements, namely FREE ROAMING and STEALING CARS, but for f*cks sake, it's not BASED ON GTA. I'm not sure if I want to spend any more time battling your logic. Slingaa
This game looks f*cking awesome, and nothing like GTA. It's a free-roaming MMORPG...
The-King
Looks like there's a bit of hope for this one after all. Mediocre subscription MMOs don’t die, they just go free-to-play. And so it seems that after the high-profile collapse of Realtime Worlds, following the release of MMO flop APB, the game is looking likely to re-emerge some time toward the end of this year. GI.biz reports that the K2 Network, owners of F2P service GamersFirst, is paying around £1.5 million for the intellectual property. This is currently unconfirmed, and K2 declined to respond to GI’s newshound sniffing, so maybe this could go the way of the Codies rumour from last week, or September’s erroneous Epic gossip. Call me cynical. But if it’s happening, it’ll be a way for fans of the game to re-enter its world, without the completely daft gametime-purchasing system + micro-transactions that accompanied the game’s launch. OysterBarron
well it has resurfaced its head now officially confirmed for 2011 release! it will be Free to play! http://uk.gamespot.com/news/6284101.html?t...nes%3Btitle%3B4 I got about 20 hours enjoyment out of the game, when it closed down i still had 30 hours of gameplay left out of the 50 that come with the game. I had fun driving around in my replica A-team van that i made and gameplay was ok for a while, But leveling seemed confusing to me and also bearing in mind that the customization was a big thing they dont let you do barely anything to the cars you start off with early in the game! The trouble with it mostly was the fact it was pretty much still an alpha non existent graphics options made the game pretty impposible to get a decent benchmark running so the game wouldnt play well on some machines even with everything on low! my friends beast of a quad core couldnt run this game without FPS drops and sound distortions witch alot of users reported. Lets hope they improve from what realtime started if not then what more can you exspect from a free to play game! Creed Bratton
Free to play, f*ck yeah. I actually wanted to get this game but I heard it was bad and seeing how it lasted only for 3 months I'm glad I didn't get it. But still I'm a sucker for customization and I can't wait to play this game for free. Everyone likes free stuff.

OysterBarron
well fingers crossed that this new company has a bit of experience in optimizing games for PC because i think it was obvious that realtime worlds was a bit inexperienced in the field of PC gaming! am i right in thinking that Crackdown was there only game before APB? the thing i would like to know is will users who actually brought the original game be able to use that to install or are we going to have to download the whole game again, i would just prefere to patch up! after installing from DVD. Claude Speed.
Free? Wow, i guess i might download that once it's out. Just to try it out. Wait, doesn't 'free to play' mean it's free to play multiplayer (no fees like on other MMORPGs) not that it's free to download?

Wait, doesn't 'free to play' mean it's free to play multiplayer (no fees like on other MMORPGs) not that it's free to download? Usually, but given the fact that it was GamersFirst who apparently acquired the rights, a company whose priority is Free to Play games with a heavy focus on Micro-Transactions, it'll just be like the rest of their games. I think they're just mislabeling it, especially since GamersFirst isn't really a publisher capable of pulling something like that off. |PropagandaIncorporated:|: Steam:|: DeviantArt:|: Last.FM|
AZAZEL
Free? Wow, i guess i might download that once it's out. Just to try it out. Wait, doesn't 'free to play' mean it's free to play multiplayer (no fees like on other MMORPGs) not that it's free to download? Don't be so naive. Nothing is free. You will have to buy the game 'again' (read: APB:Reloaded), and while it might be free to play, anyone familiar with the icky phenomenon that is microtransactions, it won't actually. You'll be able to log on and play with your friends, but there's bound to be some sort of level cap that you can only pass by paying some dollars. Generally, premium members will get the full experience, and there is little merit for the game's pricetag if played in the free mode.

Their only chance of making something out of this game is if they let you download it for free. Then they can try to charge you for exclusive items and stuff like that. Need for speed world gives you the entire game for free and you choose wether to buy cars with microtransactions and also stat boosts for 3 days all the cars can be unlocked without paying! so it depands how this company goes about it and what there current free business model is for there current IP's!
