All Points Bulletin

This is a new game coming in 2010, its a GTA Clone esque MMO created by David Jones the original creator of GTA and Lemmings

this game follows a PVP style mode where you choose to either be a gang member to take over a city and use your ranking of skill to unlock new vehicles, weapons and kits while offline they can upgrade defenses, change turf features or equipping AI and making busts and robberies and deals on the side too.

while the gangs are making big business there trouble is noticed by the law and a APB logo will pop when they have made some heat, if you chose to be a police officer your job is to take down the gangs and their turf and business. the police might not be always have alot of members but they make up for it by having better weapons.

from what i have seen so far this game will be worth the wait IMO except that you have to pay a fee for a month though

All Points Bulletin, is a persistent living and breathing world. The environment will be very large and you will be able to interact with the world in many ways. We currently do not know the extent of what you can do in the environment; but we can come to the conclusion in this massive world you will be able to do alot!

Servers will hold 100 players maximum and there are considered "districts" of the city. Half can be cops, half can be robbers, or depending on skill level, higher ranked players can fight in smaller numbers against greater hordes of opposition. Players can also design their own graffiti to put up around the district. Also, they will be able to trade custom designs with others.

Players will be able to perform near-ridiculous levels of customizing. Besides custom faces and clothing, the game will allow a more freeform approach to personalizing the character. Clothes can be designed; the tweak factor seems awfully high. Want some spurs on your cop's boots? Done. Want some fat laces for those sneakers? You got it. The customization extends beyond gear, too.

In All Points Bulletin, no two characters will look alike. That being said, all characters will still look human, so nothing unrealistic will be put into the customization options

The world of All Points Bulletin will be alot to explore, because of this there will be a great amount of vehicles available to you to utilize. How you get these vehicles is still unknown, whether it will take a certain amount of experience, money or if you have to steal them is still not known.

We do know once you have them, you will be able to customize these vehicles, basically with the same system as the character creation elements of the game yet, with different components. The amount of customization is really limitless, you can customize everything on the vehicle, automotive parts to your paint job.

honesty in my opinion i think this game will be worth the wait and will have a lot of fun

Doesn't do it for me atleast not from that trailer but the city is San Fiero from the narrative that is. Or San Faro.

I don't like the punk grunge gang look, I know there'll be plenty of customization options but I imagine most of the gangs are gonna look like they are straight outta Mad Max.

Definitely a cool concept though.

agreed, but i hope people dont go with that look, i think the mob and street gang look should be the best choice

Mel Gibson in Mad Max! Nothing at all wrong with that theme.

I had heard of this game being in the works for years now, if it finally comes out finished, WOW!

I also don't like the fact that there are rocket launchers in this game. That seems like it would get irritating fast. I think they should have stuck to pistols, submachine guns, and assault rifles, thanks.

I also have a hard time distinguishing the cops from the criminals with the way they dress. Is there no dress code in the San Paro PD?

The game looks sick i honestly don't see you guys' grudges against it. The concept is supposed to be that the city is over ran by gangs and violence and crime and it actually seems like a lawless state from that trailer. Also I'm guessing that whole so called punk grunge look is simply because that's how the people who made the trailer made it look. Not to mention if the game is as customizable as they say then that simply comes with people's creativity and concepts on how they want their gangs to look. MMO's aren't really my type of game as from what I get from people who play them is you have to be very active on the world and I play video games maybe 12 hours a week regularly and if I get a new game it goes up to maybe 16-20 hours a week not to mention after a while I usually get bored with games so I don't think I'd have what it takes to stay active in APB and I got the impression if you didn't stay active you may loose turf and things of that sort. Another reason is I don't have internet connection in my room lol. If there is a single player mode I'd get it. If it's as half as fun as Crackdown then this game will be great.

@ TEos

I'm pretty sure RPGs and high powered weapons like that won't be a regular in the city. I'd guess it would be like real life crime where only the most powerful and resourceful organizations have high powered weapons. I'm guessing that it may cost a pretty penny to get just the rocket launcher and the actual rockets may also cost a pretty penny. Unless you can also perform robberies on people who have those weapons. This game just seems epic. I hope GTA goes this route. Not in a sense of it being a MMO but in terms of you actually getting to develop your character throughout the game and have choices and actually seem as if you have power and money.

Have been waiting for this for years now. Sounds like such a great concept for a game. But the playability will make it or break it... I guess we'll have to wait and see

i wonder with this game that police can go rogue if they want to for instance, there is a big drug deal going on you can kill your partners and aid with the gang members escape

do you guys think they will implement allowing that ?

@TEOS the police are Id'd with a blue blip and gang members with red blip above them

Going to be pretty bullsh*t if I have to pay to play online, considering I already pay monthly for Xbox LIVE.

Still, looks like a great game.

Looks lame. Cringe worthy voice acting also.

what matters about that anyways, most of the talking will be done by voice chat

It reminds me of Saints Row, but looks less cartoony. I'll probably be getting this game.

This game is full of epic win. Definite buy for me if it comes out on PC. Should sell really well if EA doesn't step in and f*ck it up as usual.

It's abit too small scale for me.

100 players seems limited. Can you swicth servers? Easily? Is it easy too meet up with friends? Sounds complicated.

I will definitely be keeping my eyes on this though. Hopefully it's not monthly. Or I most likely wont get it.

How? I don't play MMOs but don't most servers only allow 50-100 people anyways? Also I'm guessing it has only 100 people per server because it's coming to consoles as well so they couldn't do an all out MMO experience since consoles aren't customizable as you can make a PC.

I like it, graphics seem very good for such a big game.

Didn't think the voice acting was all that bad either.

Paying for it sucks though, even more so when you pay for Live already.

Looks a lot like Saints Row, yeah. I have to say. I also think the characters look like utter asshats (why are all the women anorexic and punks? confused.gif ). despite the horrid outer shell, I'm sure underneath this game will have some great stuff, but for the moment it looks like total sh*te, sorry.

Are you not aware that everybody is created individually by the players? All those criminals and cops were created by all the people playing. So the reason the gangbangers had like pink hair and star face tattoos that's because the people in the game made them not the developers. I mean you'll have to expect anything in APB because everyone is created by the person playing them.

Hope GTA and Rockstar keep seperate from other games, more that they make the bar everyone else raises to. For me, DMA was not graphically sufficient to persuade me to buy. Even in Genesis and PS2 days I want a game that astounds graphically, that eye candy gets me to really involve myself with it. It comes from being interested in art so long, as I have.

I know a great game requires the action and challenge that tie into the graphics, but video gaming is clearly graphics centered versus board gaming, dice, etc.

I doubt it will be out in 2010, this game has been delayed various times. They can't get a final date going.

Am I the only one not excited by this game? I don't know what it is, but the game itself just looks... stale. The graphics, physics, gameplay, everything really, just looks so dull and boring. I mean I watched the trailer shown at Sony's Press Conference and the one posted on here and neither of them got me the least bit excited. To me, it just looks like Saint's Row, but worse.

I would like if Rockstar went down a similar road with GTA someday (a spin-off series) and created a MMO crime game. I think they could do a much better job than the people behind APB.

One thing I do like about this game is the customization. Though knowing the internet community it's just going to be 100 people running around in their underwear with brightly coloured hair firing rockets into eachother for hours upon end. Do I want to play a monthly subscription for that? No thank you.

So wait you don't know what the game is or anything about it yet you are saying it looks worse then SR and if R* made a similar game it would be the Bible basically? Please elaborate on how you think this game looks so bad because for a MMO it looks great and hardly anything is known about it so how can you honestly say this game looks horrible especially after you even admitted you don't even know what it is? Also this game was not shown at the Sony Press conference.

Also you're judging the physics, gameplay and everything else off a trailer? Are you serious?

MMo's usually have thousands of player's on each server.

I also dont care if it's limited because of console. 100 players simply seems too small.

Judging by that video this game seems to be like SA-MP except tons better and players limited to 100. F*ck yeah I'm getting this game when it gets released.

lol @ the riced out spin-off of a minicooper near the end. tounge2.gif

Would you rather I judged the game on information I made up in my head? Of course I'm judging the game on what I've seen before, because in the end that is all there is too judge it on. What else do you expect me to judge it on?

And nowhere did I mention that Rockstar's version would be the "Bible" (bad anaology), I simply stated that it would probably look better than this game. If you ask me it looks really weak and lacks the OOMPH! (for lack of a better word) that other games in a similar vein seem to have.

Yes I'm judging the physics from the trailers, because the trailers show the physics. I don't know what physics are to you but to me they are how the people move, objects interact with the world around them, cars handle, etc etc.

Like I said it just looks like Saint's Row Online. Nothing special. They've just managed to corner a section of the market nobody has thought of utilizing before and as such will probably do quite well.
