So, today, at the net cost of one Trophy belt(Got it for a refined) and that darn buckaroos hat, I got myself a Vintage Trophy Belt, and it's level 7 :3

 

I'm tempted to nametag it "Lucky 7"

 

 

Also, I'm trading a Brass Beast for two random weapons...

Haven't played TF2 in a while. Had other things goin' on, such honing my skills in Hammer Editor. Oh god, it can make such awesome levels...but it's such an ass to work with!

 

Decided to load up TF2. Played a match of Thundermountain as Spy on Defense...and the magic started flowing again. A great big grin upon my face as I ran about stabbing and sniping enemies with wanton glee, before vanishing into thin air.

 

Oh, I died a lot. But damn, TF2 still feels fun to me.

I crafted the axe yesterday just to prove my Pyro pride... I can't believe I got almost a full refined in a week...

 

Now I'm tempted to name it "Oblivion's Edge"

As for the tips, pretty much what cjzera said. You shouldn't worry if you die a lot at start, since that raises the chances of getting weapon drops, and also do achievements to learn some of the interesting class features, etc. And you'll get more shooting skill as you play it more.

Are the paints valuable then? Some guy just gave me the Hound Dog Head Gear, a Tribalman Shiv, a Scrap Metal and The Fists of Steel for my four paints that I got ages ago.

Paints aren't really that valuable, but if you hold on to one I'd bet you'd be able to squeeze out a bit more than a reclaimed from it. Just don't get impatient. Ten minutes ago I got rid of a crate (that's singular, one crate) in trade for a reclaimed metal and a Skullcutter. The guy who opened the crate got a Bushwacka. Then of course there's the time I moved an Amputator for a reclaimed, a Candy Cane for two vintage weapons and so on. Stick with it.

Managed to score my first few items today and on Sunday, and ranked up quite a few kills as a Scout.

 

Guess I'm moving up the (newb) stairwell.

Scout's stock weapons are the best. Mad Milk is a decent sidegrade for the pistol, but damage-based healing is no good when you're out of ammo. As for the rest, they're not quite as good. I'd love a Milkman to try out the set bonus, but my Bounty Hat is just as awesome as any set bonus.

All the tie-ins are getting a bit shark-jumpy. I wish they'd go back to the actual TF2 style (and maybe finish the Meet the Class films)..

I agree a bit on what Jelly said, however this is so far my favourite tie in... I think that up to Poker Night all the tie ins made sense... But honestly, the RIFT one made no sense whatsoever, even less the Homefront one...

 

I hope they are secretly doing something to jump at us... But I don't really count on it...
