Enjoyed playing MW2 but found it to be fairly short compared to the previous one. Maybe because I played it through in about 2 sittings rather than spacing it out or something but it just didn't seem that long to me. I did like the storyline though. Playing multi player recently has also been fairly good.

Let me tell you why I think there`s 6000 posts in this topic: There are so many load-outs of weapons, perks, killstreaks, deathstreaks, equipment and special grenades - how many combos of those can you have? A Killion? A Gigillion? Each combo is worthy of a post in some way.

 

Then there`s accolades, call-signs, emblems and challenges. The game is constantly tracking your progress and giving you sexy little rewards when you do something, and there`s always something to reach for like a nuke that you might want to ask advice about getting.

 

Then there`s chatting about what you did or what happened in a game, or the different maps or modes

 

6000 posts is understandable really.

What Sauron said, plus the fact that the game has such an effective multiplayer even if it is flawed in some ways (where the f*ck are the dedicated servers?). If this game only had the campaign this thread wouldnt be more than 10 pages long.

Personally I prefer the chopper gunner, you can really do some damage with that and the turret doesn’t overheat so you can basically keep firing from the moment it arrives on the map. Only flaw is that it can be shot down quite easily sometimes and that's where the AC130 has an advantage.

MW2 PC has been infected with hackers all over IWNet. I can't even have a single decent game on any game modes. I just wish Mr. Bowling aka 402 to bring back dedicated servers like it's predecessor has.

I think chopper gunner is the best for getting a nuke. But AC-130 is more fun. But theres some f*cking horrible maps for killstreak rewards like Skidrow. Also, I f*cking LOVE it when the enemy team is camping in the cave on wasteland. The stupid c*nts think im retarded so i switch to a class with cold blooded and flank the stupid bastards and wipe out their whole team. I've repeated this like 3 times in a game once. Stupid bastards. Semtex and noobtube+OMA is awesome for clearing it out while the rest of my team runs in and gets slaughtered by campers..

If you have an entire team of people with names like [iSLAM]Umar Khan and [iSLAM]Ali Bin Tubin while chanting in fake Arabic, then you will never, ever, EVER get into a match. People will either see you, call you muslim fa**ots and leave, or just straight up quit as soon as the match starts.

 

It took us 30 minutes to find a match with the tags, and about 30 seconds without them. I feel bad.

I met them too... well only one of 'em. They're pure trolls... the one I played with had bad connection and only used the lamest weapons (Akimbo "Bling'd" 1887's + P90).

 

Still beat the fellar though. Got my 'carepackage' setup again and used the 'carepackage' glitch against the f*cker. Didn't care I was dieing so much. my 'K/D' ratio was still positive and we won the f*cking game.

Anyway, I need to get my ass back on this game, haven't played since before christmas. I guess I've missed all the cannon fodder christmas noobs. Been way too into ACII over the holidays and still after being back at college.

 

The Twilight video was quite funny, even though I only know of Twilight mythos from all the hate it gets; I've never read or seen the series so a lot of it went over my head. Terrible accents though.

-Huge community

If you don't like this game, that's cool, but given that even on PC there is around 100k players at peak times I'd say that it's not just riding on its predecessors coattails.

I noticed a lot of people shooting down Harriers more than ever. Very few games now where someone won't shoot down my harriers.

@J4ADM - That round yeah, but I stopped equipping the nuke for the most part. I usually run Care Package, Emergency Airdrop, and AC-130. I use the AC-130 as an AWACs and tell the team where everyone is. I'm getting to the point where I have to strategize more since I want to stop trying to nuke all the time and focus more on winning every match I play.

 

I usually only play Domination, so keeping the team informed is pretty important.

 

Like Chargr said, anyone who calls in a Harrier nowadays gets put right into the entire teams' crosshairs.

Got a few more nukes with the extra Hardline class that you suggested earlier anuj, it's hilarious seeing the reactions when you pretend that you've died one kill off and then pulling the nuke.

Having only played on live seeing these scores and all the talk of Nukes is beyond me lol.

 

My highest streak is 25, But I didn't have Nuke picked cos I never see streaks that high on 360. I have never once seen a nuke outside of Youtube.

The separation of the talent bell curve is a lot higher on PC then on consoles. So many factors contribute, system performance, gaming controls (mouse, keyboard etc.) Bottom line, if you are good, you are great.

 

Most of the time on consoles the score disparity isn't so prevalent. You'd have to watch a player over a course of several games to get a full grasp of their ability. I've seen people go from 40-4 on one map to 5-15 on the next map. I've seen goose eggs on SnD and next game they break 1000. I'd personally prefer a mouse pointer to aim and computer controls but having a fused finger makes it pretty tough. So I stick to consoles.

 

Last scores pretty impressive anuj. My best ever has been 70 - 10 playing Domination on Wasteland. 2 Chopper Gunners does some serious damage when half my team was holding down the only "real" cover (the cave) on the entire map.

I know exactly what you mean Shylock, being a very avid MW2 player on Live. I often get 15-20+ kills too a usual 4-8 deaths, and i frequently see people Jag crazy scores one game, and then play 0-8 the next.
