Alright, let's hear some kick ass classes people, I want to try out some new fun classes. Something stealthy and fast or anything else

My CTF flag carrier build:

 

Primary: Silenced TAR (great maneuverability)

Secondary: Silenced Raffica

Equipment: Throwing Knife

Sp Grenade: Smoke (diversion) or Stun (to escape enemies with flag)

Perk 1: Marathon Pro

Perk 2: Lightweight Pro

Perk 3: Scrambler Pro

 

On a map like sub base or skid row you can really rack up captures if you strictly focus on going for the flag, especially 1+ in the first few seconds before the other team can even consider that you would be near their flag (considering most scrubs sprint for the other flag as soon as the match begins, leaving no one on defense). Be sure to pick the shortest/most covered route you can beforehand and on the way to the flag, take note of what the best way to return will be. Don't engage an enemy unless it is an immediate threat. And tell those idiots on your team to cover your ass!

 

Just got the thermal for my FAL and I wuv it. I wish it wouldn't zoom in so far though.

Just got three nukes today. God damn it was awesome. I absoulutely love hearing the reactions when calling it in. One guy was like "what the hell just happened?." Laughed my ass off at the end of the game.

That reminds me of some guy I was watching on justin.tv. He just hit a 20+ killstreak, and was dicking around on a remote corner of the map. He's looking up at the sky and firing wildly, and all of a sudden he sees a bright speck of white.

 

He goes "What the hell is that?... Oh." and gets smashed by a Predator.

I love Highrise on free for all and Rust. Always get the 30 kills waaaaay before the time limit.

Man some people are so stupid with the care packages, I don't usually pick them up myself, I just throw them out in the open and watch everyone crowd around trying to collect it, picking them off one by one. Too easy.

Yeah, I usually do that, when I'm actually playing tactically that is, because usually I just run around aimlessly and pick people off with either my ACR or Intervention. There's nothing funnier than calling a care package behind enemy lines, setting some C4 on or around it, then watching the other team clusterf*ck to it before getting blown to f*cking hell.

 

Anyone here got Blue or Red Tiger yet on any of their guns? I've got Blue Tiger for my Intervention, which was a breeze to get and I'm working on getting the sh*t for my ACR, which is turning out to be a bitch because the thing is so bloody accurate it makes Headshots nearly impossible unless you're actually aiming at the head.

 

Speaking of the ACR; am I the only one who thinks the ACR's iron sights are better than every other sight in the game? I've found that it's iron sights actually make the gun as accurate as a sniper, so I don't have to hook up a RDS, ACOG or Holographic sight to actually accomplish anything and can use the attachment slot for something more beneficial, like a silencer or masterkey. The ACR is easily the best gun in the game, without a doubt.

Nuke's are awesome... my killstreak setup is the following:

Carepackage > AC130 > Tactical Nuke.

 

Though the thing is I don't play constantly good (in other words: it's hard to get the AC130 since it's 11 kills.

 

I should change the carepackage or the AC130. Shamefully I've been too stupid to pick most of the 'higher unlocks' instead of the lower ones. And yeah now that I've used the chopper gunner a few times I realised it's sometimes even more powerfull than the AC130! (and it racks up kills quicker in some cases).

 

Should really unlock that one and switch from time to time...

Not going for the nuke at all, I just use:

 

Predator Missile > Precision Airstrike > Chopper

 

They are at kills 5, 6, and 7 so getting the Predator Missile pretty much guarantees the following two. With the Hardline perk and a good sniping spot I can get at least a 10 kill streak pretty frequently and keep a chopper on the map for most of the game provided it doesn't get shot down.

 

Just unlocked the M16, but am not impressed with the sight. Hopefully the red dot will serve better.

UAVs, Counter UAVs, occasionally the helicopter that brings in care packages, Harriers, helicopter support, heavy helicopter support (Pave Low - takes 2 shots), people being the gunner in a attack helicopter, and sometimes a AC-130 that has 2 sets of flares. The only thing i cant shoot down are the airstrikes and emergency airdrop cargo planes.

I've started playing like this the past two or three days. It's because to unlock cold blooded pro you have to destroy 40 killstreak rewards with CB equipped. I've now got a Stinger on most of my classes where my primary has a decent magazine size (except for my sniper where a handgun is just f*cking essential). It's great fun hearing "enemy cobra inbound" and blowing the f*cker out of the sky just as it gets to the map thanks to a swift lock on. Harriers are by far the easiest to take down though, you should be able do it without the vehicle lock on easily.

Jack the Ripper

Perk 1: Marathon (run forever)

Perk 2: Lightweight (I didn't realize that this perk also increased sprint speed)

Perk 3: Commando (increase melee range)

 

Weapon1: SMG of choice, you want to be light as possible. Equipping a LMG on this build is not synergistic with the build and will slow down your character to something like pre-Lightweight rifler levels

Weapon2: stay light, shotgun or pistols

Attachments: Heartbeat Sensor, refer to it once you're inside a building.

Equipment: Throwing Knife

Special Grenades: Stun because it slows down the enemy. The problem with flash is that they can still shoot and move while blinded. Another option is Tactical Insertion but only on large maps; your guy will be too fast on a small or medium map as to make TI redundant.

Killstreaks: UAV, C-UAV, last slot is filler but stick to low-level streaks because you're not going to last long enough for the big stuff. A nice touch would be to drop Care Packs in enemy territory and draw them in like moths.

I love it how you can svae your killstreak rewards. I often find myself mid fight with an unsued UAV, only to get a predator or something. Also, whatever my killstreak setup, UAV is a must.

 

Oh and chopper pilot = unfair amount of kills. Those rounds shoot through damn near everything.

Do the bullets the AC-130 shoot go through walls/roofs?

I was playing TDM on Favela today, and despite the fact that we were about two thousand points ahead, our team was getting raped by an AC-130. So I pull out my AT4, try to shoot it down, then I notice my camera pulling me toward the grassy area. I go over, and see a guy on a laptop. So what do I do?

 

I pull out my M4, activate the grenade launcher, and hit him with direct impact.

 

And of course I get the game winning kill.

TDM in Wastelands is great. I love the constant fights over the middle part. The tunnel intersection. My SCAR-H's heartbeat sensor does wonders there, and with a couple of stun grenades and a semtex, clearing the tunnel has never been easier.

 

Also, tip for you all. If you ever see a chopper and someone from your team is trying to take it down, but gets shot himself, take his rocket launcher and do the job yourself. That's what I did. Boy, did it feel great.

 

Also, also, I saw two guys at level 70. Speaking of which, can someone explain what exactly is the Prestige thing? Does it reset your level to 1 and basically makes you start over?

How do you take out the AC130? I've tried using various rocket launchers on it myself but it seems to fire off flares when the rocket gets near and avoids impact. A friend suggested two players shoot at it, one after the other to get it but I have never tried that. Am I missing a more simple method?

What your friend said is correct mate, the AC130 has automatic flares as protection but if two players work together and both fire at the same time, it should go down without a problem.

Yeah, pretty much. Your level is reset and you lose all of your guns, attachments and camo etc, although you keep all of your callsign stuff. Going into prestige never had any benefit before (which personally I think should still be the case, that's the whole point of going into prestige after all), but now you are given a few rewards. You get a new custom class slot, some callsign emblems/titles, and new challenges.

The Jack the Ripper build is f*cking immense I just went 26-6 with in on Sub Base. I replaced the commando perk with Ninja though and it did some wonders. Love running up to people at crazy speed.

Well, in CoD4 you would get these Prestige insignias or whatever, which are only good for making your virtual dick bigger

I'll probarly go Prestige, if I ever reach level 70 that is. You unlock the SCAR and with it it's attachment's pretty fast, so the only thing I would really miss are some of the perks. Does it reset your killstreaks?

I think it does... since you unlock them after X ammount of 'levels'.

 

Shamefully they haven't implemented somekind of feature that allows you to keep some of your weapon attachements (=> in other words, if you go prestige you have to choose one weapon each time that you want to keep and/or keep one attachement from).

 

This way you still have an advantage. Example: After prestige 1 you can choose to unlock one weapon early. Let's say I pick the ACR with Heartbeatsensor. Next prestige I can also choose another attachement for said weapon. And if they say that you can unlock each weapon with each prestige... well why not choose the first prestige what weapon you want to unlock and all the other prestiges just unlock extra attachements?

 

Yes, the 'challenges' will be 'worthless' in some way. But still, it gives you XP.
