First of all: no dedicated servers (=> lobby system like console players have). I hate that kind of system but eventually I can deal with sh*t like that (eventhough it's f*cking lame to wait a couple of minutes before you can play ONE MEASLY ROUND (5 up to MAX 10 minutes of play) and the game is over. Wait another couple of minutes before you can play again (and hoping that the host doesn't leave and/or hoping that the connection is good enough so you can play again).

 

Also: lobby system (p2p) means 'stable gameplay'... well that's what they want to make us believe... it laggs like f*ck in most cases.

 

On top of that: the game hasn't been fully tested and crashes. And trust me, I ain't the only one with crashes (and eventhough the PC community searches themselves for fixes and share this info none of them work for me).

 

In other words: if you own a console buy it for a console... or you must be a die hard PC gamer who refuses to trade in his keyboard/mouse to play with a controller.

 

I'm curious how long IW is going to take when they finally start talking about fixes for the PC version and/or adding dedicated servers. But on the other hand, why should I even think of that? They ain't going to do sh*t.

 

Well, atleast the game itself is fun... thank god for that.

Technically nothing. It's almost exactly the same as the console version, except some graphical improvements. However, that's exactly the problem. CoD: 4's PC version included dedicated servers that were fully customisable (any player amount, any round amount, custom rules, etc), modding support and communities and clans due to the formerly mentioned abilities.

However, with the exclusion of dedicated server support, any appeal for the community to progress to Modern Warfare 2 has been negated.

 

 

Looks like fullmetal's beat me to it . Anyway, I agree with you, however, I haven't really experienced any lag/crash issues offline. The online does lag momentarily every now and then, however, that's just due to the use of a player as a host, resulting in "host migrations".

Depends on what you want, flash grenades are good for use in rooms before you rush in, but using them in an open space usually is not as effective, since you had to get a close shot infront of the enemy.

 

Stuns are good for games like sabotage and capture the flag, where you can stun someone far away and then run up to grab the bomb or whatever just as they die.

 

Also, smaller maps, stuns are usually better, since they take the least amount of time to throw.

Seriously, if they want PC gamers to pay for it they should:

1) Quit anally raping the PC gamers/community (or better said: communities) without lube on a frequent basis.

2) Provide a stable system that allows players to have an endless stream of possibilities (in other words: if they want IWNET to catch on they should provide the same, or even MORE, options than dedicated servers had).

3) All with the same stability (in other words: they compare it with WoW... why not HOST stable servers yourself instead of this P2P laggy sh*t?).

4) Provide good and decent support instead of shafting PC gamers and point to blame (them of all the bad in the world)...

 

And I read one of the comments: he also stated that you can't compare both games (Modern Warfare and World of Warcraft). Apart from both being totally different (genre) of games, World of Warcraft has 'endless customisation' and you can go your own way... with all the 'unlimited possibilities' while Modern Warfare has alot of customisation (I can't ignore that) but compared to World of Warcraft it's jack sh*t.

 

Why should you pay on a monthly basis for a game with this poor ammount of customisation? World of Warcraft has a monthly fee for a reason (well, alot of reasons.... and almost everything of it is something IW/AV don't provide with Modern Warfare: main of them being is supporting thoroughly the game on PC platform).

I got 99 problems but the 360 version aint one.

 

I like the maps overall, especially Terminal, Afghan and Favela. I hate Wasteland though, it was pretty awesome in CoD2 but now everyone just camps that middle tunnel. I've also never played Rust, but I guess that's just FFA which I never play.

I love Wasteland... Favella... Terminal. Wasteland is pretty damn huge (compared to the Brecourt remake in Call of Duty 2!).

 

It's alot of fun with Domination in my opinion... and camping in the middle? Hah, that's the easiest place to get killed. Just go in one of the trenches and snipe down the trench and pick targets that come into the 'middle part'.

 

Great remake in my opinion and does alot more justice to the brilliant map that Brecourt was in my opinion (Chinatown looked good but was a HORRIBLE remake of the brilliant Carentan map).

 

Anyways, I can't wait to have my hands on C4's... one thing though, you have two of 'em or only one? It would really suck if it were only one just like with the claymores. To be honest you should have two (or atleast with the Scavenger perk have the ability to spawn with two and/or carry two of 'em if you pick up some ammo.

 

Also about the 'ghillie suits'. You unlock them with challenges if I'm not mistaken. Just take a look at your challenges... the 'Longshot challenges' if I'm not mistaken. Well, I guess you unlock those ghillie suits through 'Longshot Challenges'. I have a sh*tload of' longshot's' but I barely used sniper rifles... and if I choose to play with sniper I instantly wear a Ghillie suit. While I see others of the same level/lower level only spawn in 'normal uniforms'.

 

Can anyone enlighten me about the Presige mode? I know how it works and all, but do you get any rewards? I have read that you keep your emblems and such... but do you get anything extra? Unlock extra weapons (1911???), extra custom classes slots (I'm craving for that and that would make prestiging atleast wortwhile).

Man, Heartbeat Monitor + Thermal Scope = rapeface. I went from usually being either getting slaughtered, breaking even, or just barely eeking out a positive death/kill ratio, to totally dominating the maps. While my teammates go charging headfirst into battle, I casually walk along, identifying targets and taking them out as necessary.

 

That said, I lose my mind if an EMP goes off. I feel totally retarded.

I dunno about that, But the throwing mechanic seems to be borrowed from Killzone 2. They don't go anywhere near as far.

 

Also, I'm loving the scavenger perk, pro is amazing when I'm using a grenade launcher.

I`ll have to look into that too, I`ve been enjoying the "Nice long shot kill" message that comes up.

I'm pretty sure you unlock the ghillie suits after you complete the "Ghillie in the Mist" challenge.

 

I asked how to get them a few pages back.

Well yeah it's one of the challenges and I don't remember the name exactly. And yes that's right that's what I noticed/had seen too what you posted up (well, what you quoted from Enjoii).

I decided to try out the P90 SMG. WAY better than SCAR-H, although, if I remember correctly, it can't have a heartbeat sensor which is a big shame. But the spray of bullets it puts out (especially with Akimbo) is amazing and makes it great for close-combat and even long distances at times.

 

But I still don't get how others can already shoot me dead as soon as 0.1 of a second has passed since we saw each other... A player once said "MOAR COFFEE!", so that might be it .

Unlocked the ACR last night and boy what a gun it is! Within 3 matches I had over 75 kills with it as it’s so accurate, good ammo size, little recoil and just pure class to it. I don’t even want to spoil it with a camo it looks that good. My favourite gun for MW2 without a doubt, makes up for the loss of my previous favourite the G36C.

From what I've read, the rewards for going into prestige are the new badge (obviously), a new custom class slot, some callsign stuff and some new challenges.

No idea, I've only seen information about the first prestige and so far there are very few people that have reached further prestiges as far as I know.

48 i think, and it is a beats of a gun, i've doen most of the challenges for it and with an ACOG on it's an absolute beast, with it being accurate and having the ACOG magnify the view, you can get shots across the map that do damage on Highrise with it.

I agree, I haven't taken much of a liking to any of the maps apart from Favela, Terminal and Afghan.

 

All the rest are... meh.

 

Wasteland isn't as bad as people say it is. It's great for sniping. Invasion and Karachi aren't bad too.

 

I find most maps in MW2 generally boring, especially Rundown and Underpass.

 

I hate to compare, but I still think CoD4's maps are better, even if they are often smaller.
