God I love the SCAR

 

Anything I could improve on this build?

 

Primary: SCAR, Red Dot

Secondary: PP2000 (barely use it)

 

Equipment: Frag or Semtex, which one should I pick?

Special Grenade: Flash Grenade

 

Perk 1: Scavenger

Perk 2: Stopping Power

Perk 3: Steady Aim or Scrambler, once again, which one should I pick?

Grab yourself a decent sidearm... just be damn sure you unlock the FMJ for pistols/revolvers, it's f*cking necessary!

 

Well, I prefer semtex but grenades still roll on the floor which is a good thing if you throw grenades wisely .

 

Stopping power isn't needed per se... but on the SCAR it feels nice so you can keep it. Steady aim can also be a keeper if you tend to spray, but I hate that so go for scrambler .

 

And oh, before I forget... BLING is also usefull. And the Red Dot sucks compared to the 'holographic sights'. In my opinion it does. I HATE the ACOG though.

I'll try holographic sight. Also I just unlocked Bling so I'll try that aswell.

 

Hmm Bling takes away my Scavenger, so I don't think I'll use that. I run out of ammo enough as it already is

Isn't FMJ the equivalent of 'Bullet Penetration'? In the sense that it's completely useless unless you're actively going out making kills through concrete and tin?

 

I was trying to get extended mags for the P90 when I realized what it entailed. Right now I'm at 2/40 on a 2 day period. No thanks.

Thing is with the pistol, shooting through metal surfaces and such can be really usefull (especially when you run out of your primary weapon ammo).

 

Also, with the scrambler you can take even more advantage from your own UAV (you see them, they can't detect you on their radar or even better UAV). Which means? Sneak and knife the living hell out of them (or flash and put a few bullets in them).

its useful if the enemy has a UAV active. But i think soon most people will probably have a stinger and they will shoot down the UAVs

Doesn't FMJ increase the weapon's damage? Shouldn't that mean that they also go down faster then without it?

 

And I understand what Scrambler does, I was just wondering how big it's range is.

On the topic of sidearms and FMJ. I can't really find any reason to use anything apart from a handgun as a secondary. It must be my style of play but I only even use my secondary when I'm already in a fight and can't reload my primary, or when using a sniper and on the move; because of these I need to be able to switch weapons quickly and even switching to the Glock or P200 (yes i do realise theyre small weapons and only take so long to ready for balance) takes an age.

 

Also, FMJ finally makes sense, in Cod4 Deep Impact had no effect on damage which made little to no sense but now FMJ gives you s light increase in damage thus making it my current attachment on my handguns until i unlock a silencer.

Not sure what 'gore' you mean but you can't blow off peoples legs anymore and stuff.

 

If it's the rating you worry about, don't worry, the 'No Russian' level is the 18+ rating's insurance

 

@Wolf (Wolv?): Does Scavenger allow you to pick up other peoples' ammo? If so, that does indeed sound useful with a SCAR, I tend to run out of ammo

Actually the stores here dont really follow the +18 ratings, even a six year old could just go and buy it.

I tried the intervention with a silencer, seemed to make it weaker on TDM so now I just use thermal on it and that alone. As for perks I’m not keen on scrambler because they (enemies) know your near when the radar goes. Unlocked OMA yesterday and with that you can get around only having 1 claymore!

 

My K/D ratio is 2.28 as it stands, had some really good matches in H S&D last night which is odd as I have never really liked that game mode even on the previous COD games.

Kill death ratios dont bother me, im like 40 deaths behind kills!

I just go online to play and have fun, if i die 100 times and kill twice, as long as im having fun im not bothered

Everyday I've been checking the leaderboards, and the top is some guy on rank 70, and his score was 1 million and something.

 

Now all of a sudden, its a guy with rank 1, and his score is something like 1247164392649246294628

 

btw, I reckon COD4 has better MP, but Mw2 has better campaign

Don't you think that MW2's single player is way easier than CoD4's? I completed it in 10 hours on Veteran, first time playing. I did CoD 4 on Regular, and even that was pretty hard sometimes.

On what difficulty level did you guys complete it?

On pc i did recruit, on PS3 veteran, it all pwned and made me just say OMFG. And i love returned character. (I won't spoil it)

 

This game should at least get best game ending of year award.. That fight was just amazing!

Well I would've completed the game already by now if it wouldn't CRASH while loading the 'last level' for f*ckS SAKE.

 

Did it on veteran and yes I did it alot faster than in previous COD's. Reason? No more endless respawning enemies... though most enemies are tougher I must say (or they seem tougher and smarter).

I find it much harder than the first game, but that's just me. I didn't find it as good, either..the missions weren't really fulfilling to me. The only one I really liked was the one with all the fast food restaurants.

 

I'm rank 31 or 32, I think. I use the stinger to shoot down anything that comes in on the enemy team. This game would suck if everyone realized that the stinger can shoot down anything pretty damn fast, honestly. I hope not everyone starts using it. I got my Blue Tiger on my M4, so I'm happy. Anyone know if there are gold weapons in this game?

Scavenger Pro gives you an extra mag, I think. And I think Scrambler Pro also delays claymore detonation. Not worth using, in my opinion.

 

Also, anyone else hate it when your own teammate steals your care package when you're right next to it about to get it? It happens when I die before I can get it, but still. It pisses me off.

I got an Arctic Shillie when i got to Major, so it seems you unlock them as you progress in rank, which seems kinda weird to me, but i suppose it allows people to see normal snipers now until the unlock the Ghillie suits.

 

I'm rank 49 now, which is Lieutenant Colonel III, next rank is Colonel, and yes oldage you can shoot down UAVs, they float around in the sky like normal airsupport, just be careful if your team has one up as well as the enemy, you could shoot down yours by accident

Yeah I just unlocked it. It's worth using with a SCAR, without it you run out of ammo very fast

 

Also I keep getting kills I do not make.. I don't shoot, I don't throw grenades and I don't call in any killstreaks

You unlock ghillie suits by completing the 'Ghillie in the Mist' challenge in the Basic Training challenge section. There are 3 levels of the challenge, and you can unlock Artic, Urban and Desert (in that order).

I'm not totally sure how many kills you need for each level but I think it's 50, 100, 200.

 

Been doing pretty bad over the past couple of days. No idea why, just don't see to be getting anywhere near what I used to be getting in terms of kill/death.

Huh? I tried some 3RD Person Cage Match last night, got in a 1 vs 1 fight. Today I try it and I end up in a 3rd person Free For All Match

OK- I might be an ass when it comes to spoilers but why the hell did you not spoiler tag that sh*t?? Seriously, now I can easily predict who is going to be in this 'fight'... Unless, the fight would be a suprise. Now you ruined the suprise factor of the ending maybe..
