That box art is pretty sh*tty, not liking it one bit and the Call of Duty part is horribly positioned, might as well of left it out. Looks a bit like a GRAW front cover.

 

Saying that, i'm not exactly going to be starring at the cover for long so as long as the games good then that's all that matters .

I like how it follows suit of the old games, but it really is pretty bland. It is just box art, after all.

The game itself looks amazing. I can't wait to play S&D in the snow.

Yeah tracking in snow levels will be awesome, hopefully there are some infrared goggles, similar to the blizzard level in MGS4.

That's only if they make the blizzard so bad that you can barely see more than 10 feet away and that the foot prints doesn't dissapear. If you have infrared goggles to counter that it'll be awesome. But I doubt it though, in cod4 they never had a map where the environment really plays a part until you need to like adapt and use nightvision goggles.

Yes, but there was such a high demand for a snow type map from the community for CoD4, just so then something like Bowz suggested could become a reality, i personally hope they include the blizzard in the map, maybe have it randomize, one game it's clear and in another everything is barelt visible, would make each round of S&D on a map like that very interesting.

One thing that I really hope they don't do is release the game in November and then in December release the 'limited prestige' edition as they did with CoD4. That really pissed me off because I'm a sucker for cheap memorbillia.

 

Anither thing is that I hope that pre-ordering the game will entitle me to some sort of extra bit of entertainment because again, I'm a sucker for those things.

Take example Quantum of Solace. I pre-ordered that so I could get this kick-ass shot glass.

 

 

The novelty wore off pretty quickly as the drinking age over here is 18 and I'm 3 years off and the other thing, that's definitely more than a shot. Obviously trying to kill us with alcohol poisoning if you ask me.

 

So yeah, I hope IW is reading this and takes the hint that we would appreciate some extra bit of plastic to keep us happy.

Ok so Fourzerotwo has announced the "prestige edition"

 

Now this is how you do a special edition. Activision and Infinity Ward look to be going all out for its Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 "Prestige Edition," with not only the usual accoutrements like a special casing and an art book, but also what is described by Community Manager Robert "fourzerotwo" Bowling as a "fully functioning NVGs -- night vision goggles." No idea how well they work, but it's got alternating modes and MW2 branding. That's pretty awesome, but we gotta imagine it's gonna demand a pretty penny -- this is definitely more than that $80 "collector's edition" for $80 GameStop is currently listing. You won't be able to get your actual hands on the game until November at the earliest

 

 

The NVGs look like they're your basic infra red torch and reciever jobby, but still its good gimmic! I hope they added a sound chip to make the little "bweeeeeee" noise when you turn them on.

 

I'm such a turd that I know I'm gonna end up buying that sh*t. I have a locker with all my airsoft gear in it so the bust and NVGs will go nicely next to that

I rarely go for limited edition things whether it be game, dvd or other but this has me very tempted, that said the hardened edition looks cool too. Notice how only the 360 case has the recently re-added COD above the MW2 name, going to have to reprint the boxart for that beast! One thing that did get me, the characters head he said it was Soap but the mo-hawk leads me to believe it’s Roach.

1) Where is the goddamn PC Prestige Edition? Nothing even mentioned about PC versions. Way to go IW...

2) Price??? I think it'll be $100-$160. Which is alot of money...

 

Hopefully they won't screw us (pc gamers) over. I'd like to get this special edition.

Personally i don't see the point in getting the Prestige Edition, or any special edition of any game for that matter. All that matters to me is the game, as long as that is awesome, i'll be happy.

Anything over 80 pounds is pushing it really.

 

The GTAIV special edition was 70, even though I got it from Woolworths pre ordered for 60

The Hardened Edition is going to be $80, can be fairly sure that the Prestige Edition is going to be quite a bit more.

My thoughts exactly. However, I am still very happy concerning my Collectors Edition of CoD 4, comes with a poster and a genuinely good

Bonus Disk, all housed in a special cardboard collector's box.

To some lil' kids who might be underage, night vision goggles will most likely be smashed by pissed-off siblings, neighbours or angry gun-wielding African-Americans who are looking for trouble. I for one will be planning to buy the prestige edition in the more than-gonna-happen event that it comes out for PC.

Just imagine the fun you could have with NVG.

Artbook, bah. Hardcase, meh. But I will be trying the NVG in my room while my game is being installed.

 

Along the lines of the prestige edition coming out for PC, I'm starting to get skeptical because of the GTA IV collector's edition and the Saints Row 2 collector's edition which only came out for Xbox 360. I'm pretty sure I'm right about IV except the PS3 was added and I think all 3 systems got Saints Row.

 

Again with the extra memorbilia, something to gander at while the game's installing (PC only obviously) and also something to look back on when you've had enough of playing Modern Warfare 4.

PC gaming is what made the franchise.

CoD1 was hands down one of the best FPS games ever, and it was a PC game.

Pretty sure he mentioned in the video that they'd get a free token for the PC game Call of Duty 1, and that there will also be tokens for PSN and Xbox LIVE Arcade versions. Pretty much confirms a PC version of the Prestige Pack/the free CoD token for the PC version.

Also, I'm going for the Hardened pack. I would go for Prestige, but I just spent a hundred bucks on contacts (and they're f*cking great).

I seriously doubt those night vision goggles will be anything like the expensive $200-$300 ones. I'll just stick with the standard edition. The game is all I care about.
