It was fun, it is fun... but it is lacking and personally I think it's pretty obvious that they put alot more effort into L4D2 (and it's DLC) than in L4D now. Heck, they even ported over the characters and such from L4D1 to L4D2 with No Mercy for L4D2.

 

What does the L4D1 player get? 'just' the DLC. Yeah, you should be happy you gotten something. They rushed it, they rushed the comic. They wanted to get rid of the original cast as soon as possible which is f*cking sad.

Yea comic ending sucked, but did give some closure sorta, but hey, it was free right?

 

I understand where you're coming from with the L4D1+2 fiasco. However, I like both equally in different ways and in the end, they feel similar but different at the same time.

 

But I don't understand why you're complaining about the DLC so much. Come on - you got it ALL for free.

Valve are simply awesome because they give good content (not brilliant) for free (PC).

They are a smart company that doesn't charge for everything any chance they get and they are a rich AND popular company because of it.

Not even to mention their brilliant games (TF, HL, L4D) and excellent PC support.

 

Again, I understand your gripes but Valve are genuinely the best company out there IMO and don't deserve all this undeserved stick.

i agree, atleast they are making some effort in trying to keep you interested in their games and making it free on pc which just shows how dedicated they are to making pc gamers happy, unlike other compaines *cough* 2k who just want the money, i haven't played the dlc yet but i'm sure it will be good considering they ported no mercy to l4d2

No not really, I'm glad that Valve gives out free updates/DLC, I'm glad they put 'some' effort into this. But they said when L4D was announced/released that said game would get DLC with new weapons and new campaigns and 'who knows new infected'.

 

In short: L4D2 has the DLC value what they promised with L4D1. I gladly bought both and played both. But considering that I also played L4D1 during the free weekend, and I prefer the atmosphere/characters from the first one. And guess where my stand is in the whole L4D1/L4D2 deal?

 

But does that make me sh*t fire of discontent? No not really, I'm disappointed and find it really sad that they didn't do what they promised and/or aren't honest with it.

 

That being said I enjoy(ed) both Left 4 Dead titles. Rochelle should've died though and they should've ended the L4D2 characters instead of the L4D1...

Taaaaaaaanks! is the speedrunningest mode EVER. It was a blast for me trying to find my way around No Mercy, a level I've played once before, with four tanks wanting to have their way with me.

It's also one of the best Mutations so far in my opinion, that and Survival Versus (which needs to be a permanent mode) have been awesome to play. They should actually make Taaaaaaaanks! a proper mode too, I'd play it so much if they did.

I fully agree with you.

I estimate that the army at the end of the Parish killed them all, due to them been 'infected' - after all, the only thing keeping the originals alive in Millhaven was the doctor's fake idea of a cure.

I don't think that would happen to the L4D2 survivors too.

 

I say bring on new, serious (with hint of comedic relief) and interesting survivors in the inevitable L4D3 in a few years (minus Valve time XD).

 

Or better maybe even new 'brilliant' DLC *hopes*

Well Valve seem to have put more work into the L4D2 version, but apart from that it's pretty much just the same just with new weapons and infected.

Heck yea, I managed to purchase L4D2 now with that huge discount... Maybe i'll be able to play by tomorrow... If my internet doesn't fail me... wich it probably will... Any advice?

 

EDIT: And before you ask, I did get to play L4D1, some friend had it, altho I only got to play singleplayer

Not really, all the times I've played, no one wanted to do it. So they made me, which was a big mistake considering we lost the round. Three tanks is no joke.

does anybody else have a problem in l4d2 where the mouse cursor doesn't appear on the screen, this happened to me recently, it's so annoying because i have to guess where my muse is for things that you can't use the arrow keys for and i also can't invite people to an online game because of this, does anybody have a solution for this, i have turned vsync off

I much preferred having to fight to the end instead of making your way through a horde of zombies and three tanks, restarting a generator and going down.

Went to a local LAN shop to test out The Sacrifice with a couple of friends. I brought them along because they have no idea what to expect from The Sacrifice even though they are huge L4D2 fans.

 

I had a blast playing through it as Bill. And when I saw the boat, I expected a group of witches inside. I was dissapointed.

 

Playing Versus on the first two parts of The Sacrifice is fun fun fun! But during the third and final part, really not fun.

Well, since we seem to be lacking stuff here, small bump for this thing that happened to me while attempting to get the "Guardin' Gnome" achievement.

Luckily Rochelle startled her so I managed to get him out safely...

Why use a sniper when you can just cr0wn her with a shotgun? It's the most effective way of killing those bitches.

use a chainsaw, it works brilliantly, i was playing online with a friend and just went for it and it worked, killed her straight away

I suck at cr0ning witches, hence why I prefer to stun them and snipe them before they recover...

Just got guardin' gnome though, and btw, I didn't know that if you waited for the Heli right where it always lands, the heli goes to the oposite row of seats that costed me an incap and rochelle's life... not that anyone cares about her life tho

Yeah that work brilliantly too, but you can't always have a chainsaw.

The chainsaw also has very limited ammo/fuel, and cr0wning her is the only way to effectively kill her in L4D1.

The chainsaw is also a bit risky, one of the three witches I chained actually managed to incap me, but it sure works like a charm most of times...

 

Anyways, I never noticed how powerfull the sniper is when infected rush through a choke point, those piercing bullets make short work of most infected in line...
