Apparently it's automatic, the triggered explosives probably wouldn't create an explosion like that. I also just read that there's a giant strip club in the sky with a load of pickups. Too bad the UK release is still not here

Can you remove weapons from your inventory once picked up?

 

For example, when you start in the demo, you only have a pistol, is there a way to revert to this state. As I don't like the look of a massive assault rifle on my back while im trying to explore and base jump etc. Or at least, is there a SMG and a Primary, that are smaller and more sleek.

 

I feel so strongly about this that I may not ever pick up a primary weapon throughout my entire playthrough.

Doesn't he drop the rifle when he runs out of ammo, or am I mistaken?

You're mistaken. In the demo, at least.

This game is f*cking, fun.

 

Oh I just love the fact that you can finish like anything you want to in any way possible, hijack a heli, crash it into the other heli, glide down, abuse the hook, do all kinds of sh*t.

 

I also loved that in one of the first missions where someone threw a grenade in the cutscene and Rico just threw it back. I'm only like 2 percent into the game but stats says I've been playing the game for like 2 1/2 hours. I mean just off-roading with the vehicles in this game is fun.

 

Also, +1 for including some tagalog voices on some of the peds in game, I ran into one tricycle and the ped shouted "tarantado".

 

But anyways is it just me or does the demo run much smoother than the original game? Or is it just because the whole map is there now?

 

Trying to chase a heli in the demo

I don't think having the whole map in the full game would make the game run slower as even in the demo you could see the LODs making up the rest of the map which is what it does in the full game until you get closer.

 

Anyone obtaining the game through naughty means while you wait for release in your country(that you will buy, you'd be silly not to support this game if you are a real pc gamer)? I may end up doing it if I find the week and a bit wait too much to handle.

All that matters is that you're fighting, or more like blowing up military airplanes in mid-air by first flying up to it with a passenger airplane, then exiting it and attaching yourself to the other plane with a grappling hook, then hijacking the plane, then crash it into a military base whilst jumping out of the plane with your parachute.

I'm looking forward to just go on road trips and enjoy the beautiful scenery, that's what I love about this game so much and I'll just take my time with the missions.

 

I ordered from amazon.co.uk the limited edition which is the same price as normal for £34:73 which is a good price and it will be ready for me when I come home from work tomorrow.

Man, I get really pissed off when I'm cleaning out an area and I only need to blow up one thing left in it, but it's so obscure and small that it takes me half an hour to find.

So, the demo glitch worked for me today and I got a slight feel of what it would be like to own the game (as in being able to take my time completing missions and getting 100% in destroying bases etc)

 

Man, it was so much fun. The Black Market feature is a lovely bonus. Just remember when you are looking for that few percent in destroying sh*t, the shiney boxes containing weapons parts and stuff count. Some of them are worth about 2% and other 5%.

 

Also, it seems hard to die but on one mission while I was chasing the witness I realised it can be quite tricky and maybe not as easy as I thought. Also, the demo is at the start of the game so it must get much harder.

 

I had fun destroying bases in one of the choppers too.

 

LOVE this game.

I won't be able to get my hands on this game until next month, but does anybody know if The Agency returns? The first few cutscenes of the JC1 made it seem as if there was quite a bit of history between Rico, Tom, and Tom's female accomplice (can't remember her name). Of course the story in JC2 is not really the focus, but I would like to see that relationship fleshed out and those two primary contacts fleshed out beyond just a support role.

 

I was disappointed when I opened the demo and saw Rico (who is now apparently called the Scorpio, what's with that? I prefer Rico) meeting with some Panauan bitch rather than Tom...

At the start, a guy you rescue calls you "The Scorpion" because of the design on the back of Rico's shirt. Guess it catches on.

 

I didn't play the first, but as far as I know you are working for The Agency. If I remember correctly from my brief, tired play, Tom has been kidnapped/gone rogue. The aim seems to be to find him.

Thanks for the info. Glad to see that they aren't entirely throwing the story to the floor--and right now the story seems to be even better than the 1st game (not that it is a difficult feat ). Definitely buying this as soon as I can: it seems that they have managed to pull an Assassin's Creed 2 on the series--what a turnaround!

Yeah, I always go for the resource boxes first (because they're the easiest to find), but it's usually just some crappy Generator hidden out behind some building that I don't notice for ages. It does get frustrating when I'm trying to get 100% on a place.

There is actually 4 difficulty modes in the game (Casual, Normal, Experienced and Hardcore), I'm assuming the demo is on "Casual" mode because I'm playing on Normal mode and have died numerous times from those commander enemies - they're just a lot tougher than in the demo.

 

And the demo is not at the start of the game, by the way, it's actually a made up scenario, doesn't really happen in the full game. The cut-scene is used for a different mission.
