Then halfway through the game he should meet his distant cousin and they go bowling.

Anyway getting back on topic after your failed R*/GTA IV bash yeah I didn't feel as inclined to play it after the story.

 

After playing RDR it would've been pretty cool if animals were added to the wilderness.

Also, good point you bring up there, Funny how the entire island is void of any sign of wildlife apart from some scorpions and birds.

But that didn't distract from grappling helicopters and preforming "drivebys" using a rocket launcher and a parachute.

 

...now if only you could pick up hookers and get lap dances at the mile high club.

Should I get this game? I heard the story and voice acting is worse than B-level, so the game play better be good.

 

How is it? Does it get repetitive at all?

Game gets really repetitive. Gaining chaos gets really annoying, and there's no reward for 100%. As the story isn't that great, there's no real incentive to progress, and the world isn't interesting enough to sustain your enjoyment. The world may be huge, yes, but there's nothing to do in it.

 

With that said, I've spent about 18 hours playing it, and I probably won't pick it up again.

This game looks quite interesting. I've played a little bit of Just Cause too and apart from being the most unrealistic, arcadey sandbox game I've ever played... It was actually pretty fun. The graphics look a lot better in this game as well. The story of these games have always interested me for some reason, I don't know why, because they're quite simple in design: Rico goes to tropical island X to overthrow evil dictator Y. Pretty much same in, same out in both games.

 

I might pick this up if it comes up cheap for PS3.

I have a VERY irritating problem. I want to know that how to put the grenades or remote explosives back I mean whenever (even by mistake) I press the button to select grenades or REs it never goes back like I fire a gun (no matter how many times I make sure that it is selected) and instantly after that, Rico throwes a grenade or RE.

 

So is there a way to put the throwable objects back in the holster or whatever it is called to put grenades.

 

Any help would be greatly appriciated.

I had to reinstall OS the other day and I didn't bacup my save file. I was on 89% roughly with over 60h of gameplay. Does anyone have a save file with everything unlocked cause I really don't want to go through all that unlocking stuff again. I would really appreciate it.

I just started to play this game and wanted to say that my expectations are satisfied, even when I started to play the demo I know that this game would be fun! Very, very big and awesome looking landscape of Panau with alot of stuff to do (just need to use your imagination), great graphics (especially look on the water), not so great but fun storyline and side-missions and the main protagonist Rico who looks very similary to the role that Pacino played in "Scarface", Antonio Montana (the voice is also similar)!

 

Only thing that I didn't appreciated are vehicle and player controls, but with alot of stuff that you can do it's neglected from my side

I've got a serious problem:

 

My father and I both play the game on the same account, he uses save slot 7 and 8 and I use 1-5. My first five saves where on his PC because he accidentally synced with steam cloud. I just reinstalled the game and let it sync with steam cloud. Steam Cloud then replaced my save games with the old ones that were on my father's PC, so I basically lost every f*cking thing.

 

Is there any way to undo what I just did?

If your looking for a good storyline and voice acting, avoid this game. Looking for a non-realistic blow the f*ck up game, buy it today.

 

I personally thought this game would suck but my bro got it and I tried it out, it`s actually alot of fun.

I don't really play this game much but I do pick it up from time to time. I finally took over the the big fuel depot in the middle of the sea which is heavily protected by guys with RPGs and SAM sites. Died a few times doing it but finally got it, well, for the most part. Kinda stuck on about 95%. Have to find the stash boxes which is a pain.

 

I also love hijacking the huge military planes that take off. I'm never gonna get 100% in some of the airports because then the military planes wont take off from them.

 

Anyone get 100%?

I apologise for the slight resurrection of this topic but I felt this was note worthy, it certainly comes across as cool to me. It appears that Avalanche has quite a bit of data on player deaths in Just Cause 2 and they have used this data to produce quite a surprising and interesting video. There have been 11 million player deaths in JC 2 and this is what they look like mapped out :-

CharmingCharlie, it is not all deaths. It just where Rico has fell to his death or hit something hard and resulting in his death. So It does not include death by bullets, sadly.

I'm glad somebody finally bumped this topic up, I didn't have a post worthy enough to do it myself.

 

I bought this game a few weeks ago and wow, it really is a world of fun. There are a few things I feel are missing though, like a feature where we can save vehicles for later use and a repair feature for us to repair broken vehicles with, and apart from some repetitive missions and shoddy voice acting, this game was one of my best gaming purchases of this year, so far. I've spent so many hours on it.

 

I hope they make a third.

To anyone who says theres nothing to do in this game.

Think about it.. you have a grappling hook, infinite parachutes and complete freedom to go anywhere. If theres nothing to do in this game than you have no imagination.

Yeah, this game is tons of fun. The missions and the story itself isn't the strongest points of the game, but just exploring the island is fun enough for me. Have anyone on this board actually completed the game percentage-wise?

Technically I have. I've finished every single base in the game and collected every item but a water tower that doesn't appear is preventing me from getting 100% officially. Meh.

I played the game for a few weeks after the release before I literally stopped playing because the developers refused to patch some ground breaking bugs. The game IS fun, but the lack-luster missions and general lack of variety between doing things in the games prevents long-term enjoyment. It's crazy that some people of the Eidos forum racked up over 140 hours within a few weeks of release. I really couldn't find much else to do (on the console version, at least). I heard the game is superior on the PC due to the mods though.

 

Huge expansive world, just a shame there isn't much to do.
