Creed Bratton
I don't think I'll get it either. Dx9? Are you sh*tting me? Crysis 1 came out in 2007 and it supported Dx10! Obvious console port is obvious. Crytek can talk all they want about Crysis 2 being a PC game primarily, but I'm not retarded.
d0mm2k8
Obvious console port is obvious. Misuse of the phrase 'console port' there. It's console centric and dumbed down because of consoles but it ain't a port.
OysterBarron
As far as im aware the new crytec engine was crafted for use on all platforms, hence you get the bloom effects as standard. so dont think its a port just more generalized now. For those in the UK getting ready for release tommorow! if you trade in either test drive unlimited 2 or homefront you can get crysis 2 for £4.99 @ GAME (sorry homefront bye bye) wished id brought crysis instead of homefront anyway after seeing the first half hour of crysis. Narcis_speed6
I don't think I'll get it either. Dx9? Are you sh*tting me? Why does this matter so much for you? dx 9 or 10, there aren't big differences, other than some small pixels displayed different, I don't see how that can change your experience when playing it. Creed Bratton
Obvious console port is obvious. Misuse of the phrase 'console port' there. It's console centric and dumbed down because of consoles but it ain't a port. I would like to believe that but the demo had "press start" in it. How hard it is to change one word? And they didn't even try to do that. @Narcis: It's not about Dx9, it's about what that means. It means they didn't put as much effort into it as they did in Crysis 1 so the game is probably worse. Also, Dx10 gives you a pretty big FPS boost because of some shadow rendering thingy that's done better on Dx10. And we all know it's been dumbed down for consoles. If I get it I'll get it when it's cheaper. I ain't paying full price for it.
The-King
Quit crying you fanboy f*cks, I always forget how whiny my fellow PC gamers get... well, all the f*cking time. It's pretty common knowledge that Crytek are planning to put out a patch with support for the latest DirectX versions at some point. Right now their main focus is rightfully the consoles as they're a new market for the Crysis series and thus they're putting them first and once the console versions are taken care of we will get our DX support. Not that f*cking hard to understand, unless you're looking at the point all teary eyed and screamy like it's apparent you are. In summation, quit f*cking crying, you haven't been wronged, you're just a whiny dipsh*t. |PropagandaIncorporated:|: Steam:|: DeviantArt:|: Last.FM|
Brown Sugar
I don't understand why everyone is complaining over dx9 and graphical customisation, i'm very excited about this game, the single player looks fun and excellent which is the main thing I look for in a game and should be what everyone wants from a game like crysis 2. I've been saying that sort of post on Overclock.net constantly; you wouldn't believe how many people cry and 'wah-wah boycott it' because it lacks DX11 on release. Makes me slightly embarrassed to be a PC gamer with 80% of people constantly moaning about this sort of thing.
danjodan
I dont know why people are crying about it not having DX11 at launch , it is probably wasnt finished at release and they want gamers to have the best graphical experience , not all buggy. Anyway , will the patch include support for directx10?

d0mm2k8
I'm not bothered about graphics options so to speak (DX11 would be nice for when I get a DX11 card ) but this game just generally looks worse than its predecessor. I'll judge tomorrow when it arrives though
Knife
I think it looks pretty decent. If it looks worse it's only because it a far more detailed urban environment rather than tree after tree.

It's nothing to do with the environment (the city looks great), but what's been said about the story and gameplay is what worries me. Seems like it's been dumbed down a lot. I'll still leave it for myself to judge (I believe it will be worth the £25).

CharmingCharlie
Well I am not going to say anything about this console port supremely wonderful PC specific game but I did come across this :- Hey guys I just wrote a program that will build you an autoexe.cfg file for Crysis 2. This should help everybody here who wants some more advanced graphics options. You can find out more about it here :- http://forums.steampowered.com/forums/show...d.php?t=1807934 You have to wonder how a "whinging" PC pleb could do what Crytek couldn't though Anyway hope some one finds that of use. Are you blind or something, the PC version maxed out looks 10 times better than the console version. but u need a really good rig to play it maxed out Ehh, no, not in the slightest, considering it's actually more optimized than the original Crysis, meaning if you could max the original you can max this (hell, you'll probably get an even better FPS than you did with the original maxed). The only real big performance hit (taking the nature of the original into account) will come when they patch it into DX11 and all those FPS eaters like tessellation and the like come into play. Apparently it also doesn't like multiple GPUs, my friend had to disable one of his crossfired 5770s in order to get the actual game to play, even though the demo worked perfectly for him before he actually got the full game. |PropagandaIncorporated:|: Steam:|: DeviantArt:|: Last.FM|
