Being a PC user, you're being very generous towards Sony with that statement. Sony is the reason that when GTA went full-3D 9 years ago, we (PC gamers) didn't see it for over 6 months. Sony was the reason GTA became a whore-like consolish football to be thrown around and grabbed by the highest bidder. Sony is the reason for a lot of things...most are negative though. f*ck Sony, and f*cking tough luck to them. I truly feel sorry for those who use the PS3 as their only gaming platform though...they are the most current victims of Sony's non-stop shenanigans. This is pure speculation on my part, but I would guess R* are probably legally forbidden (as per their exclusivity contract for Microsoft's Xbox) from stating it will be made available for other platforms until a specified date that hasn't yet passed. A neat way to side step this would be to add the achievements for TLAD on GFWL as has just happened. That's not officially saying the game will be made available, so there is no legal issue, but anyone who sees it can put two and two together. That way you can drum up some early interest on the PC platform before you are contractually allowed to publicly state it is coming. I wouldn't be suprised if their marketing guys have monitored how many hits the Patch 5 topic got yesterday in a matter of hours on this site, and been rubbbing their hands with glee. It's a lot of free publicity. Arguably, the consumer takes more pleasure in working it out for themselves too, before being told. The only thing we are missing is the release date. Nowthat its "official" that its commin to PC, the camps get devided again... Childish cous we got as much beef from the xbox users as you did. As we speak people are blabbing about PS3 users not getting this EVERRRR. (Kinda remember some people saying the same thing against the PC users @ one time) This whole exclusive deal has driven me away from the GTA franchise. Worse thing is that people bought a console for this DLC. Well, the sales of the DLC seem to be on the low side. Wich in my case isnt that good, cous that means the ps3 users will have to wait even longer. I do generally subscibe to the belief that c*ck-up-theories are more often correct than conspiracy-theories. But when it comes to responsibility for the whole GTA exclusivity, the finger will always be pointed at Sony for starting the mess, and any suffering that corporate Sony can endure as a consequence of their own business logic coming around to bite them on the ass, I will welcome. DLC is still crap in my opinion, and they should either develop and release (physically...in a box) an extensive expansion pack, or a whole new game (like Vice City or something). Yet again Rockstar finds itself in a mess with these exlusive deals I agree with CC, although it can only be speculation I reckon someone from rockstar (by accident/on purpose) released a beta version of the 1.0.5.0 patch. Remember, Rockstar basically said 1.0.4.0 was a maintenance patch for 1.0.5.0. They never said there would be one in between. I also doubt Rockstar would release it without announcing anything official on Social Club like last time. Maybe the guy who did it just wanted to put our minds at ease on dlc without compromising the microsoft gagging order or adding any new major features we might see in 1.0.5.0 (atm there's like a few changes in commandlines, and TLAD achievements - pretty unlikely for a patch thats taken this long). Either way, thanks to the dude who released it - he put our minds at ease - we were confined to discussing radiowaves being emitted from the computer screen when nikos phone rings... As previous events about GTA IV have stated, any hint out there will later become to true (as it was ESRB rating leak, Take2 homepage hint stated that it will come to PC before it was taken down etc). Now this with TLAD achivements (as i read somewhere, x360 achivements were released 10 days before the game was released). And to release TLAD for PC as DLC with such a short time should be no problem. In this light, for me it seems that we will get TLAD bretty soon, and maybe already in march we will get EFLC. Your concerns are kind of outweighed by the skyrocketing cost of developing games that also push technology forward. In basic terms, it costs entirely too much to make a game for it to continue to be one-off titles. DLC kinda saved the industry, or kept it growing. sgt.slaughter Posted November 11, 2009 Share Posted November 11, 2009 (edited) When I saw the Lost and Damned achievements on Windows Live,I was under the conclusion that Microsoft might've thought they had made a mistake making the downloadable content X-BOX only. I say that because back in '06 when the deal was struck,nobody knew that GTA IV would be making it to the PC,it was only much later after the deal in August '08,that Rockstar Games announced a PC version. So I'm just sitting here wondering if those added achievements were a screw-up,leak,or Microsoft wanting the deal cut so that the downloadable content can make it to to PC(ehh...I sorta doubt the last one).
