Or am I deluded? i myself am unsure of how they develope games, but it does sound logical. some companies do actually do it in this manner, and it seems to work well. hetment Posted November 8, 2009 Share Posted November 8, 2009 man i wish dlc actually comnes to pc,,, its not like modding has actually any effect.. if rockstar thinks no dlc because of modding they are wrong.. we cant actually make the tbogt parachute sequence and missions and lost and dammed things.. the things which sbox enjoy are needed by pc and as well as ps3 too.. cc your line made me a smile on face with a hope of dlc.. and there are actually games which have dlc for pc,xbox360 and ps3 too.. I'm gonna say they'll wait until late next year if not 2011 to mention about the next game, march just seems to soon to mention anything about it. Jimbatron Posted November 9, 2009 Share Posted November 9, 2009 (edited) This is a bit of conjecture on my part, but I visited a major UK retailer at the weekend and noted that the original GTA IV on the PC was promoted to half price in the No. 1 slot. As part of my job, I analyse these deals of various clients, and you have to bung the retailer a fair few quid to run them! I'd estimate the cost would be in the hundreds of thousands of pounds in that account alone, so it's not a trivial investment. So why would you invest the money in a year-old game - unless you were planning to drum up some interest prior to releasing some expansions? It would also be a good stratergy if DLCs (as opposed to standalone EFLC) were to be made available first, as people will need the original game - objective: max out sales of the original at Christmas to creative the best possible platform to sell DLC in the new year. Wishful thinking? Perhaps. I also note in the above post by Jimbo_V Microsoft's email mentions nothing about an exclusivity clause, which would suggest their deal may be close to expiry. Otherwise, they would be within their rights to say in so many words: "sorry mate, it's exclusive - if you want it, you have to buy and Xbox". Have you noticed this DLC came out few months before Christmas? And the sales aren't anything special, maybe because of the DVD version that now can be "aquired" in other ways. After the sales are dead they need something to get Christmas profit ... and what is better then DLC for PC? I don't know maybe I'm wrong but I think that might happen. Has for the next GTA it's in the works for more then 1 year now, i remember reading an article about that, also I remember they said it would be out by the end of next year. It will be like the other GTA's, they get a new engine they make 2 or 3 games (not the same game with different missions and few other things) like what hapened with GTA 3, VC and SA. ---------- And to end my post I'll show something I found in another forums about these "tips": This is a poster someone found in the game itself: And with a montage of the image found over the ripped pic, you can see that it fit on it: And this is a better view of that sane poster: I guess we going back to the countryside for the next game ... imagine SA look alike with this awesome engine. That isn't a f*cking clue pointing anywhere it's just a f*cking reference pic they randomly took out of the game to put underneath the tear. It's meant to be a f*cking advertisment for medication for what you have down there. The name of the city is meant to be on that tear but instead they revealed a random advertisment underneath. You can bet your life that PC users will have to wait the same amount of time that xbox 360 users had to wait. So we will get The Lost and Damned probably by the end of this month and then we will have a 10 month wait and they will release The Ballad Of Gay Tony along with the EFLC disc. True though... but I can see Microsoft being a dick for this and preventing the 'earlier release of EFLC' (to f*ck the PC people over the same way they did with the Xbox360 gamers).
