I think expanding the 80s songs from Vice City would be awesome, but it wouldn't be particular of the time frame, more as they stand in the real world... another Classic radio station! haha

As good as that may be, unfortunately it doesn't fit with the BOGT theme so I doubt that's going to happen. But then again, that would fit perfectly with a GTA: NeXt in the past, like a 70s or 60s GTA.

Given that most stations cater to a variety of music, in terms of genre, only a few really are theme orientated, mostly the original licensed tracks. I get the feeling they saw the feedback backlash on that.

 

I mean, the radio was NOT very popular. The choices were pretty obscure. Not that most songs should be heavy rotation numbers in reality, but classics are just damn good tunes, no matter what the time or place

This episode is going to have alot to do with music... not only because of the nightlife club scene element, but because a "Ballad" is commonly a romanitc tale told through song... will the new music be released slowly and choreographed to move the story along?

Ven Bailalo by Chris and Angel would have been perfect for Luis' trailer as it is Dominican reggaeton (most reggaeton is Puerto Rican), but they already used it for Manny's trailer so I doubt they'd use it again. Some bachata would be nice as it's Dominican and I like it... Frank Reyes or Monchy y Alexandra or something.

I'm expecting updates to Electrochoc, K109, and The Vibe at the very least. All of them play club-friendly music, and BoGT, from the looks of it, will be built around Liberty City's nightclub scene. In particular, for The Vibe, I can see them adding a lot of non-R&B pop music (like Gwen Stefani, as somebody pointed out, or even Kelly Clarkson) to the playlist, just like they added heavy metal to LCHC in TLaD. It would fit the theme of both the station and the game - R&B is what's popular right now, along with club-style artists like Lady Gaga, Timbaland, and the Black Eyed Peas (their latest singles in particular), so it's not much of a stretch to see the station going in a full pop direction. I can also see them updating San Juan Sounds, due to Luis being Dominican and that station having a fairly sparse playlist, and possibly The Classics. Rockstar will probably leave The Beat and the rock stations alone, seeing as how they had all been updated in TLaD. I also can't imagine any updates for Vladivostok, Massive B, or Tuff Gong, due to the fact that the Eastern Europeans and the Jamaicans (with the exception of Mr. Bulgarin and Niko Bellic, and even then, they're only two characters) probably won't be appearing in this game.

So I started this thread without having seen this one. Really all I wanted to talk about was the one song, but since it's a song, I guess they gotta put every thread about a particular song into the radio thread, so - the title of my thread was "Eminem" and the text read:

 

Think about it. Who's offended the gay community more than any number of Christian family values organizations, even after doing a song with Elton John? This song should be in BOGT.

Reason 1 - at the end, it even has a short rap by everyone's favorite creepy homo Ken Kaniff.

 

Reason 2 - "...cut your f*cking head off/and that's where you're headed off to/get it?/headed off to?..." Remind you of anyone? Maybe someone who likes to cut people's heads off? Eddie doesn't joke.* Eddie needs to be taken very seriously. Plus it's in the same verse where he's rapping about serial killers.

 

It might, it might not, but this song and BOGT would go together like cold beer and good weed.

Wrong. Little Jacob will probably listen to Tuff Gong Radio (Reggae) or Massive B Soundsystem (Dancehall/Ska), which are Jamacian music. IF99 is basically afrobeat and funk, which is in the same "league" as JNR and The Journey. Probably something Luis would listen to, although a little far-fetched.

I have a wide range of musical tastes, and I don't pay much mind to catagories anyway. What do you think would be an example of a good hardcore band?

Thats not crap, that is Hardcore Punk. How would a Heavy Metal band be better? seeing as they are not a Hardcore band, and the radio station focuses on Hardcore Punk?
