I predict that none of the music station playlists that were expanded in TLAD will be further expanded or changed in BOGT. The playlists of the expanded stations are already longer than some real stations' on a given day!

 

Ideally, installing BOGT on top of IV and TLAD means you end up with a combination of all three games' radio content that plays in all three games. Technically and aesthetically it seems simpler and better to make changes only to stations that haven't already been updated. Remember some people might have only IV and BOGT and so there has to be a version of Liberty City radio that is only that combination. (EDIT: maybe BOGT includes all of TLAD's music anyway, but that seems like a waste of money if part of your $20 is paying the same royalties again.)

 

The expanded mega-soundtrack of all three games is probably, though not certainly, what will ship on the GTA: Episodes disc. Worst case, royalty issues from being a standalone game could force the disc to include only the "new" songs of both episodes, but hopefully Rockstar foresaw that problem and paid to reuse all the songs from IV.

 

It would seem that purchasing the episodes as downloads may be the only way to add the episodes' music to Niko's game.

I think a new, dedicated, dance, Drum and bass, electro and techno and even house station should be created. Electro Choc was a travesty, but with the clubs of this ep, there should definitely be loads of additions.

I think its time for Classics, San Juan, Electro choc and the Vibe to shine.

Yeah, LRR is a defiante to be updated, but I want them to really get rid of the death metal side of LCHC, its not meant to be a metal station, its strictly f*cking hardcore, they need to get some more f*cking Bad brains on there

The Classics is also a station with a lot of potential. Grandmaster Flash "Beat street", The Sugarhill Gang "Rappers Delight", Big Daddy Kane "Ain't no half steppin'", and so on.

Not even a possibility. The song has already been used in Midnight Club: Los Angeles, and you don't need an explanation why it won't appear in GTA IV, right?

I'm thinking more songs for ElectroChoc, San Juan Sounds, and K109 are going to be added. They're probably going to throw in some LRR and The Beat tunes because that's what people want.

 

Here's a question: will all the music from TLAD be on TBOGT?

I think all of it will be; just as Niko's songs were in TLAD, and vice versa.

I hope they add some more "mainstream" songs on K109 - the 80's had some great tunes of that genre, look at Fever 105 in Vice City for example. If they were to add something like "Superfreak", or Peter Gabriel's "Sledgehammer", that would be a lot better

With the nightclub theme, I can see more up-beat and pop/disco like songs being added (both contemporary and classic). It would also be nice to have a variety station that covers broader mainstream (pop, R'n'B, etc) like Head Radio in GTA III. I think any 80's music would be added to the likes of The Vibe and Fusion. But to contemplate mainstream pop like seen in Scarface, a new station would be needed.

 

There will probably be new music made exclusively for the game like seen in Vanilla and TLAD. Not only will it be for radio stations but for also the opening credits (just like Vanilla and TLAD), with a song that preferably captures the theme of the DLC immediately.

 

San Juan Sounds is sure to be given an update; although I don't think it will be as wide as would be expected. In TLAD there was a focus on Liberty Rock Radio and LCHC (being the station of choice whilst on a bike, etc) but there there was space for improvement. For me it was over shined by Beat 102.7 which had a huge update with exclusive songs and recent radio hits being added. Although I don't blame Rockstar, with Hip-Hop being the prominent music nowadays, specifically in New York; most people who play GTA IV (13yr old kids) will flick over straight to the Beat, because that's what most of their friends listen to for example.

 

I think there will be more of a focus on nightclub style music and San Juan Sounds, but I believe the Beat will get a superior update again, leading many people to flick over to the alternative and not broaden their music taste. With the gritty lifestyle of Luis, this might be a good thing though (The Classics FM to also receive an update?).

 

Although that's just my opinion.

Nightclubs tell me that Rockstar will focus on K109 but it's such a minor station so I don't know what to think (LCHC doesn't have much song before the DLC too )

 

My pronostic : The Vibe , San Juan , Classics and K109 will get an update .

 

Anyway I love the music in GtaIV and I even more love when it get improved in a such way...I spent lot of hours in TLAD just chill out on my bike listening to the new songs . I think everyone does that .

I don't think anything will be added to Electro-Choc because it runs in a loop that said I could be wrong! The most likely thing to happen is the addition of songs to San Juan, The Vibe and The Classics. Do you remember the radio station that was supposed to be added in the early information we got on the TLAD but it never materialised! I don't think they'll add a new station just add content of a different genre like LCHC (Punk Rock & Heavy Metal) L.R.R, LCHC and Radio Broker won't be updated!

There were a lot of songs rumored for GTAIV that seemingly turned out to be bogus when they didn't make the core game only to pop up in "The Lost and Damned" later.

 

If that's the case then a few of those "bogus" songs were also held for this game, and there's one song that I remember being listed that would be awesome in this game.

 

and that song is Gwen Stefani's "Hollaback Girl".

 

Some of the best songs on GTA are the embarrassing poppy songs like this. Who wouldn't love pulling a drive-by with "IT'S BANANAS! B A N A N A S!" on the radio? I like a good station as much as anyone (I'm a big Liberty Rock Radio fan and the classic rock and alternative stations on "San Andreas" were also great) but I take equal enjoyment out of music that runs the gamut from "guilty pleasure" to "disturbingly cheesy". For some reason magic happens when you're in a particularly extreme situation in the game and a super-lame song comes on.

 

Also Gwen Stefani is a gay icon and the song would pretty much be a no-brainer for inclusion in this game.

I would say that JNR would get some added to it since the Ancelloti family will play at least some role in the game and I believe most of the Mafia-driven cars in GTA IV have the station playing. Since the Ancellotis work with the Albanians and the Russians, Vladivostok should get a much needed addition.

Yes that would be cool. Well maybe some nightclub music (The Vibe, Electro Choc, JNR) will be added along with some limo and elevator music (The Journey?) to fit with the game setting. But I hope Rockstar realises what we all want and add like 40 Riberty Rock Radio songs and some LCHC and Radio Broker ones too. TLAD's songs were awesome, like 50% of them were LRR songs. It whould be a shame if the rock was all forgotten just to fit with the game setting.

LRR is great, but why neglect the other stations to add even more to LRR? Liberty Rock has already got like 20 new songs, so why not give it a break and improve the less looked upon stations.

I never heard the rumours about this one myself, but as you said it does make sense for it to be added, especially as some of the originally rumoured songs were added to the Lost and Damned.

Run DMC's "Sucker Mc's" was also supposed to be on the soundtrack circa the 2007 release along with Holla back girl, but they both got removed. Sucker Mc's however would be a great addition to the Classics.
