Slamman Posted June 15, 2009 Share Posted June 15, 2009 I was thinking, if both TLAD and BoGT is going to be on disc, can't the PC gamers rip it now? It was done with TLAD and that was just stored on the hard drive (there's a topic about it in the GTA IV/RAGE section), so probably yes, although uploading the files is illegal and not allowed here. I've contacted MS about methods other then downloading direct to the Xbox HDD, so far, they wanted specs on how I am using Xbox Live, which was just signing on via a PC/laptop. The thing that's the real bummer is having to wait for the disc option, which to me is the best news. Someone speculating that DLC cannot be offered on a disc, defeating it's purpose...did I say this already??, it's still available as DLC as well, as it was originally. The PC version could get DLC in the same way "patches" are normally done, that's my thinking on the technical reality. PC gamers are quick to jump at the fanboy altercations, but if they singled out themselves and had no thought about those of us who just prefer the stand alone gaming hardware, to me it's just the same thing. Also that hacking the software is what the companies are supposedly so dismayed about in the first place, that they engineer their ware on consoles straight off. I would like to hear them comment equally about all the versions and why they chose their options for release and support. A simple answer like "money" is not going to really do it. Although it could just be them building it up, it sounds like they're planning on releasing quite an amount of information at once, rather than smaller amounts at a slower pace. I think most people would rather little bits of info spread out rather than a big chunk at once to because if they just release a load of info at the one time it won't leave much room for discussion beyond a few days after the announcement which will no doubt affect the board for the worse but it will frustrate people while they wait for the info to come. I think the best thing for rockstar to do would be to release some screenshots to get people talking then start revealing new features and weapons etc at dispersed intervals up untill they release a full trailer. I'm pretty sure its been like that for a while. I actually came into this thread to complain about that very thing. I take the word "soon" to mean just that. Oh well I guess i am just anxious. This is the wrong approach they are taking. I'm getting WAY more excited for L4D2, COD MW2, and Forza 3 than I am for this stupid DLC because they are actually talking about the game and showing previews. That's just not right... Perhaps a very minor bit of the story, or probably not even featured at all, is Gavin "Ambrosia" Finkle, 41, born in Los Santos. Finkle, a transvestite, has been nursing a methamphetamine habit since the mid-'90s. His record reads: 1987 - Prostitution 1989 - Assault 1992 - Prostitution 1993 - Possession Controlled Substance: Methamphetamine 1997 - Prostitution 2005 - Possession Controlled Substance. But what stands out in the 'Notes' section is this: - Banned from Hercules Nightclub for turning tricks in the restroom and dealing methamphetamine. Perhaps we'll see him in a mission at Hercules? Also on his sheet is the name Heathcliff Waterstreet, his roommate in Waterstreet's Purgatory, Algonquin loft. He's another meth addict, and has lost all his teeth and hair from the addiction and now wears dentures and a wig. He may also appear in the game, as on his 'Notes' section is: - Recently banned from Hercules Nightclub for trying to disassemble the speaker system. Sound like a colourful couple! What d'you think? This leads me to believe they will release quite a bit of new Info as well as Screenshots followed shortly after by a trailer over the course of the next couple of months starting perhaps at the end of this month. Since they usually release info on a friday I would say we will possibly see some more stuff on the 24th of July which is two weeks from now. If they release the game in Late September or Early October this will give them a good lead up to get the second trailer out a week or so before the release so that the excitement doesn't fade away.
