You can either download it from the Xbox Live Marketplace for 1600 Microsoft Points, or play it from a disc by buying the Grand Theft Auto: Episodes from Liberty City set for $39.99. This disc also includes the first episode, the Lost and Damned and does not require the original Grand Theft Auto IV discs to run.

 

 

GENERAL INFO.

 

The Setting.

 

This episode's focus on high-end night life in contrast to the biker gangs portrayed in The Lost and Damned. As Luis Lopez, part-time hoodlum and full-time assistant to legendary nightclub impresario Tony Prince (aka "Gay Tony"), players will struggle with the competing loyalties of family and friends, and with the uncertainty about who is real and who is fake in a world in which everyone has a price.

 

The Character.

 

Luis Lopez already plays quite a prominent role in the IV storyline, and is featured in several key mission include 'Three Leaf Clover', 'Museum Piece', 'Diamonds Are A Girl's Best Friend' and also featured in the Lost and Damned mission 'Diamonds in the Rough'. The three character Niko, Johnny and Luis are brought together as a trinity after completing the 'Museum Piece' mission.

Luis Lopez is a 25-yr old Dominican-American gangster who was born in Liberty City and lives in the Northwood area. Working as an assistant to Tony Prince ('Gay Tony') and a doorman for Tony's nightclubs, Luis is a street gangster who gets caught up in a world of glitz.

 

 

SPECULATION

 

Tampa.

The Tampa is a muscle car originally spotted in the Lost and Damned episodic content. It can be seen during the opening cutscene of the game outside of a Pay N Spray. There was a great mystery behind the Tampa because it could not actually be found in-game even though it was feature in both the opening cutscene and in the official strategy guide for the game. It was later believed that the car was Luis' vehicle of choice, the same way that Johnny of the Lost and Damned had his own Hexer motorcycle.

Fight Club

While searching through the Lost and Damned game files, it was found that there was a variety of information left in the game which was never actually used. Included among this information was a large set of text based around a Fight Club mini-game. As this was not included in the game, a theory circulated that this mini-game was going to be included in the second downloadable content episode, due to Luis' gritty street gangster lifestyle. Although there is no concrete evidence to support this theory, it is likely that it could be included due to it fitting in with the character.

It was done with TLAD and that was just stored on the hard drive (there's a topic about it in the GTA IV/RAGE section), so probably yes, although uploading the files is illegal and not allowed here.

According to a Take-Two conference a while back they said pre-Halloween. Don't know how valid that is anymore. The fake rumors of the game being called Blood & a Four Leave Clover stated Christmas... I'm hoping it comes out before November but I can definitely see them pushing it closer to the Christmas season. Hopefully it feels a little bit more polished than Lost and Damned.

 

One more thing you can add to this thread--intersections with GTA IV and the Lost and Damned. You could mention Luis being at the bank, Luis holding up Johnny/Niko at the Smithsonian, and the mission in Lost and Damned when Johnny steals the diamonds (and eliminates Gay Tony's lover).

I didn't think about Luis killing Bulgarin. That seems possible but Bulgarin seems well-connected enough. Although I always wondered why he was so important in the original game but he suddenly just disappears without a warning and you never hear about him-it would seem strange R* would only tie up such a major component of the original story in a DLC that not everyone can access.

Yeah I made this comment in another thread (or this one, can't remember) As excited as I am about this DLC I would think that they would be consistence as to entail that this is still GTA IV and not a GTA Next. It could possibly do with the fact that both DLC's are coming on to disc which dont' need the original copy of GTA IV to play it therefore people who've been out of the loop and haven't played GTA IV can now play these games. But I still think that IV should be in the title just for consistency.

I wouldn't be surprised if the first episode is retitled Grand Theft Auto: The Lost and Damned when it appears in Grand Theft Auto: Episodes (which also doesn't have IV in the title). Grand Theft Auto IV will then refer only to Niko's story.

I bet one of the reasons why they dropped off the "IV" was because of the poor sales figures of TLAD. And that's defenitly why they're putting out the stand alone discs. Which, if you remember, wasn't originaly part of thier vision for the extended content.

 

People are more willing to buy a new GTA title rather than an add on for a GTA game they already have. Take out the "IV" and maybe more people will think it's a new game.
