Playstation_Loyalist 0
Nope. I didn't have to buy a DS for CTW. I have an emulated version of it in my PC. Ugh, I hate it when people emulate current games. Sorry, but we don't the damn greens to buy at least a DS Lite or the DSi. Do I need to buy every console my GTA game would appear on just to be a fan? Oh, come on. Not everybody's rich. I'm not rich. Far from it. It just annoys me, and is harming the industry. Now, quite a few people emulated CTW, and a large amount of them are lost sales for R*. Though emulations are money savers, these warez are really hurting Rockstar. Bold: I'm on your side for this. Gangster07 0
I dont have DS would it be worth it to buy one just for China Town Wars??
bldrgnslyr 0
i got my ds a couple of years ago for games like mario and zelda, and often scoffed at the thought of people discussing gta coming to ds..now that its happened, i couldnt be happier. IMO i probably wouldnt go out and buy a ds just for chinatown wars, id get a ds for the wide selection of great games available for it, which is what i did.
WolfMasterZero 0
Well I have made my decision, and I'm going to get a DS, for CTW, but I'll get more games down the track though. I just want to know some things. Are there any significant differences between the DSi, and DS Lite? I'm leaning more towards the Lite as it's cheaper, and for what I'm going to be using it for I was just wondering if the DSi is worth the extra money. I know the Lite is smaller, but are there any other differences between them? You can listen to music, take photos and have something called the DSi Ware, wich let you download games.(Paying)Also, I not sure if I got it right, but with more hardware capacibility, it will probably replace the DS/DS Lite soon. Raptomex 56
No. I bought it for Mario games.
kbundy023 0
Well it depends , chinatown wars have alot of game play than GTA 4 i think. Maybe because Nintendo DS can't have high graphics so decide to make more gameplay... Of course if you like graphics more than gameplay maybe this is not suit you but if you like the gameplay not the graphics than it is not bad.... In the game you have scatch cards to win stuff, stealing cars you need to do some wiring/configuration to run the stolen car, more houses to buy and even u can trade drugs from drug dealers etc.... CryptReaperDorian 188
My friend, who is a member here but never visits GTAF, bought a DS with GTA CW on Monday and he brought it to school. I was playing it and I had a damn good time with the game. I really want a DS now. Since of my buddy, the only GTA game I have never played is GTA Advance. I've never played GTA L'61, GTA IV TLAD, and of course TBOGT either, but those are not full games as they're expansion packs and DLC.
Omnia sunt Communia 126
I voted No. I already owned a Nintendo DS Lite at the time Chinatown Wars was relased, and had several games for it. Though if I didn't own one at the time I probably would of have bought one. I did pretty much the same thing for the Sony PSP 1000 and Liberty City Stories. Though I probably wouldn't have been too sure before buying it about buying a DS just for one game as I am now. I love Chinatown Wars and I think it's worth the mere £99 most DS Lites go for now-a-days.
mjw911 1
Thats a shock...Don't buy a DS just for one game, try to find others. i bought my dsi just for CTW lol
BrainToastNG 0
technically, yes. I had a DS lite, but my L and R buttons were broken and I needed the R button for the mission where you take down Zhou's helicopter so I got the DSi so I could finish the damn game.
gta007 1
Been having since 2004(DS original)
Mr.Anonymous 2
No I haven't but I might have bought one if I wouldn't hear that CTW is also coming on the PSP.
bluesboyjr 12
I've got my original chunky DS. The top screen is half way towards coming off. I don't see the money problems some of you emulator types have. You can get an original DS pretty cheap on eBay. IT'S THANKS TO YOU PEOPLE THAT ROCKSTAR WON'T MAKE ANOTHER DS GTA!! (cries self to sleep)

Mince 102
Well, since this was brought up... I guess yeah. I heard CTW was coming out, and I kinda figured it was time to go ahead and get a DS lite (for other games too). Not long after that pre-orders for the DSi started, and after that the game came out on a little black system that I had originally bought just for LCS . Sometimes I think I got my DS too soon.... jnzooger 4
Might as well answer too... I got a used DS-phat just before the release of CtW, but not just for it. I'm a Nintendo character fan and wanted all the games that I couldn't...ahem....play elsewhere. Then I found out that the touchscreen was messed up, so I bought a new DS-lite just before the DSi came out. Soon as I get some money, I'll get a DSi for the exclusive DSiWare games. (Maybe I'll just skip right to DSi-XL) On the other hand: I did get an iPhone solely for CtW-iPhone version. I did get an Xbox360 solely for IV and the episodes (before the episodes were released) and got TLaD day one. And no, I don't regret either. Lots of other great games on them. If you had noticed that, you would have seen that Jordy had posted (probably) before the game had even been announced for PSP (or maybe just before it came out).
ZombieFrogger 0
Nah. I'm playing it on PC. I prefer my PSP You are not a true GTA fan. Ugh, I hate it when people emulate current games. Agreed i mean why emulate the game if you can get the actual game at a store and finish the game without having to download a emulator then download a emulator game thingo?.Why dont you just buy the game its much more fun and gives you more sense of accoomplish ment finishing the actual game? SHXC 104
Yes. Bought a DS 2 days ago purely to play CTW, while I will let my sister use the DS to play her games. Played CTW on an R4 card sometime last year and missed it, so I went and bought my own DS and got it again.
