My favourite zombies-but-not-zombies movie versus being a child and fully believing my toys came to life when I left the room...

... shiiit...

My vote goes to Toy Story, it is really is the defining film in its genre.

My vote goes to 28 Days Later because it's one of those rare horror films which not only enlighten the viewer with nice, gory slaughters but also with a share of psychological goodies. All around the movie keeps you going because it is an immersive experience and not just a "poke-your-finger" kind of experience.

A special mention goes to Toy Story one of my favourite animations. Growing up watching the movie through-out my childhood, made me wonder if your toys really did move. smile.gif

I loved Toy Story to death when I was a child. I bought all the toy dolls and I grouped them all together so that way when I went to sleep I thought they would all come to life and hang out with eachother. I miss those days..

But, I'm not a child anymore. I'll have to vote for 28 Days Later because it re-defined the zombie genre and set the new standard in not only zombie films, but films in general.

I love Toy Story with all my heart, but like I said, those days are over, 28 Days Later is a better movie.

Despite the flat third act, 28 Days Later really blew me away. I can't believe it was shot on what are basically entry-level cameras. It looks beautiful.

...I don't care what the f*ck it was shot on, it still stumbles to the finish line while Toy Story rapes the competition with understanding and acceptance.

Went with Toy Story.

It epitomised my childhood. Such a timeless childhood classic. It really had a fantastic effect on my life, even at a very young age. The concept was awesome, the way the story panned out was brilliant, the film is visually stunning; animation at it's finest, and, as a whole, the film was thoroughly enjoyable.

Taking nothing away from it's competitor, though. 28 Days Later is simply stunning, and I'll always catch it if I ever see it on the TV.

These movies are so completely different that I'm going to have to base my vote on the film that I enjoyed watching more, and at the time I watched Toy Story (I was around 7 or 8) I enjoyed it alot more then I enjoyed watching 28 days later. So my vote will have to go to Toy Story.

I'm with the small furry mammal. Toy Story is an absolute classic and althought 28 Days Later was a great watch and extremely exciting it hasn't really stuck with me or had a profound affect on me like Toy Story has. I love that film.

Toy story was one of my favourite films as a kid, and sparked alot of imagination for many kids icon14.gif Toy Story is jut brilliant, however, the sequel was horrible.

Gonna say Toy Story. 28 Days Later was good, I enjoyed it. But it didn't have the same effect as Toy Story, which after 14 years still looks as visually appealing as any pixar film nowadays.

Omnia sunt Communia

This is a hard one. I'm pitting one of my all-time favourite films (28 Days Later) versus my childhood right here. Toy Story was a ground-breaking piece of cinema that redefined animation and introduced us all to the wonders of 3D animation; without it we wouldn't have films like Wall-E and Monsters Inc. It all started with this little gem.

28 Days Later is good. Well, great. But it doesn't really stand the test of time as much as Toy Story. Children are still watching it to this day and acting like it's the best thing since sliced bread; which too many of us in our youngers years - it was.

I'm going to have to go against my favourite film and vote Toy Story.

28 Days Later.

Boyle really reinvented the zombie genre here. While Toy Story is cute and all, and it bears some good memories from my childhood, what Boyle accomplished with 28 Days Later was immense. Do you know how hard it is to close a while highway in the UK? Let alone try and film on it. It also has deep meanings in there, who's more a threat, zombie or man?

I fail to see the logic here: If 28 Days Later is your favorite film, even over Toy Story, then why would you vote against it tounge.gif ?

I nulled, actually... I have seen the first Toy Story, maybe twice, but I can't remember anything at all from it.

And the voting is based on which movie people think is the best. But yeah, you got me there tounge.gif

It looks beautiful.

Actually, the BluRay release is ugly as sin, imo. Why they chose to shoot a film using SD video is beyond me.

Nulled, since I didn't much care for either of these.

I imagine because of budget.

I don't think 28 Days Later falters in the slightest. Then again, I love revenge massacre endings, so I may be the tiniest bit biased, as I even loved the remake of The Hills Have Eyes for that reason. tounge.gif

It may just be time related, but I'm going for 28 Days later.

...and I agree. Thus why it gets my vote.

As a kid Toy Story was great, even being older now it's still good, but 28 Days Later was just so cool-looking visually. Visceral is the only way to describe it.

Hooray, a vote I can take part in!

My vote has to go for Toy Story. As much as I love the two films, Toy Story just means so much to me from childhood. I never anticipated just how much work and man-hours were put into it. Since I began my special effects course at university I've got so much more respect for the men at Pixar. It's simply a feel good film for me.

Toy Story was one of the most important movies in my childhood. I still love it and I still like to see it on TV. Too bad I don't own it on DVD. I can't find it anywhere sad.gif

TO INFINITY AND BEYOND!

I even had an original Buzz Lightyear figure when I was a kid. It had that spaceship box and everything. My parents bought it for my 8th birthday if I remember correctly smile.gif

I loved Toy Story, always did. Then again I'm not going with the nostalgia vote like everybody else on this forum ever, 28 Days Later was unbelievable.

Anybody see the unfilmed alternative story? It was presented in storyboard, completely different, didn't really make sense.

Along with Indian in the Cupboard, Toy Story made me love my toys even more. And also made me ponder if they hung out and sh*t when I was gone.

28 Days Later is a thrilling, intense "undead" film with a lot of great monents, but Toy Story takes the cake for me. It's undeniably a classic in animation and films.

Thoroughly entertained me as a child, and still does today. It's a fascinating play on our imaginations, which made me question if my toys can come alive or can have emotions.

It was a really hard decision, but I had to go with Toy Story. It's pretty much the only movie I saw when I was that young that I can still watch and enjoy today.

Of course, I had the misfortune of seeing Small Soldiers not long after Toy Story. Both are great movies, but they don't mix well when you're young.

Did I enjoy 28 Days Later? Yes. Did I find it as revolutionary as some people here? Not quite. In the end, it is just another zombie movie, er not-zombie-but-still-zombies zombie movie.

Toy Story, however, was revolutionary. Whether you like CG cartoon films or not, you can't deny what Toy Story did.

Toy Story is better.

I have such fond memories of that, right down to the game on the Mega-Drive. It was truly an event, if you catch my meaning, a movie that went beyond being a movie.

Now, don't get me wrong. 28 Days Later is brilliant but it's not perfect. For a start, they never show what the zombies do to people, the camera is way too jerky. Plus, I think I could do without the full frontal male nudity.

So yeah, Toy Story wins this one. Not just because of nostalgia but because it was so original and with such a simple story - toys that come to life - was able to be very emotional and deep in some ways.
