The Horror Is Alive
I'm running on a Core 2 Duo 2.5GHz, 4GB RAM, and a HD 3650 Mobility. All settings maxed except for AA which stays off. Resolution is 1440x900. What the hell is keeping it from maxing out at 25FPS? I'd say it's running at 15FPS sometimes (at lowest). Are there any good performance tweaks out there? Girish
You've probably turned on the Frame Limiter. Turn if OFF.
_adiPezewenq_
Do you use graphic mods such as ENBSeries and check the applications that runs in background before playing the game? You can use GameBooster by IObit for background applications and you can turn ENBseries off by shift+F12 key combination. And make sure you have installed all drivers and Directx 9.0c. @ girishb Turning off the frame limiter may slow PC' speed down.
Girish
@ girishbTurning off the frame limiter may slow PC' speed down. What has PC speed got to do with the fps of the game? Turning ON the Frame Limiter will cap off his fps at 25. Turning it OFF will help him gain a higher fps and much more smoother gameplay.
Ryan
I actually just discovered this myself about 20 minutes ago. I beleive the defult settings for object quality is set to high. Set that to low, turn the frame limiter off and set the resolution to the lowest setting. I beleive it's something like 800 x 600 x 1000. Try that. It helped me alot. Lodis
If you have a fast enough PC, you can disable frame limit but also force Vsync in your graphics control panel to reduce tearing.
The Horror Is Alive
- I want frame limiter on. - I want all the bells and whistles apart from AA on. - I want it to run smoothly. - I want to know why it won't, given that I have quite a powerful system. Girish
- I want frame limiter on. If that's the case, then we can't help you. Turning on the frame limiter locks the fps at 25. There is nothing you can do about it. Besides, the frame limiter is only meant for systems that just meet the minimum requirements so that it prevents high fluctuation in fps that makes the game unplayable. For systems that are way past the recommended requirement, it is recommended to turn off the frame limiter to obtain a higher fps and smoother gameplay. The Horror Is Alive
It LIMITS the frame rate. It doesn't DEGRADE the frame rate. I want it to stay on, because I hate fluctuating FPS. I have a feeling you never read my OP properly.
Girish
Are you saying that with the frame limiter on you get a fps of 15 instead of 25? In that case, I have no idea what might be causing it go lower than the programmed limit. Have you tried lowering some settings to see if it changes? I'd also like to know how much fps you get when the frame limiter is turned off.
