I kinda am. I enjoy getting trophies, but I have a limit *cough* Mirror's Edge time trials *cough*

With trophies/achievements, I don't mean the ingame achievements you can sometimes get.

Oh and I'm not sure but I believe there are PC games supporting achievements as well, in that case just vote yes/no.

I like getting PS3 trophies & I do go for them, but I wouldn't really go out of my way for them.

The only exception for me is Resistance 2, just by playing through it a lot offline & online I ended up getting all trophies but 1. So even though i'm not a fan of R2's comp, i'm gonna try & get that last trophy (10,000 kills in ranked competitive), so I can get my first platinum. icon14.gif

Yeah, although I don't go to the extent that some do, I still like to enjoy a game while going after achievements.

I don't go out of my way all the time for them, but yes I try to get trophies sometimes. Some are just impossible (assassinating General Amsel with a pistol? f*ck. That. lol), but they add a bit to the game.

I used to in Team Fortress 2 when they were used to unlock the new items. Now that this no longer applies I couldn't care less.

I couldn't care less. Those achievements are kinda silly. I like games with high scores though. Like The Punisher (2005). I replayed missions for million times to get a high score smile.gif

I'm never bothered to get 100% trophy collection in any of the games that I have. But I do try and get most of them.

I end up going for quite a lot once I've finished a game. But most of the time I just unlock a lot by playing through without even knowing the achievements.

I was a trophy hunter but now 300 odd trophies later including 4 platinums I don't really care because when you get so many it's not as fun to get them, not like getting your first platinum wihich is very pleasing. But I'll still get trophies and try for platinums.

Meh, no, not really. I stumbled upon most unintentionally.

But I'm not a trophy/achievements whore.

I only go after them when I enjoy the game. Take Far Cry 2 for example, I've got like 2 trophies and I'm never going to go back for more.

I've stopped going far out of my way to get platinums. Realized this after I have 1 trophy left in Unreal Tournament 3, but I don't care enough to go back and try to get it.

Really, you don't care for the achievements anymore? I think they are plenty of fun, and they should be tied to lets say the class hat. For anyone who does all of a classes achievements, they should get the hat. The milestones should be tied to weapons. All of the steam achievements are fun, personally, I would wait for Valve to fix their gigantic update before getting upset about it.

This poll is a bit biased. Steam and GFW has achievements (PC platforms).

I don't find achievement grinding fun, I find playing the game fun. If I happen to get one while playing, oh goody. I'm glad they untied the weapons from the achievements but a better system than completely random handouts should've been in place before they changed it.

Same here with the Punisher. Really addictive game.

I'm a huge trophy hunter.

I find it makes playing the game so much better for some reason. To me, playing a game now without trophies is pointless. I like the feeling I get when I see I have over 200 of them and it makes me look like I'm an elite player.

Hell, I'll refuse to buy a game no matter how good it is if it doesn't have trophies. ph34r.gif

No not really.

Not really. I just play games for the fun of it, most achievements I unlock during the campaign etc. But once I've finished, I'd skim through and see if there are any easy achievements worth getting, just to waste time and add more replay value to the game.

Wolverine.

I kind of am. If you were to look at my games library, you would see most of them have 1000 right next to them. However I only go after achievements when I have beaten the game first.

I don't hunt for trophies, but it is very satisfying getting them none the less.

I hate horrible games, or playing through an average game for gamerpoints... like Kung Fu Panda

I didn't buy it or plan to buy or even rent crap games for points.

Meh, not really, but there are exceptions.

Using GTA as an example, in previous games I made it a point to get 100%. When IV came out I got 100% on the PS3, and got that key to the city. Then when they released the update for trophies I was curious, so I got 100% again. Then I got 100% a third time on the PC version. There were also a few things I only tried because of the trophies, like the melee counters for example.

That said, there are more trophies/achievements on PC/PS3 that I could get (online ones for example), but I know I'll never get them because I don't care enough to even try.

For the most part I don't care about them, and wouldn't miss them at all if they stopped putting them in games. Though I am willing to do what I have to get one if I think it might actually be fun to try. Like with the melee counters, I was actually interested in learning to do them half decently, if I wasn't interested I wouldn't have bothered.

One thing is for sure, I don't think they are in any way indicative of skill. I also think that people who spend/waste lots of time just trying to get every last trophy/achievement probably need some help. I play games to have fun, if it might be fun to get one I'll try, but I'm not going to waste my time trying to get one just to get it. For the most part it seems like some of them are only there to trick people into playing when they might otherwise not. Again though, since I seem to have borderline OCD about getting 100%, I can't fault someone too much for feeling the same way about trophies/achievements.

I care alot about achievements because they make my E-Penis bigger. Since I haven't alot of achievements I'm afraid to play games... you can't show up with an one inch E-Penis now can you?

No, I think it's 'fun' to get achievements... but it's pathetic and lame to brag about them. I used to farm or try to farm alot of achievemetns for TF2 with friends, and did the same thing the minute the SNIPER/SPY update was out. But after I realised you only get those new unlocks/items while playing (and therefor luck was a big factor) I quit doing so.

Now I just play... and it's actually pretty amusing to get an achievement that way. I never thought I could do the 'sap scent tree/dispenser and backstab the engie who built them within the 5 seconds you sapped...' but I did about thirty minutes ago.

So yeah, I kinda have a bigger E-Penis now since this morning. I'm really proud of myself.

*brags about his achievement(s) earned to everyone, talks about the ammount of gamerpoints he has and rubs his gigantic E-Penis against everyone*

I wouldn't say hunting but i try to get as many of them as possible because completing the story and all side quests doesn't make me feel like I have completed the game. Alot of trophies require you to do things that can only be done by playing the game over and over again so getting all the trophies makes me feel like i have completely finished the game. Also having a platinum looks very nice on your profile wink.gif .

These days i find myself playing on the xbox only to fill time betweendoing other things. I used to be on it quite a lot but i find it bores me now. I'm just filling time between college/revision, going out, playing football etc. so if i think an achievement wont bore me to get it, what the hell, I'll go for it.

Nope. Trophies/Achievements are a waste of time IMO. I always get them by accident.

No, I play a game for fun, not to see wether or not I have a higher gamerscore than someone else. Achievements can be fun, however, like in GTA IV there are some fun achievements such as Rolled over and One man Army. Other than that, I dont see the point in them.

It really annoys me how people go out to purchase a game purposely to get a achievements; take Fight night round 3 for example, it is extremely easy to get 1000/1000 gamerscore and there are people who buy that game ith no intention other than to get 1000/1000 gamerscore. Why? to make yourself look better than another gamer? no..it just makes you look like a nerd who has never had a girlfriend.
