bobgtafan
As we all know GTA games have all revoled around the Crack Trade mainly and gang life. The cities and states GTA has taken place in have all been very good and somewhat close to home parodies of real cities ( Except the first Liberty which was based off of New York, New Jersey, and Chicago.) And even though the historical timeline of events in GTA games are somewhat funnier and outlandish they are in reality they mainly stick to real world facts (excluding 9/11). While GTA games do a great job representing different characters and cites and such and have lots of potenial and reach a wide audience I think that R* should create more open world crime games. Crackdown, Infamous, Saint's Row ( wheter you like it or not) have all shown that you can be more outlandish or set a open world game in the future or make your character a superhuman without making a bad game. Now look I'm not saying that the next GTA should be some science fiction crap but I am saying it couldn't hurt R* to make some other types of Free Roam Games with unconvental elements. For example they could make a free roam series set in an atlernate universe where America has been nuked, or America is in an civil war or you are in an police state or something like that. Most of you who have played GTA over you lifes will say that these and others are dumb ideas but there is a market for these things. And if a game is good enough with a good environment ( We all know R* makes those the best) and a good story ( also R* specaility) I see no reason for them not to come up with different ideas for a new game series. Using a simple parrel history method they can have 100's if not thousands of possiblities for new open world games and experiences new seen or felt in a game. I say that R* should look into this and I would like some you alls ideas of what type of new worlds within this type of series of games they could create. Also I'm not saying that R* should stop working on the GTA series or anything like that but they should step into a new dimeission of open world games. All ideas are welcome. Omnia sunt Communia
I don't see what this has to do with Grand Theft Auto. There are plently of games like that out there; just because they aren't made by Rockstar doesn't mean they aren't any good. What's wrong with just playing inFamous, Crackdown or Saint's Row? Rockstar should stick to what they're good at.

Jacky did you get any of my PM's?

Because you're asking for something that isn't what Grand Theft Auto is about. You're the sort of person who walks into a pet store and asks for a dog who meows instead of barks. Tony Mozzarelli 80
Jacky does make a good point. Although i would enjoy playing the game you are pitching, it wouldn't really be very 'GTA'. Unless you're talking GTA2 style, which i could very much get on board with. Otherwise, we're not really talking about GTA anymore. Still though, by all means pitch your game

Thats the whole point. I mean basically Bully and Midnight Club are two types of games I'm refering too that are made by R*. Yes I know they both aren't in the GTA series but they both share game engines and somewhat game play mechanics ( more so Bully). So I'm saying I would like more open world games by R*. They probably won't even be called GTA but they use a lot of things from the series ( engine, models, physics, lightings, animations, may be even in game universe)
Omnia sunt Communia
Then this doesn't belong in the GTA NeXt forum; since this forum is for discussing the next installment of Grand Theft Auto. It would be better suited to the Gaming Chat forum. P.S. Rockstar are already working on Red Dead Redemption and L.A. Noire at the moment. Those will probably both feature similar gameplay to GTA IV. Rucke
Weren't Liberty City Stories and Vice City Stories some kind of spin-offs?
nerner
Weren't Liberty City Stories and Vice City Stories some kind of spin-offs? Not really, they were just for a different platform, they still fall under the GTA Series umbrella.
Spaghetti Cat
...Rockstar are already working on...L.A. Noire at the moment....will probably both feature similar gameplay to GTA IV. Thought that LA Noir was in development hell. Last I heard it was coming sometime in '09. That was after it was delayed last year. I think it was also going to come to the 360, even though Sony threw a ton of money at the game. OT: Go play true grime, it has dragons and stuff. Slamman
Other Franchises under their banner don't count. We're talking the masters of Grand Theft making other chapters as they have with GTA4, but making them inclusive of most to all game players out there. I believe the thing putting the damper on that is the time and people involved, as well as, clearly....funding... all play a part in what cannot be done, even if they wanted to.
