Arkangel Posted May 23, 2009 Share Posted May 23, 2009 I use the trainer posted on this link http://www.gtaforums.com/index.php?showtopic=392973 which doesn't work online (thank goodness) i've been playing online with those modified files but today, i get the "you can't play online with modified files, replace with the original ones" message. manofpeace Posted May 23, 2009 Share Posted May 23, 2009 I played GTA IV on PC for the first time last night, and after a bit I went into a Free Mode to see if all these stories were true. Went to two sessions, no problems with hackers at all. Whatever the problem with hackers is, I guess it's a matter of luck whether you end up in a game with one/some. Ask jumbo0... his lack of professionalism destroys even yourself. Let me explain what you did wrong... The mod you use to disable R*'s file protection is actually as s*hitty as the protection it disables. It has problems with making its log file. Play with the file a little - especially with its default system security setting. Unfortunately nothing changed for multiplayer... yes, you'll still get shot with a Rocket UZI... yes, n00bs still use God Mode in ranked games... yes, Micro$oft and R* doesn't give a s*hit about your problems... sorry to burst your bubble. Arkangel Posted May 24, 2009 Author Share Posted May 24, 2009 "which doesn't work online (thank goodness) i've been playing online with those modified files" lol wut hahah ok i knew it would sound confusing, what i tried to say was, i installed the mod so i can use cheats on SP, as stated in the cheat IT DOES NOT WORK ONLINE (thank goodness) so, after i installed this mod i could still play online without getting blocked, if i try to spawn vehicles, or stuff like that, i can't because the mod doesn't work online BUT today i got the message that i was using modded files so i could not play online. It just happened all the sudden cuz i've been playing with these files after patch 3 and gfwl update and never got the message! Anyways, i removed the cheats and played online again, after closing the game i put the files on the gta folder again and there i go play SP, out of curiosity i tried using multiplayer with the cheats on folder and was able to join MP games ... so, problem is strangely solved Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

The PC version of Grand Theft Auto IV didn't went as good as R* thought it would + the game sells very badly because all of this. Most people just download it and people who download it can't play online, aka less players online. Add that to that the '1%' of people who can't even get to play the game EVEN WHEN THEIR PC MEETS RECOMMENDED, and voila there remains a small share of people who actually use multiplayer. [crap sales of GTAIV: PC] + [small amount of customers] = bad upkeep! [bad upkeep] + [greedy R*] = no support! DINGDINGDING. That's the way I'm starting to see it now.
