Girish
Lower the resolution and view distance. That is all I can suggest. You really can't expect too much from a laptop. Both the processor and the mobile graphic card are letting you down. When I checked my system requirements on "yougamers" everything was on recommended level except processor, which was in boundary between minimum and recommended requirements. Your cpu nearly exceeds the minimum but its a laptop, so you can take some ghz off, same for the graphicscard, you can take some performance oof too, so afterall your laptop is under the minimum. Some people can run GTA IV even with "weaker" PC (laptops) having satisfactory FPS. I'd like to know how is it possible? Girish
Some people can run GTA IV even with "weaker" PC (laptops) having satisfactory FPS.I'd like to know how is it possible? The same way people with stronger PC builds can't even get the game to work. Don't compare configuration and performance of your PC with others. Due to the "shaky" optimization of GTA IV, performance will vary drastically on multiple PCs with the same configuration. The most you can do in your case is to lower all settings down to their bare minimum. JeddyH
run it at 320x240 in you're commandline.txt add the lines -width 320 -height 240 you might need the -norestrictions command as well, it wouldnt hurt if you added it tho I know it sounds stupid but you can keep going up in resolution until you find a balance between performance and graphics Link to comment https://gtaforums.com/topic/412021-fps-problem/#findComment-1059237552 Share on other sites

Not really checked with GTA but you may want to have a look also. Try and change all your graphics card settings in your CONTROL PANEL for your graphics settings to LOW. Remove all Anti-Aliasing etc... When ever I put on AA I always got LOW fps even on CSS. BorisSF2
I'm on recommended value. My processor speed only fails (minimum), but I can't play even on low settings!!! FPS too high! 1-4 FPS!!! Ridicules! Something definitely wrong here. I'll try to reinstall my op system from vista 32 bit to 64. I hope this will make some changes, cos 32 bit system use only up to 3 Gb of op memory (I have 4). Keep you posted. I posted my settings - all low or off!!! Your processor is not so good, and if you want to play with a playable framerate: lower your resolution and set the view distance, detail distance, vehicle density and shadow density on 1. I'm thinking to bye one Yes maybe on low to medium graphics, also get the 64bit version of Vista to use all the 4GB of RAM, not 32bit. However I would wait for Windows 7 if I were you.
