tehshiznit
Ok, i have been playing GTA IV for a couple of days and the frame rate was smooth. The next day GTAIV.exe started crashing the game before it started. So i re-installed the game and now the frame rate is so much worse IDK if its because im using a modded driver for my 7600 GO... Does anyone have any ideas?
Girish
Please post your entire system specifications. What fps did you get before and what are you getting now? Did you make any changes to your system after the uninstall and before the reinstall?
Hanneswasco
I don't know the reason you could play GTA IV a couple of days ago smooth, because the Geforce 7600 GO is under the system requirements + it's a graphics card for a laptop. So I think you just need to buy a better laptop or desktop (which is recommended).
tehshiznit
I know it's under but it's not working nearly as good as it was before. I dont think i changed anything except for mods. I dont really know my frame rate before but now it's ,much worse.
Girish
You're using mods? Well, that could be one reason. Try a clean install. If you're already on a clean install, then try deleting the Settings.cfg file. Windows XP = C:\Documents and Settings\USERNAME\Local Settings\Application Data\Rockstar Games\GTA IV\Settings\Settings.cfg Windows Vista = C:\Users\USERNAME\AppData\Local\Rockstar Games\GTA IV\Settings\Settings.cfg Also, what exactly do you mean by 'modded driver'? Are you sure you're facing drops in frame rates or is it just stuttering? What commands do you have in your commandline.txt file?
tehshiznit
I have tried a clean install. Im pretty sure it's not stuttering because it even lags in the menus, and everything's really slow. BUT something really weird is the "realistic driving mod 1.8" when i replace the filelist.pak it run's smooth after a couple of plays, but then it turns to crap. What i mean by "modded driver" is because i have a Go card which nVidia didnt release a fix for the blue view distance thing so i found a program that mod's the driver to work with my card and it did. But now it turns to crap. I dont know where the commandline.txt is but i never used a command.
