ZayDaGawd
I know in LCS you work for the guy who betrayed you in GTA 3 and in San ANdreas(well he was enemy at the end, he didnt betray you) and in VCS you work for Diaz, the guy you end up beefing with in Vice City. But what if a new game came out and you had to play as a member in the Ballas? I would play the game but I dont know how I would feel. I mean after san andreas you just get connected with grove street. Cj's whole family is involved with the gang and you see their downfall(introduction) then you see everything CJ did to make them the most power gang by far in LS. Playing as a balla might make me feel a little weird since we know all about how they are. I mean they're smart and had a great plan, and playing as them will let us find out a lot of shyt, and give us an improved version of san andreas. But how would you all feel if we had to play as a member of the Ballas?
DarrinPA
I think it would be a little strange. After trying to clear the streets of drugs with Grove Street, it seems not right to play as a Balla trying to get the drugs flowing.
Omnia sunt Communia
I preffered the Ballas to Grove Street, anyway. Grove Street were an weak excuse for an street gang and their anti-drug policy was just a way for Rockstar to avoid criticism. I much prefer dealing drugs and being the bad guy; since Grand Theft Auto is a crime game after all and that's what crime is all about. iiCriminnaaL
Flesh-n-Bone
I wouldn't mind being a Ballas. Specially if we would see an interesting character with an interesting background and family plus get to know the Ballas more as a family rather than a bunch of street thugs like we did in SA. Little-Jacob
Ummm... The only bad thing in Ballases is that they wear purple... But i can even imagine myself playin as a balla...

Many of those who embraced the Thug-Life were not supporters of crack during the real life epidemic. You can find on YouTube famous rappers and artist that spoke and rapped about the ill effects of crack. As for commiting crime, sure you don't sell drugs in SA like you do in CW. But instead you murder people to stop the drug flow. That's a lot more criminal than dealing. *Plus, I believe CJ was unknowningly distributing drugs for Toreno in the first few mission. N.O.E. you have to deliver supplies to the same spot you had earlier Photographed Toreno meeting up with the Loco syndicate. Along with the Interdiction, I believe was part of a drug deal or money exchange. But lets not argue this here. I'll make a thread for it next week. Spaghetti Cat
No, we can argue it here, or at least I will... First off, Grove Street may not have been involved in crack, but they were involved in other drugs. I mean Ryder had a blunt in every cut-scene he was in. And Big Smoke?? He didn't get that nickname by putting out forest fires. Why do you think he was hungry all the time? CJ burned down the competition's entire crop for the Truth, then helped him smuggle a loaded van into San Fiero. Yeah, I'd say Grove and CJ were pro-drug. Just not crack, which is wack! OT: IV is starting a new cannon, so I don't think that the ballers will be appearing again. Fine by me cause I'm Grove 4 Life No Image Available
Superb
No because in San Andreas you eventually take over all the Ballas turf, so I wouldn't want to be a Balla because I know what actually happens to them. CJ smokes them all.
bobgtafan
It would be cool to have a preqeul set in 1988 that shows the downfall of the Grove Families with the Ballas rising to power. other wise it makes no since becuse I killed every Balla there was
Little William
It would be good to play as a Balla, but the GTA NeXt game will be based on the GTAIV canon. How will the Ballas fit into this new canon?

OT: IV is starting a new cannon, so I don't think that the ballers will be appearing again. Fine by me cause I'm Grove 4 Life Yeah I wouldn't go as far to say that GSF was anti drug. Hell the gang which was once the united Orange Grove Families split apart into different sects because none of the "hoods" could agree on things including crack. The crack epidemic was easily the biggest crime wave in U.S. history. From around 1986-1996 crime was at all time high's in certain cities and kingpins were literally coming and going because of the money and violence that came with it. Crack really did destroy whole families and neighborhoods so I could see GSF not supporting it in the early 90s but I'm 99% positive they sold weed. By now the Families as a whole would probably be involved with selling crack. Anyways I wouldn't mid playing as a Balla but I'd rather play as a member of a different or new gang if R* decides to use the gang aspect again and update it. I'd prefer to be a gang member based off the GD's, Vice Lords or Black P.Stone Rangers in a city based on Chicago or a member of a Spanish or Latino gang in a Soutwestern city with the gang being based on MS-13 or La Eme or something. There is numerous possibilites but the only way I'd really want to play a Balla is if it's a San Andreas Stories before SA.
ZayDaGawd
IDK, I dont have a problem playing as claudes enemy of someone working for diaz, but it just seems like working for the ballas just feels like betraying CJ. Plus the ballas all seemed like arrogant asses who only cared about money.

nerner
I wouldn't mind playing as them in say, San Andreas Stories, but playing as them in the IV canon would not be right in my opinion.
Mafioso86
I like it... I'd actually always wondered about this... what it wound be like to play San Andreas from the other side of that statewide gang war. I mean in San Andreas it was like GS, Aztecas, and Triads vs Ballas, Vagos, and Rifa. It would be cool to play it from the other side, maybe see a different outcome to it all where the Ballas win and crack is king.
Wolfmight
No Wai !! (maybe ). might be interesting to get a perspective from the other side. like the hitman games, where you are normally the enemy.
theskitone
hell no i mean doing that would be the same as comming back and playing as sonny in vice city or playing as the forelli family in LCS
