The Virus Still fighting for a future

Brilliant American street punk band formed by Mike Virus (also frontman for Cheap sex), if you like good street punk, you'll like these,an influence from British Street punk blended with some American 80's west coast Hardcore.

I listened to something more familar, and popular

RUSH - A Show of Hands.

I bought it for the live track "Turn the Page", simply A top must hear, must love, awesome as all Hell song!!!

The whole album, however, just speaks VOLUMES about how ageless and defining RUSH are, I mean, have you heard this whole CD?

It just sounds like you saw the band the other night live! I own a few Rush CDs live, and official and they are one of the best live bands ever. Top musicianship

Listened to Grateful Dead - Europe '72 while doing all the errands that require driving today.

It became such the sing along drive since it is oddly warm today. Raining off and on, with the windows down - totally felt like spring.

Man on the Moon: The End of the Day

This is one of the best albums I've ever heard. The songs are all unique in their own way, and the lyrics in each seem really genuine. Along with that, the beats are addictive and really hook you in.

Another thing I really liked about it was the way the album is split into 5 different parts. They all continue the story in a free-flowing way, and none of the parts are better or worse than the others, even though my favourite song came in Part 3 and was Heart of A Lion.

But overall, my score is 9/10. A very good album by one of my favourite artists.

p.s. The cover is pretty awesome too.

Galaxie 500 - On Fire

I only discovered this album the other week and I'd already consider it one of my all-time favourite albums. Sure, the whole album is just a few simple repetitive chord changes with melodies that almost perfectly resemble the last song except for the change in tone; but they do it so god damn well.

When listening to this album I feel a weird sense of nostalgia, and I just don't know what it is. It feels like I've known this album all my life and that every song was written especially about me and my life experiences.

The album just has a rawness to it, and it just describes what Westcoast malarkey was back in the 80's. I loved it back 5 years ago when I first heard them, and I still love them now. You want good punk? Look no farther.

I've been re-listening to this compilation a bit lately, for the first time in years. It's an interesting mix, though it wouldn't be to everyone's taste. There's a lot of variable stuff on there, but it all seems to fit together, artists such as Orbital, The Smiths, The Flaming Lips, Badly Drawn Boy, Bjork and a lot more. A great compilation all in all, with the added bonus of nostalgia for me since it's been so long since I last listened to it.

Meh, sorry about the bump, but the topic is in the directory that Cheat posted, and I was thinking of creating a similiar topic, so it saves having to edit it all.

Thanks to Spider-Vice, just got hooked on Deadmau5, with this being the first album I checked out by him. When that first song came on, Some Chords, I instantly knew it was going to be a great album. I've being playing it over and over for the past few weeks, and can't get enough of it. Most of the tracks stand out for me, so can't pick any at the moment...

Anyway, thought I'd give this topic a good re-birth.

Good idea for a thread, what album did you actually listen to a majority, if not all, of?

I had to think a bit, since often I just drop a few songs on, pressed for time, you know....

It was Don Henley's solo album END OF THE INNOCENCE as a DTS audio version CD, no video clips at all, it's surround sound only, so it does not play on standard CD! haha

To be more specific, there are a handful of DTS music CDs, and outside of the external decoder needed, you can play them on any CD transport system with an optical or Digital Bit Stream out, that's how the data gets to be decoded properly

I have all of their albums, but I always listened to Dirt the most. I listened to it religiously when I had school, it's the album that helped me start my day. I never enjoyed the taste of coffee and I was never much of a breakfast fan, but when I put this on my headphones, just the energy alone from Them Bones was enough to get me ready to tackle the day. It's track after track of awesome. I loved everything Alice In Chains has brought out, but Dirt will always be my number 1.

Heard the 'Pumped Up Kicks' track on the radio the other day, and instantly had to grab this album. Don't regret it in the slightest either, since every track has been good so far. 'Pumped Up Kicks' is great to chill out in the sun and smoke a joint/have a drink to. Definitely reccomend this album to everyone on here. 10/10.

Yet to listen to the full album since I got the Redux edition, but it's also down to me replaying some of the songs over and over.
