Firewalker's pics really good, the city looks like ghost town and very creepy . As for Gangxxter, the pic is simple but got good motive and harmony. I mean, it looks like a rainy day/dusk, where everybody is just taking the day off, and I love the widescreen thing he did to it. Firewalker999's pic is great too, but it needs a little 'something' to make it amazing. IMO it should be an empty street instead. But I don't know anything about photographing so I woulden't know. CharmingCharlie's pic has got a great angle, but also needs a little 'something' to make it amazing. Also the capitation was kind of a turn off for me. OverTheBelow's pic is a typical idea, but it really does express Liberty City at its most beautiful IMO. Loved it! 2. Charlie yet again provides us with a hi-larious yet creative pic! The backdrop of buildings against the night sky was also great and it integrated well with the, eh, "structure". 3. Thales100's pic is also amazing - shows Liberty City at a great angle - seems very peaceful. The plane is also a nice addition. Viewing this pic while listening to Edvard Grieg's Morning Mood puts me in a state of tranquillity . Honorable mentions: Firewalker999, Oldage, GtaHitmanStrikesBack, nemesi5 Can't wait for the next round! "WTF!" will definitely be interesting! El Dildo Posted May 23, 2009 Share Posted May 23, 2009 1: Nemesi5 - This is most original of all the shots. There are several city-scapes and several closeups, but this shot is somewhere inbetween. It captures a part of the city that most ignored but which is one of my favorite places; Central Park. Not to mention that the angle and framing are outstanding, from a photographer's point of view. The water fountain in the foreground creates a nice effect that shows off the architecture as well as the nature of the city. 2: Thales100 - What else can you say? Great shot, by far the best of the city-scapes. Not the most original but easily the best all around screen for capturing the intensity of the city contrasted with the tranquility of the water and sunrise. 3: CharmingCharlie - I just like this screen. Kudos to Hanneswasco and gangxxter for taking the "environment" theme literally. (Particularly Hanneswasco's since that looks really good: simple but effective, and htf u got that angle...) Hysterical laughter at CharmingCharlie's find: I've not been able to play the game much with my rig, sure, but I've never seen that before. Awesome! Fwiw, my finalists were Firewalker999, Graven, hydro_pt, john88z, nemesi5, OverTheBelow and Thales100 (why is that one so small, T?) for their crispness, colour, effective representation of Liberty City's environment. Choosing the final three, as usual, wasn't easy, but who can go past the sharpness and clarity of nemesi5's shot. Photorealism almost captured. Who can go past Thales's amazing work with this wide-angle composite which captures not only colour, but that plane on the horizon... nice touch, T. But choosing between OverTheBelow's classic sunset colours and john88z's beautiful anc clear shot of the city streets, with all the ads... ahhhh... ummm... not easy, but I think john88z's would have been better served with more cars, but it is an interesting shot of Star Junction. <end-deliberations> PS; Not a fan of Photobucket's obsession with java. Blimey, are we back in the late 90s again with our fancy-fancy screens full of animations? (Yes, alright, so now they're menus whereever your mouse goes.) Gangxxter's pic makes me appreciate the plant life in Liberty City, despite them being just sprites. It's a very artistic shot, really. Firewalker999's shot just exudes "post-apocalyptic." In second place oldage simply because it's Niko having a crap in some bushes . Finally we have Hanneswasco which is definitely something different and unique, a good show that LC isn't just about big beauty but detailed beauty as well.
